So the fan shroud was damaged and shroud is kind of important for cooling. 2days ago I visited warri to get a new alternator(used) for a tundra also a fan clutch blade. The cost of items there were so alarm. A small rubber tube they'll say 9k, i wonder why the price of items were over inflated. Even the fan shroud was tagged at 10k for something with a crack and wasn't sure if it would fit,gave up on that one.

So back home I've been driving around like usual and decided to visit the junk yard where cars are butched like meat. My uncle sold his jaguar xjr to be butchered just cuz it experiences hard start. I actually got a fan shroud for just 1500 In a good condition. Just an inch shorter. I was so excited. Took it home and began my science. Working on it to fit.

Took me time but I fixed it right

Normally, I change oil every 3000mile. And I use Total Quarts 5000.

But I started noticing the oil shorted in less than 1200miles.

like how many liters do you suspect is lost within 1200 miles, it is not uncommon for a car to short some oil as they age, yourz might be within manufacturer specifications for your car

There’s no spot where the oil is leaking.. What could likely be the cause of this ?..

If no blue smoke, check the Pcv valve if OK,

Then live with it , just keep an extra one liter of oil in your boot, it is a 2az toyota engine after all

Good evening everyone, this is not a repair or fault issue.

I want to sell my HONDA CRV 2008, relocation soon. But the issue is, just recently, the AC evaporator started leaking so the AC chills on one side, the alternator doesn't charge well, the engine too started making one funny noise, all together this past month o. the mechanic said its oil pump, gave him almost 100k to fix it, but two weeks down, the noise has started creeping back, took it back to him. It came back with a weird sound. To make matter worse, my lil brother has spoilt the key hole outside the driver side.

Basically, I am extremely busy with Japa plans and do not have any time to fix anything or argue with a mechanic. So I want to sell it off as it is, I also need money ASAP. Are there people/places where they sell cars in the conditions mentioned above? I puut it up on Jiji but nothing substantial so far. Willing to sell below 2m so the buyer can fix whatever, since CRVs go for over 2m currently.

For new owner to enjoy the car with no headache, the car will need a new alternator, condenser and compressor, and a tokunbo engine, new key/ingnition system.

1.2m looks more like a decent price to accommodate these variables.

My camry 05 battery runs down so fast. Turn off the engine for like say 10 minutes with maybe a door open, it won't start again. Who I bought the car from said the battery was purchased recently. I have serviced the kick, yet same issue. The alternator charges the battery well. I am just tired.

There are many causes such as loose or corroded battery cables and terminals. Perhaps the serpentine belt is not at proper tension due to a failed tensioning system or excessive wear. Maybe there is excessive parasitic discharge on the battery or just maybe the battery has seen better days and needs replacement.

I was advised to get a Honda Civic 2008 instead of my preferred Toyota Corolla 2005-2007.

I was told the Honda Civic 2008 is as durable as the Corolla, has parts as strong and has similar or same fuel efficiency plus great second hand value.

At this point, the funds available will obviously favour getting the Honda considering the unreasonable Corolla prices this period.

Why not save up more fund to get the Corolla since that is what you really desire? An extra month of saving want hurt u, cause your mind will always want what you initially wanted if you settle for something else

I used hardex on my es300 and it performed well before I sold off. I presently use hardex on my Honda CR-V 2006. The oil is good to use.

Those are synthetic oils, are you sure the previous owner was using synthetic oil? Better switch back before that car start burning oil

Just reading through this thread, Oh boy car ownership can be bitter sweet , unexpected expensive can come up all of a sudden and owner can spend twice or more if issue isn't fixed right. Sometime I feel I have rest of mind using public transport or Uber
