Social Media influencer and commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan has today, blocked trailers owned by Nigerian business mogul, Aliko Dangote, from accessing Auchi, an area in Edo state, over incessant accidents, killings and injuries caused by Dangote's Trailer drivers.

This is following the incessant accidents in Auchi, involving drivers of Dangote's trailers, many of whom are reportedly unlicenced truck drivers, leaving scores dead and others severely injured.

In an approximately one minute video which VDM posted on his Facebook page, he revealed that himself, alongside students of the Auchi Polytechnic blocked Dangote trucks, to protest the incessant accidents caused by the negligence and unprofessionalism of his truck drivers.

Activist and social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan has recently unfollowed his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju on Social Media platform, Instagram.

This follows the Abuja-based lawyer, Adeyanju's post, a few weeks ago, where he called out VeryDarkMan, accusing him of not listening to his counsel, claiming that if Anything happens to VDM, Nigerians will swiftly move on.

“I call VDM every time to be careful and stop taking unnecessary risks but he doesn’t listen most of the time. If anything happens to you today, everyone has moved on by tomorrow. We only overrate ourselves, Nigerians don’t rate anybody," Adeyanju posted.

Responding to Adeyanju via a video post, VeryDarkMan expressed disappointment in his lawyer, over his post. He described his opinion as "cowardly and unnecessary."

"“I’m really disappointed by this tweet from my lawyer about me.

"First thing first, I’m really disappointed in my lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. I’m so disappointed in you for this post especially because you are a comrade. If it was an ordinary Nigerian that say this thing I would have assumed they don’t know better.

“It’s true that Nigerians will move on if anything happens to me today, but is there any one that will die and Nigeria will not move on? Jesus Christ died, the world moved on. Catholic Pope died, the world moved on and a new Pope was installed. Buhari died, the world has moved on. Who do you think is special, you?

“Ultimately, anybody wey open his mouth talk that thing is a coward. I swear to God, any human for this country wey open his to say Nigeria will move on if you die is a coward . International Journalism scholar and respected Nigerian journalist, Professor Farooq Kperogi has apologized to Late Ex-president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari's Widow, Aisha Buhari, over his claims on social media, suggesting that Aisha and Buhari had divorced and separated before the demise of Buhari.

To Be A Friend is a blend of friendship, betrayal, love, determination, and marital crisis, built around the central lesson that sometimes, fate should be allowed to run its course.

In today's Nollywood, it's rare to see younger versions of characters bear a convincing resemblance to their older counterparts. Commendably, To Be A Friend thrills with near-perfect casting—Kunle Remi (Tunde), Deyemi Okanlawon (Tega), and Bimbo Ademoye (Folasade) all shine. Notably, the film deserves accolades for casting Kunle Remi’s biological brother, Peace Remi, as the younger Tunde—a rare stroke of authenticity.

While the producers clearly aimed for a compact, engaging plot, the storytelling unfortunately suffers. The abrupt escalation of marital conflict in Tega’s relationship is both jarring and illogical. One moment, his wife is indifferent to his absence; a few scenes later, she's in full meltdown mode and making drastic decisions. The audience is denied a necessary buildup—missed anniversaries, emotional distance, or sexual tension—that would justify her transformation. Instead, we’re handed a love story that turns violent with no believable cause.

Similarly, the opening prison scene falters. The faceless warden addressing Tega sounds less like an officer of the law and more like a street tout reading lines from a script—unconvincing and misplaced, which may explain his absence from the camera.

The Twist
A common complaint about Nollywood is its lack of research, depth, and suspense. To Be A Friend attempts to break this mold but falls short. Tunde, meant to be the plot’s surprise villain, gives himself away too early. His body language and dialogue fail to conceal his guilt, and .....

Chatta was captured revealing this on a movie set during a conversation with crew members, according to a video recently posted on YouTube by Abiola Orisile.

The movie star stated that his child was admitted to a hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos State, but all efforts to raise the necessary funds for treatment were unsuccessful.

Chatta revealed that the baby was eventually buried in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate due to the lack of a proper casket.

Activist and outspoken social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VDM, has led pupils to the gate of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, protesting the prolonged teachers' strike that has now extended over 90 Days.

According to reports, primary school teachers in the FCT, have been on strike since the 24th of March, 2025, now for more than 90 days, over the failure of the Area Council Chairmen to implement the new national minimum wage of N70,000.
