Don't have time for petty arguments
You do. Your responses say as much. And your entire argument today was started by my posts. So whatever you do, you are dealing with these issues.

I was SHOUTING because you argue like a 5 year old.
.
Don't shout, sharpen your argument. It's as simple as that. Until you do that, the question remains: how can a terror group that is the deadliest on the planet be deemed "defeated"?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 11:34am On Nov 26, 2015
lionel4power:
jesus Christ did you understand anything I said before? anything at all?
.
.
what do you understand by 'defeated but not destroyed'?

we are not failing.. if we were Failing France won't come crawling and begging for our help.
In-between all the shouting and cussing, I might be forgiven for not finding coherence in your post. So, again, please when you are ready, I ask the question: if BH is now the deadliest terror group on the planet, how does that translate into "defeated"? And it is always possible to learn from the failures of others.

Couldn't finish reading. No content
You cannot cancel something out without reading it. Physically impossible. We still are waiting for a coherent argument from you on how the IRA story justifies Nigeria's failures.

Wow!!! Six lines yet no content.

And if you can quote where I used the US example I would gladly accept taking correction from a feeble minded saffer. I promise

Let me know if you oppose that Britain fought insurgency unsuccessfully for 20 years in it's borders and I'll be glad to school your small ignorant mind.
Ireland had an official army. There were splinter movement, but an official army was there, which already tells you the you are dealing with something much different. When you are happy, do tell us which land BH officially belongs to. Thanks.

lionel4power:
now I'm doubting your mental condition.
are you a kid? must I explain everything in details, can't you deduce things yourself boy?

- BH HAS BEEN 'LARGELY' DEFEATED BUT NOT DESTROYED.
- THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEFEATED AND DESTROYED.
- BH ELEMENTS CAN STILL EXIST FOR A LONG TIME EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE SURRENDERED.
- INSURGENCY DON'T END OVERNIGHT.
- BH CAPACITY TO WAKE WAR HAS BEEN DESTROYED BUT BH IS STILL IN EXUSTENCE.
- TALIBAN CAPACITY TO WAGE WAR HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY THE USA BUT TALIBAN ELEMENTS STILL EXIST.
- YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOUR MILITARY DON'T FIGHT WARS, THE ONLY TAKE INSTAGRAM PICTURES.
So if BH has been largely defeated and not destroyed, how does that deal with the simple argument that you are failing? It's very simple. Nigeria fights BH at home. Nigeria fails at its fights. Have you succeeded? No. It's very simple.

By the way, why are you shouting? Frustration much?

Very smart of you to respond to "no content:".

You asked for the "shifting" of arguments, which clearly is an acceptance that you are begging us to move from the US example to your Britain one.

Only problem is, you are yet to show us how what happened in the Uk justifies Nigeria's failures at home.

Whenever you are ready, with thanks. You mean, the secessionist issue that the UK was dealing with. Pray tell, how is that similar to the BH issue?

NIGERIA’S ARMY CHIEF SAYS STEADY PROGRESS BEING MADE
TO DEFEAT BOKO HARAM

XINHUA

24 November, 2015

ABUJA

Nigeria’s army chief Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai on Tuesday said troops
have made a steady progress to soon defeat Boko Haram.
“We are not there yet but we are gradually getting there. We are
making steady progress,”the Nigerian army chief said when he
visited troops of the 72 Special Force Battalion in Makurdi, capital
of the north central state of Benue.
He said the task of overrunning the deadly Boko Haram terror group
must be accomplished on record time. Troops have recently
claimed to have arrested key members of Boko Haram, as well as
destroyed some of their camps and a rocket-making factory in the
northeastern state of Borno.
Boko Haram has since 2009 waged a campaign of violence in the
West African country in an effort to establish an Islamic state.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has given a December
deadline for the army to end the Boko Haram insurgency but recent
attacks by the group has given citizens cause to doubt the
possibility of ending the carnage.
Boko Haram, in its six-year violence, has killed some 13,000 people
and kidnapped hundreds, with surrounding countries such as Niger,
Chad and Cameroon affected.

nobody sees SA... truth hurts brother, deal we it it.
Listen here, chap. You need to make up your mind and decide whether you want to argue that:

1. BH hasn't been defeated because insurgency is difficult to deal with; or that

2. BH has been largely defeated.

If you are arguing 2, then you don't need 1 and you have practically wasted everyone's time.

So, please decide what your position is. Stop drifting from position to position, thanks.

How about we shift focus to Britain that fought insurgency at home for 20 years despite being a super power.

Idiotic saffers still thinking with ur arsses
Well done for dropping the US example. Proud of you for taking counsel from South Africans. We note your desire to "shift" arguments.

Let us know if you want to now start afresh and take arguments on Britain.

Henry240:
The US has the world's largest force projection. A single US ship carries more Fighter Jets than the all the combined militaries of west and South-Africa including ( South-Africa and Nigeria)

They also have the world's most extensive intelligence gathering capabilities, more Infrastructure than all countries in Africa.

Nigeria is no failing, we infact are dealing effectively with the insurgents we face, the facts point to it. Hence countries like France are keen on learning from Nigeria.
Exactly, they have the world's largest force projection, but they do not have legislative and tax influence in foreign lands. For example, you've had a state of emergency for how long now? The US cannot declare a state of emergency in Afghanistan, which would give them even more powers. Compare apples with apples. How would the insurgents fair against the US military at home? No need for you to answer that because we all know what the answer is. You are not dealing effectively with the insurgents if they are now the deadliest group on the planet. Bihari's administration has seen a ton of deaths notwithstanding his bravado when electioneering.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 10:16am On Nov 26, 2015
lionel4power:
you do realise that with just only 2 carrier battle group the USA has more firepower, aircraft, naval vessels and enough infantrymen than the whole of Afghanistan armed forces combined.
.
yet 15 years later Taliban, AL Qaeda is still active. meanwhile with limited resources the mighty Nigerian military have reduced BH to mere pictures only propaganda group.
I realise your shortcomings. And because of those shortcomings, you need to compare apples with apples. Fighting insurgency at home is nothing like fighting insurgency abroad. The US is fighting insurgency abroad and the fact that they still have not won is no justification for Nigeria's failures at home. The question to be asked is whether Al Qaeda etc would still be active if they were based and operating in the US. You know the answer to that...it's a resounding no.

Your failures at home are unacceptable. BH has not been reduced to anything. Instead, they have grown into the deadliest terror group on the planet. This happened under your military's watch. Ample opportunity to wipe them off, you had. But fail, you did.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 9:41am On Nov 26, 2015
lionel4power:
it's called insurgency.
.
it's not easy to fight
.
USA is still fighting Taliban since 15years ago.
.
.
NOW WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?
The US had to travel thousands of miles across the globe to fight the Taliban. That in itself demonstrates the reach, influence and power of the US military. Nigeria couldn't negotiate a presence in Cameroon if it tried. Let alone actually sustaining a long fight there. Nigeria is being useless while it sits at home, where it has access to all the intelligence, financial and legislative support it could ever need.

Henry240:
No Insurgency is easy to defeat, the U.S has been fighting insurgents since 1986, that's 29 years of constant war.
The U.S military is not fighting insurgents on American soil. It is fighting in foreign lands. Nigeria is fighting at home in a land the size of two U.S states, and it is failing. You cannot compare the two.

Africa's 50 Richest 2015: South African Tycoons Overtake Nigerians Amid Economic Weakness

South Africans made the best showing on the Africa’s richest list this year, occupying 16 spots, up from 11 last year. Nigerians had a smaller representation, with 10 members of the list, down from 13. Eight members hail from Morocco, 7 from Egypt, 3 from Tanzania and 3 from Kenya. There was one each from Algeria, Angola and Uganda.

No I'm not nigerian and I'm truly grateful for that.

Your country is a federation of states each one having relative autonomy over the territory it governs correct. What corresponding traits are you referring to boko haram is not just a northern problem its a nigerian and west african regional problem. There's no thing as northern military under the federal nigerian laws. Do you even know what you talking about here, I doubt ithuh.

The "professional nigerian military" is made up of all states/regions fact. Stop making excuses for your country's incompetence and military chiefs lack of oversight and discipline and general lack of a human rights culture within your largely illiterate military as a hole.
Nigeria is not a country. It's stitch work by Europeans who collected people that had nothing in common and bonded them in a land the size of two South African provinces. It was left to bored colonialist housewives to name and deal with. grin

So in short, it is rubbish that this is not published.

But never mind that, see your ignorance below. wink

[b]E-mails released through the Freedom of Information Act and published on the military blog Task & Purpose late Monday provide new perspective into what may have occurred. A Marine who was there at the time told public affairs officials that commanders ordered the bodies to be burned because U.S. troops were living in close proximity to them and the corpses were “literally exploding” from becoming bloated in the sun.

Amended it, professional armies commit atrocities, that includes the United States which is considered the most professional of all. The real question is why anyone thought it was wise to photograph and then post it on the internet, professional militaries atleast have the sense to try to cover up their atrocities.
If the atrocities are not broadcast to the world, how come you know about them? Clearly, you are talking rubbish and sucking things out of your thumb. You could always prove me wrong by posting a picture of a US soldier posing with the head of an enemy soldier, after having cut it off.
