*NPOWER VOLUNTEERS PERMANENCY ADVOCATE COUNCIL* *OUR APPEAL FOR ABSORPTION* _Npower volunteers permanency advocate council use this medium to express our undiluted appreciation to the federal government for the most effective and unpolitical empowerment program ever in the history of our great country . The program has touched the lives of common man and today the success stories are everywhere. The impact of Npower program which have saved a lots of graduates from unspeakable shame of unemployment and rebuild some young people from involving in barbaric manners of self sustenance cannot be over emphasized._ _It was crystal clear that the program started when Nigeria economy was at her lowest point and begging for for recovery. The massive impact of the Npower program contributed immensely to the recuperation of our economy via volunteers selfless services to agriculture , health and education which were the main tiers before the introduction of other_ categories. _The lamentable state of security was able to be controlled due to youths engagement through the Npower program. Today we can trace the low level of different agitation in the country to the empowerment program._ *REASONS FOR ABSORPTION AGITATION* _The success recorded by the Npower program can only be cemented if the young people taken off the streets are absorbed. It can't be imagined if *"a lion is fed for a while and let loose"* The same will be the story if the 200,000 youths are disengaged at a time when they are faced with loads of responsibilities. It will spells hell or earth when these people begin to look for means of livelihood._ _*DANGERS INVOLVED:*_ _The dangers of disengaging about 200,000 youths(God forbid) will not spear anybody not even those that are sitting on the thrones._ _Thuggery_ _Armed robbery_ _Stealing_ _Kidnapping_ _Agitation among other evils may follow the event as we all know that *"idle hands are devil's workshops"*_ *OUR PLEA* _We are not ingrates, but we want the government at all levels to weigh the merits of absorbing the Npower volunteers and consider that we are citizens of the Republic with responsibilities._ _We have no where to go and we can't engage in criminal activities to earn our living. We are the most active citizens that can change the story of the country for the best._ _We hereby appeal to the Federal, State and Local Governments and every stakeholders in the country to rise to our aids and consider our plea._ *Thanks* *Signed:* *_NPOWER VOLUNTEERS PERMANENCY ADVOCATE COUNCIL_* To: *Muhammadu Buhari( President, Federal Republic of Nigeria)* Cc: *- Professor Yemi Osinbajo(Vice President,Feder al Republic of Nigeria)* *- Npower Working Team* *- All State Governors* *- All State Focal Persons* |

Written by Bashir Usman Gobir Basharusmang Although, am n't among npower beneficiaries, but Alhamdulillah i'm already working at federal level for 13 years past . I liked and joined npower Facebook groups And pages just to experiencing how good you're in terms of mutual relationships, good rapport And clamouring for permanency, but sometimes I'm very surprised about what somebody so called Mr. afolabi has been saying on your struggling And efforts, what concerns him about your agitation and aluta groups. was he never experienced for the situation of the jobless ![]() I think that great man so called Mr. afolabi, it may interest him to be unforgettable in nigerian history by encouraging FG to absorbs both 2016 and 2017 beneficiaries as a result of the impacts which they're giving to nigerian community enormously. It's obvious, Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede doesn't wants npower graduates to be permanently emloyed by Federal Government of nigeria, why he wanted to takes npower graduates back to the streets if he denies those beneficiaries' right to advocates their campaigns to the presidency, how long of painful situation should they faces![]() If that should be the case, the npower program doesn't change anything on high rates of unemployment in nigeria... SO I URGES ALL NPOWER GRADUATES TO GO AND GETS THE ACCESS OF THE MR. VICE PRESIDENT PROF YEMI OSINBAJO, MR. AHMAD BOLA TINUBI, COMRADE ADAMS OSHIOMOLE, ABBA KYARI, MAMMAN DAURA, SSA MEDIA AND PUBLICITY GARBA SHEHU, TWO HONOURABLE MINISTERS BARR. LAI MUHAMMAD AND MR. FASHOLA... By the time all coalition of Npower graduates meets the above mentioned APC DISTINGUISHED PEOPLE , I SWEAR TO GOD ALMIGHTY ALL OF THE NPOWER GRADUATES SHOULD DEFINITELY BE ABSORBED. I also calls on 2017 beneficiaries to voluntarily joins with the 2016 colleagues not oppose them because one day what happens to 2016 beneficiaries would deeply effects 2017 beneficiaries also. I finally wish YOU all best of luck. — in Abuja, Nigeria. 31 mins · Public |

Dr. Ben Carson (Retired world renowned neurosurgeon, and Republican Presidential Aspirant) wrote this beautiful piece (He is my My Mentor) Sometimes you are unsatisfied with your life, while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life. A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of flying. But, a pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse and dreams of returning home. That's life!! Enjoy yours. If wealth is the secret to happiness, then the rich should be dancing on the streets. But only poor kids do that. If power ensures security , then officials should walk unguarded. But those who live simply, sleep soundly. If beauty and fame bring ideal relationships, then celebrities should have the best marriages. But those who live simply, walk humbly and love genuinely! All good will come back to you!!! Man asks, “Where was God when Myles Munroe, wife and his associates were killed in a crash? He answers, "The same place I sat when John the Baptist My servant was beheaded. When Stephen My servant was stoned to death. When Paul My servant was murdered in Rome. The same place I sat when My only Son was brutally crucified, wounded, bruised and killed. I have not moved from My position." I AM the same. It is not the means of exit from earth that matters but the destination. Live simply. It's all about God!! I love this one: If someone asks about your educational background, proclaim boldly that: Church is my college. Heaven is my university. Father God is my counselor. Jesus is my principal. Holy Spirit is my teacher. Angels are my classmates. Bible is my textbook. Temptations are my exams. Overcoming Satan is my hobby. Winning souls for God is my assignment. Receiving eternity is my degree. Praise and Worship are my slogan. If you are a child of God. Happy Sunday to everyone seeing this message. |

[/font]Leadership of the 2016 beneficiaries of the Federal Government youth empowerment scheme, N-Power on Wednesday convened a meeting to evaluate some issues related to their demand for permanency in civil service. CNR Nigeria had earlier reported that 2016 N-Power leadership group will meet to evaluate the issues raised by a top N-Power official, Afolabi Imoukhuede regarding government position on their agitation to be converted into the permanent staff of federal civil service at the expiration of their two-year period in the scheme. The group who met at an undisclosed location in Lagos comprised of 3 representatives from each state of the federation and agreed to be known and addressed as 'G-111 for Permanency'. It said that though the programme was originally scheduled to accommodate beneficiaries for a stated period of two years, it has prepared and equip beneficiaries with relevant and useful skills as the most qualified people to fill the numerous vacant positions occasioned by increasingly inadequate staff in their respective PPAs. "We are aware that the Federal Government N-Power programme has a defined period of time it can accommodate beneficiaries. However, it is our considered position that since beneficiaries have within their stay in the scheme learn enormous skills and competence to provide quality service in teaching, healthcare, and agriculture sectors, they have qualified to be absorbed into the system currently suffering from acute staff shortage. "Beneficiaries who teach in our primary and secondary schools across the country will attest to the fact that pupils and student are not happy about losing their teachers who have effectively impacted them with knowledge through out their fruitful stay in the schools. The story is the same in our Primary Heath Centres and Agric Extension offices in every Local Government of the Federation. "We maintain our carefully considered view that it is only by absorbing the 2016 beneficiaries that their good work and excellent performances can be consolidated and sustained. Throwing them back into the streets to start roaming for unavailable job will amount to the greatest disservice any responsible and people-oriented government can do to the citizens. "The Federal Government, under the able leadership of our amiable President Mohammadu Buhari and his Deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo must pay deserving attention to our demand and act accordingly because if we lose, Nigeria and Nigerians lose; alternately, our conversion will mean great victory for both the APC-led Federal Government and the good people of Nigeria. "For now, we are not interested in the proposed exit package as hinted by Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede as it is not clear to us what the idea is all about. Exit Package in whatever form or guess, can only benefit us individually but Permanency will service Nigerians. "We have no intention of taking any form of mass action against a government that have benefitted us so much. Our agitation remains peaceful and persuasive; and based on reason, facts and figures. "We enjoins our members in all the 36 States and the FCT to continue announcing it to all relevant authorities in the land, the very need to retain us in the federal civil service. FG May Retain Npower
Volunteers
Npower , a federal government empowerment
scheme which was initiated by President
Muhammadu Buhari in late 2016 is aimed at
empowering 500, 000 unemployed graduates
for a duration of two years. Presently, the
scheme has already engaged 200, 000
unemployed in December 2016 and are
already receiving a monthly stipend of
N30, 000. Though there have glitches in the
accurate payment of the stipend, the Npower
management are currently working on
correcting and verifying information of those
who are yet to receive their monthly stipend.
They are also working on clearing those with
outstanding payments (backlog). How To
Resolve Npower Payment Issues [UPDATED]
In the second Batch Npower Management are
currently working on engaging another 300,000
unemployed graduates. The recruitment
process has already in the Preselection stage
where volunteers who were successful in the
assessment stage will be shortlisted for
physical verification in their various states.
How to check Npower Participant List for 2017
Applicants
At the time when volunteers agitate against
the opacity of December 2016 payment of
stipends which revealed a black hole of
discripencies with selective payment of
volunteers who were all verified the same date
and the same time in the same venue, it was
revealed on social media that the N-Power
Team while entertaining N-Power volunteers in
their premises, authoritatively said that the
federal government is overstaffed, that there
is no vacancy in the civil service in order to
retain Npower volunteers. Because of this,
Npower volunteers are hoping to creating a
movement so that the government will see to
their struggles and what will become of them
after the 2years duration of the scheme.
A volunteer wrote;
N-Power does not employ, only the federal
government employs, therefore N-Power Team
should focus on managing the scheme they have
been entrusted with for its smooth
implementation. Npower scheme initiatives is in
no way a duplication of Civil Service Commission
and the Federal Ministry of Labour and
Productivity, it was recently put in place to
monitor and manage the full implementation of
the scheme which is a volunteerism scheme
which managers were employed for its
successful implementation. N-Power Team
should stop interfering with the vision of Buhari/
Osinbajo vision of full empowerment of the
youths.
We do not believe that the federal government
that chose to extract from the streets a number
of unemployed skilled graduates lacks the
capacity to keep them away from the streets
after carefully and thoroughly nursing and
testing them for optimum employability. This is
a promise earlier made before the setting up of
Social Investment Programme. It is based on
this background that we stage an aggressive
campaign at all levels to make our interests
count in the decision making. N-Power should
not be another way to establish that it is only
when you have connection that you can get a
permanent employment in Nigeria. It should not
be that the common men kids are only good for
temporary employment while the upper class’
kids are good for full employment. It should not
be that we got it wrong that all is still business
as usual to pull political stances.
It is clear that the level of wastage of the
meager resources on frivolous allowances of
both elected and non elected officers is
paramount to governments of ours than to truly
alleviate the level of poverty and inhumane
treatment of workforce in the land. When our
senators heartedly pocket 1bn+ monthly to
service their known allowances, the youths,
frustrated, disabused, disillusioned and bittered,
are totally cut off of most of the legal ways to
make a living; they are subjected to
requirements that only “aje-butter-kids” can
meet up. They are accused unnecessarily for
collecting a token which can not even assure 3
meals per day. When voices go up, some so
called wise men choose to castigate us, the
youths, by saying that if we are not satisfied we
should just take a leave. What a beautiful
mindset. I would like to know if their kids can
manage N30,000.0 for 30 days for a living:
paying rent, transportation, food and drugs to
sustain good health.
The youths cannot continue to be at the
receiving ends of all governments policies. We
have to force the enactment of policies which
takes fully care of us and the up coming
generations. We can no more be passive to
what goes on in our polity. We can no more
allow to be brainwashed by political platforms
which are only after their sole interests. We can
no more play the second role in the general
affairs of the nation, it is our own future that is
at stake in the present dispensation. We are
used and dumped continually in the same ways,
and we, youths, have learnt nothing . We keep on
following, fighting, dying for them while their
kids are preciously kept abroad to come back
later to rule us. We subsidy the education of
their kids with lower rate Dollars while they
choose to close down our universities,
jeopardize our primary and secondary schools.
Today, we are offered a golden opportunity to
come together to save ourselves from perennial
denial of the youths of this great country. As we
all know, no single form of violence should be
used. We have to act academically and
strategically. We have to explore all means of
ingenuity which we used to survive in the
streets. We have to weigh in our rhetorically
known strength, our long appraised energy. We
are not weak until we accept to be one. We are
not losers until we accept to be one. We are
great, let us establish our greatness for this
country to fully develop .
It is on this note that we have to adopt
#ItTakesAStruggle as our cardinal common
platform. We have to also adopt the latter hash
tag in all our comments and write-ups on all
social platforms. We have to create the
momentum in our various places to ignite the
process of our permanency. We have to serve
the Senators and Reps both at Federal and
States levels with copies of same content
nationwide. We have to carry along all state
volunteers recognised excos. We have to mount
the pressure both on streets and social media.
We have to conduct all this in the spirit of “One
United Nigeria”. A Volunteer per State is being
gathered to liaise with state executive body of
volunteers to canvass our goals and carry them
along on the ways forward.
October 1, should be used for the launch of the
movement #ItTakesAStruggle nationwide . Each
state has to launch #ItTakesAStruggle. Do not
sit on the fence. Do not choose not to be part
of our history. Do not be a traitor. Remember,
we all represent an army with many battalions.
We are grouped in various entities with the same
goals. Once again, our permanency is our sole
goal. Nobody should bring his political
partisanship in the struggle. Anybody found
castigating personalities and political parties will
be tagged as traitor and a mole implanted in our
midst to rubbish our aim and discredit our
struggle. You are warned! |
mod. I beg of u to move this to front page..it is very important for youth |
NATIONWIDE NPOWER VOLUNTEERS, NIGERIA, APRIL 1, 2018. YOUR EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ABUJA, NIGERIA. Dear Sir, PLEA FOR PERMANENT STATUS FOR N-POWER BENEFICIARIES We, the representatives of all N-Power volunteers from the thirty six states of the federation including Abuja, humbly write to your venerated office for our absoption into the permanent civil service. Permit us at this juncture to acknowledge the efforts of your government in creating an environment of equal opportunities and equitable atmosphere for all, without any bias of whatsoever form. Most importantly sir, we wish to register our utmost and sincere appreciations to your administration for the new breeze of hopes and aspirations injected into a long suffering and neglected youths, viable segment of the masses, through the Social Investment Programmes (SIP). Sir, it is countless to still say your initiative has brought back the lost glory through the Social Investment Programmes which thousands of Nigerians from all brackets of ages are currently benefiting from and which gives every Nigerian a true sense of belonging without any traceable iota of religious, tribal and political undertone. This is undeniably a landmark in the history of this nation that has proven to be truly designed for the poor and neglected masses, without any form of manipulations. As a sub-unit of the Social Investment Programmes, the Npower Initiative Scheme has come as a succor to millions of young Nigerians, graduates and non graduates, skilled and unskilled, to putting smiles on our faces and giving us hopes of a better Nigeria of equal opportunities and promising days ahead. In view of the aforementioned, we hereby use this avenue to register our unreserved appreciations. We, the entire elite Nigerian youths, under the aegis of The Nationwide N-Power Volunteers from the thirty six states of the federation and FCT, shall ever remain grateful to the ingenious mind behind the Npower Initiative Scheme and other sister programmes under the umbrella of the Social Investment Programmes (SIP). Dear sir, the intervention of the programme has been a blessing to many Nigerians, and for the umpteenth time, we wish to express our profound gratitude for giving ordinary and teaming Nigerian youths such rare opportunities to contributing our own quota to the developmental process of our great country under your able leadership. Therefore, Praising you for such privileges can never be overemphasized. The truth is that N-Power Initiative Scheme (NIS), like other Social Investment Programmes (SIP), has emerged as a palliative and temporary measure to address the alarming effects of mass unemployment of young graduates of our Nation. We fully acknowledge the fact that the scheme was designed to be run for a period of twenty four months (two years). All the above mentioned are not deniable and we do not intend to dispute any of them. But your Excellency, with due respect to your esteemed office and your revered personality, permit us to make our case from the foregoing. Statistically, 75% of this current batch of the scheme are N-teach volunteers who are engaged in various public schools as teaching staff. Every new experience we come across is basically and directly related to the teaching profession we have been trained for. This is what goes on in other tiers of the scheme namely N-Agro and N-Health. Besides, most of us basically live on the stipends paid to us, mainly for our transportations to and from our respective places of primary assignment, our feedings and other basic necessities we need to acquire. It is practically impossible for us to still have a saving out of the stipends, most especially in this economic reality where the price of goods and services have skyrocketed in the market; not even minding some other inevitable domestic responsibilities to cater for. Your Excellency Sir, we are not trying to put to doubt the goodwill in the concept of the scheme and its already visible and felt effects across board, but we only wish to draw your attention to other salient realities we are confronted with, and make possible suggestions for eventual considerations. We think there is an absolute need for your administration to look into the functionality of an unemployment eradicating mechanism that takes into consideration a lasting employability and self-reliance measures and turn the large number of unemployed graduates into a force of development in the short and long terms by engaging them permanently. We suggest there should be well synergized plans between the federal and state governments to integrate and absorb these trained and well equipped and dedicated young graduates into a workable system where they can fully and profitably utilize and put into practice all the skills they have acquired over time. That will further enhance and justify the very purpose of implementation of the scheme: reducing youth unemployment and poverty in the society. Abandoning us back to the streets where we were once picked from to infuse our creative energetic abilities might have detrimental effects on our collective well being as a nation. Already, the scheme has made and still making tremendous and incommensurable landmark achievements, going by the uncountable daily success stories that are flooding the social media sphere, and more practically, the real impacts it has brought to individuals at different levels in the society, both the direct beneficiaries of the scheme, and the anomalies it was meant to correct. Permit us to redundantly delve a little on this. The Educational Sector This sector has highly been boosted by the presence of volunteers in schools. The perennial lack of teachers in our educational system has been filled with well trained, youthful, energetic and passionate N-teach beneficiaries. Subjects which remained for years untaught are now being taught efficiently. Classrooms abandoned by the scanty number of teachers are all given adequate monitoring. Pupils and students half baked or previously not even taught are being handled with the most modern educational teaching and learning methods. Public schools have gained back their lost glory. Learners are happy to go back to public schools. The zeal of old days are being highly rekindled. The programme has really made progress in this sector with the presence of over 100,000 N-teach volunteers. The Agricultural Sector This sector determines the strength and the weakness of our micro and macro economy. For long, there has been a serious gap of communication between government policies and agricultural intervention programmes which had led to a highly volatile sector in term of poor productivity and pauperisation of those involved in the agro business. The recent deployment of Npower volunteers as extension agents, all over the nation, to directly conduct assessments of farming activities and to carry on direct sensitisation of farmers at all stages, has brought up the level of production and has also equipped the farmers with better and greater techniques to farming, conservation and sales for greater profitability. The volunteers go miles deep in the farmlands to meet and have first hand assessments of the challenges being faced in the regions and report back to the experts at the tail end of the administration for resolutions. Farmers are now happy and soon with the abundant yield, everybody will be able to afford more sufficient and qualitative food. The Health Sector The recent deployment of Npower volunteers as assistants to the health workers has tremendously given a level of relief to the existing workers who almost have no shift period due to lack of staffs. The primary health care centres dispersed in remote areas in rural communities and who only set eyes on health workers once in a week are now full of excitement with volunteers under the Npower programme deployed to their localities to have daily records and health assessments of the host communities. This has reduced avoidable mortalities of patients in rural areas and crowded general hospitals. As a results of this, self medication has drastically reduced due to the presence and services of Npower volunteers available at all times. Our Demands Mr President, it is with a heart full of hope that we bring our plight to you. It might mean little or nothing to you, but it means everything to us as unemployed graduates desirous to remain relevant and productive in a system that had hitherto no proper plans for youths and which also neglected their interests for so long. The N-Power Initiative Scheme has successfully extracted from the limbo of the streets hundreds of thousands of graduate youths who could not find a job after many years of schooling and going through all processes of employability in our dear country. Many of us who lost faith in the system have joined the underworld caucuses while we were groping for possible sustainable jobs. Your Excellency, the bitter truth is the knowledge of going back to the streets with little or nothing at the expiration of the scheme. The 24 months duration of the programme is coming to an end as a frightening nightmare to us. Are we going back to the streets where we were fetched from after dedicated and creative works at our various places of assignment? What happens to us after the scheme and what shall be our fate? Our sincere plea to this administration is to open a window for consideration of absorbing us permanently into the civil service, both at the federal and state levels. This can be achieved by putting in place a mechanism that shall consider the conditions and modus operandi of such exercise, taking into consideration our attendance at places of work, our commitment and dedication to work, and the impacts laid in our immediate environment under the volunteering job. We are not unaware of the many challenges faced by this regime most especially that it is trying to correct the many abnormalities engendered by previous and successive administrations, but we think the permanent engagement of valiant young graduates trained and equipped with adequate skills should also not be undermined in this era where we know youths are the driving forces behind any prosperous nation. 200, 000 young graduates, if well channelled and properly catered for can immensely revolutionalize all sectors of the economy. But the reverse might be the case if there is no proper arrangements from the government. Youths build nations, and youths also destroy nations. You have given us the opportunity to serve our communities and by extension our nation through this scheme, we have made noticeable impacts. We appreciate you and your government for such opportunity. But the sustenability of such impacts can only be achieved if we are permanently engaged. This is a candid and humble invitation to you Sir, to look into the possibility of permanently absorbing us into the civil service for efficient productivity. We can not afford to go back to the streets. Thanks your Excellency, for the opportunity of the scheme, Thanks for also listening to our plights, Thanks for your prompt and favourable actions in that regards .
