Hamachi:As for me, no more tb. 5yr bond perfectly suite my plan. |
Hamachi:The decision is yours to make, if you can trust your sister with your fund why not. As for exchange rate the cedis is bar far outperforming the ailing Naira (think is about 1-to-67) But don't be quick to take any action, I'm very sure in coming days information going round pointed to fact that some investment house are thinking in that direction and willing to cash in fast to assist would be investors in Ghana tb. Who knows that might make our flip-flop CBN gov have a rethink. |
conyema12:Sample from crowdyvest

Adiwana:Ghana is currently doing 19.5% for 364 days. You can try your luck, some Nigerian bank like Ecobank, UBA and GTB has earned themselves good name in the Ghanaian market. Please note you will require a recidency permit to open an account with any bank in Ghana |
Diogo2019:'any business' is generic. Aside your 1st degree and nysc descaherge cert, what other skill set do you have?. On a more serious note I personally believe it will be difficult to get help this way. I mean by just jumping on a discussion. If you were my younger one, I will advise you go and mentor some people who are self employed since getting good job is almost impossible if you don't have big politician as s father. There millions of things you can learn at this age, I watch a clip of one young man that established garri processing factory in his village after service and he's doing really well, such venture is what I can assist with. As for white collarjob it's difficult securing one. |
feelamong:Present investment future look gloomy, remember Emefiele has been druming it to whoever cares to listen that tough days are ahead. Hasn't reached the bottom yet, so rebound not coming any time soon. This really calls for concern. With some idle fund, tenants are already paying up, 13th month salary will soon enter, one really need to look elsewhere for opportunities. And I've had enough commitment already with digital agric, never been lucky with stock (guess not my thing). Time to plan a vacation with my family rather than succumb to paltery 9%. Then wait till all my tb matured and switch to bond, then will be using the interest for digital agric, MMF and school fees. Perhaps one can also look the way of helping some idle but enterprising youth. Had some discussion but they all want salary job. |
healthserve:Megida, people kept mute because you are becoming a nuisance and irritating. You sure don't know when you've overstayed your welcome. Come on, get a life. As for the legal threats, pls go ahead. Mind you this forum is not entirely faceless, every post you made is accompanied buy your device IP add, NIC and mac-address so proceed with your litigation |
needful:Perhaps it's time to look in the direction of Digital_Agric => Crowdyvest, Agrorite etc. But I still can't commit good money to these newbies. Currently testing the waters with few millions |
More facts are beginning to emerge for the reason behind CBN banned on OMO for Nigerians. Reports has it that out of the $40billion external reserve, $17b belongs to foreign investors. Recall topmost on Emefiele's STI is keeping the exchange rate at 360 (avoid devaluation). Hence CBN want those that can bring in the $. And only allow banks in case foreign investors decide to sell at secondary mkt. The effect of this is that corporate bodies and wealthy individuals will be forced to do TBill which will be offered at lower rates |
Whose gonna hurt the most with new CBN directives to bank: govt or the citizenry? I see this as an overkill. Emefiele led team has been coming up with policy summersaults lately, seems he never learn from past five years... In a circular released today (Oct. 24) with number FMD/DIR/GEN/OGC/14/010, titled “LETTER TO ALL BANKS, RE: OPEN MARKET OPERATIONS AUCTIONS”, the CBN said: “Please note that the restriction on Open Market Operations Bill purchase by DOMESTIC corporates (inclusive of non-bank financial institutions) and individuals applies to both primary and secondary market activities.” “We don’t want to leave room for arbitrage,” central bank spokesman Isaac Okorafor said in a text message to Bloomberg. It will discourage banks from giving loans to “speculators” who want to buy government securities instead of investing in the “real economy.” The image-maker of the apex bank said the measures are in line with a wider policy to penalize banks that don’t boost lending. OMO is a liquidity management tool used by the CBN to control the volume of money in circulation. A central bank injects or withdraws liquidity in its currency through the banks by buying or selling government bonds. In recent years, however, the OMO window has become another avenue for local investors and non-banks to benefit from attractive rates on the bills, starving the real sector of much-need credit. |
silentone:Caveat Emptor. Latin for "let the buyer beware." A doctrine that often places on buyers the burden to reasonably examine property before purchase and take responsibility for its condition. Especially applicable to items that are not covered under a strict warranty. It simply places the onus on the buyer to do his due diligent before making purchase decision/commitment. |
silentone:I have descent investment with Crowdyvest, +ve testimonies from colleagues cum genuine personal investigation informed my decision. I've had them on my radar for a while though. I was convinced with practical proof before investing with them. I also have sizable stake with Agrorite which has higher ROI and invariably higher risk. But more importantly, there's a caveats emptor attached to the post. |
Sonwa:Nowadays, it is mandatory for bank to visit your residential address while trying to open an account for you. But I'll advise you yo keep your relationship with the bank CS strictly professional before you run into trouble. I once experienced this with access, I became too nice with the boy at the CS desk. Once they know your worth, they get your attention by becoming hyper efficient, going extra mile to give you undue privilege (VIP) service, which I wasn't enjoying anyway. He requested for few assistance which I granted. He would later make it a habit, sending series of txt msg to solicit for cash transfers, the last was when he was calling me endlessly to assist him with 1yr rent. it was then I moved my money out of their bank. |
eagleeye2:Simply have a will/testament in place, it doesn't cost much. Studies have it that 80% of Nigerian don't have a will. Having one in place doesn't mean you will soon die. To ensure your hard earn wealth or sweat does not end up in wrong hands or forfeited to banks and govt. Pls have a will. The law doesn't recognize next or kin, in addition you can do your next of kin a whole lot of good by having a will. You don't want to imagine what next of kin go through before they can access your fund when you're long gone. In most cases govt charge exorbitant fees to get necessary doc before they can access the fund. I have witnessed first hand the devastating effect of not having a will by friends and colleagues. Come to think of it, it does not cost much to have one in place. After a thorough search, I found United Capital (trustees) ideal for me, and i just started mine. It cost only 17k. No reoccurring annual fee. I spent way above that on beer daily. |
Hallenjay:You can activate option to acknowledge your bid via email - request for a soft copy of the bid-form, fill and scanned back to them. This is what I often use. Digressing a little, big congratulations to Israel Adesanya now undisputed UFC middleweight championship. Rob Whittaker was no match. Stayed awake all-night. |
RealityShot:I'll advice you to do your due diligent with your bank before investing, it's not cheap to maintain $ account. You deposit money, you are charged commission, you withdraw same charge applies, you withdraw penalty applies, even when you receive or send money online you incur charges. At the end of the day, IF Naira is not badly depreciated, you might end up losing sizable part of your money. Below is the current rate

[quote Sit back and do the math.. You put 360k/1000$ in Eurobond @ 9% = 33k Dollar rises to N 400 great!! No!! Your 1k$ = 400k and your interest = 36k ONLY! @400/$ BS! Meanwhile, 360k @12% in Tbills = 43k Show me the gain of doing EuroBonds (you might end up buying $ @370 anyway)[/quote]Let us debate more on the eurobond vs Ngr Tbill. Personally I've made some investigation, the cost of running a dom account is very high, you deposits, the bank charges you, you withdraw you pay commission. Some banks charge as high as 5% commission. At the end of my critical analysis and consultation I've settled for Tbill for now because I can't see $ risen above N400 to $1. Hence it doesn't Worth the stress and risk, one can even end up being dupped by buying fake dollars, since bank won't sell you $. |
janga:The official figure is not yet out, not even on CBN website. I detailed Stanbic to bid for me 365 days), money already deducted and from my calculation it's around 12.9X%. They even sent me a text to exercise patience till tomorrow for proper advise. |
Finelinks:There is no one size fits all when it come to investment, and I believe no one want to win this argument. Be it building for investment, TBill or what have you. Have a plan and follow it diligently. Each has its pros and con. I started building my first house in my home town a yr after my youth service and it took me 5 whopping years to complete, in the process I learnt some lessons but no regret, it made me wiser and thought me some lessons as well. Later on in life when I moved to Lagos and met an entirely different terrain. I could recall going on bended knee with my money at hand but my then landlady won't allow me to renew my rent. Never knew that was the standing rule in that house. You can't possibly stay more than 2yrs even if you work in CBN. Moving from one house or area has its effect on family, children's education etc. I was lucky to have heard of Tbill early in life. Luckily a better house directly opp her's was put up for sale, what did I do, I liquidated my entire Tbill investment and bought the house. It came at a cost, but I had to prove something to the woman. The fulfilment that comes with owning your own house can't be quantified, It was like a rebirth and I can plan better not to mention the huge respect you gain from the society. So let every one chart a course he/she believe is best and walk the talk. |
I'm hoping 02/10/2019 Tbill rate climbed to 14% amidst speculation of Naira devaluation. 2019 rates at a glance.

Dear House, With current economic climate in Nigeria, I contemplating switching from TBill to Eurobonnd. Though i know the A-Z of TBill but have little knowledge of the later, I've been to Stanbic to do some research and was told I will need to open a domiciliary account which is a current account, from my experience with current a/c in Nigeria, I'm aware it attract some form of maintenance fees. Which will be more profitable Eurobond or TBill, I don't want to lose my hard earned savings due to the looming devaluation, I can't stand another situation whereby the Naira will shed huge chunk of its value to devaluation. I've few more years to retirement. Honest professional advised needed. |
