Julius1995: Alaye shut up. I am a Yoruba. Go and listen to Yoruba Ronu and Oro Sunukun by Gbenga Adeboye, he said same thing times and time again, especially in his Yoruba Ronu records. And that was a time when there was really no Internet nor were we this divided o. And I tell you Gbenga Adeboye is by far more Yoruba than fraudulent characters like Tinubu, because I know it is shallow Tinubu supporters who hold this dishonest position. Gbenga also talk about how Yoruba in our betrayal nature betrayed Dipo Diya and exposed him to death. You guy are just bunch of ignorant, arrogant and hungry imbeciles who thinks themselves something because they support a BAT who has not root in Yoruba land. Am I your mate? IGBOPROMISE1: To start with we are not and can never be friends or brothers!
Dude, anyone from any part of Nigeria is free to contest elections in any part of Alaigbo or the south-east, and if they manage to convince the electorate on the plans and vision they have for the people, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be voted into office! That being said…are there some idiotic Igbo that equally share your bigoted, selfish annd hypocritical approach to politics at the sub-national level? Sure there are! And it’s your hypocritical ilk that best make the case for those of us who believe Nigeria is being forced to exist on fraudulent or weak foundations, and has long since past it use by date!
Given the history and peculiar nature of African ethnic groups, and issues of domination/control and territory that are usually part of the conversation involving politics and governance on the continent, even i can make the case for a preference for political office holders to emerge from within the group that’s indigenous to the place in question! However a nuanced assessment needs to be made for each situation to take into account other considerations or variables that are peculiar to each case! Zeroing in on Nigeria, any honest assessment will lead one to the conclusion that Abuja and Lagos are unique cases, therefore politics and governance should be treated differently in these sub-national units and have a PAN-NIGERIAN flavour in contrast to other sub-national units like say Anambra, Ogun, Kano, Plateau or Rivers states. If i see any Igbo going to contest the gubernatorial position in say Kano, i’d understand, even if i don’t agree with it, if Kano indigenes tell him in no uncertain terms where to go! I would recognise his constitutional right to contest said election, but even i would advise him against it for the reasons i stated above!
However, the issue changes when it comes to Abuja or Lagos that are the common patrimony of ALL Nigerians, as they were built and developed with the efforts and resources of ALL Nigerians! When the capital of the country moved to Abuja from Lagos in the early 90s, did the Yoruba ethnicity repay the different ethnic groups and regions of Nigeria all the billions of dollars worth of infrastructure, preferential federal gov’t policies and attention that was channeled towards Lagos to the detriment of other component parts of the country!? If the Yoruba haven’t or are yet to make full payment, then YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DEMAND THAT THE REST OF NIGERIA SHOULD HANDS OFF LAGOS AND LEAVE ITS POLITICS AND GOVERNANCE SOLELY IN THE HANDS OF THE YORUBA ETHNIC GROUP! Making such a demand from one corner of your mouth while using the other corner to scream ’one Nigeria like your life depends on it shows on your part a crass display of greed, covetousness, shamelessness, parasitism and parapoism!
This entire issue takes a more sinister colouration when it’s a fellow Yoruba you’re working to sabotage his gubernatorial ambitions for Lagos just because his Mum is Igbo! Forget all those useless ‘excuses’ you’re putting out there that you don’t want him because he ‘abused’ whoever or whatever! That’s just trying to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it! Whatever he may have said would have most certainly been directed at selfish xenophobes like your ilk, who use Yoruba parapoism to pull wool over the eyes of naive and unsuspecting Yoruba people just so you can protect the political and economic hegemonic interests of you Iragbiji godfather against the lawful political ambitions of a true Lagos indigene! I suspect Giannis Antetokumbo has seen how the irascible Iragbiji set are giving the wider Yoruba nation a bad name over the GRV issue, and having similar ethnic heritage as GRV, he would be able to empathise with his position and made then made the conscious decision to distance himself from you lot! He or his brothers are probably on here observing proceedings as we speak!
You want to keep Lagos for yourselves, yet want our oyel and gas to be shared by all component parts using large and useless landmass and questionable population numbers which would obviously leave the south-east holding the short end of the stick! You want VAT to be shared based on 50% derivation (or whatever the figure is) which you know will disproportionately benefit Lagos state, yet smugly sit by and chuckle quietly as the oyel producing states get a miserly 13% for their troubles!
Fact of the matter is you want ’one Nigeria’ only to the extent that it primarily services the economic, political and territorial interests of the Yoruba and your Fulani allies, and this possibly explains why you detest Mazi Kanu and IPOB so passionately! Lagos belonged to Southwest people. Abuja belonged to Gwari tribe. It's a pity the Gwari tribes are minority to demand for their right. Probably because it's the present FCT. Lagos is no longer FCT and has paid back to FG all development done their since 1912. About GRV, no one is denying him post to contest. But you don't talk like you owe your people nothing and want to govern over them. In all, you need to know how to play politics if each location. It is the key to survival. Stop using excuses of Lagos as former FCT when it has always been a flourishing part of Southwest since ancient times. |

Most of the countries in BRICS are communist leaning and nothing good has ever come out of communism. Every peon country in it will be taken advantage of by China, the member countries won’t have it easy with the West, and it will end badly. IGBOPROMISE1: Will you shut up!
It's funny how you Yoruba ethnic supremacists and bigoted lot are not equally quick to feel possessive and independent minded over Lagos when it comes to Nigeria pouring billions of dollars worth of investments and giving it preferential treatement over other states in the country! You sit and keep quiet...watching as Lagos receives benefits and advantages over and above other states, then spring into action to claim its governance and politics all for yourselves! This shamless greed you lot are exhibiting is all about trying to protect what you see as your godfather Tinubus' 'asset' of which you, his acolytes and hangers-on, equally selfishly benefit from by association!
What's giving you the effrontry to be this bold and brazen in your greed, xenophobia and attempts and cheating others is 'one Nigeria' and your belief that so long as Nigeria continues to exist, you can continue your thieving of Lagos gov't coffers and continue controlling its politics through thuggery and elecion manipulation/rigging!
You base your stake and 'ownership' of Lagos on THE ERRONEOUS CLAIM YOU INVENTED THAT LAGOS CAN ONLY BE GOVERNED BY YORUBAS', while at the same time overlooking and ignoring THE LEGITIMATE CLAIM OF OTHERS THAT THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION GIVES ALL NIGERIANS THE RIGHT TO CONTEST ELECTIONS AND VOTE IN ALL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY! You want other Nigerians to hands off Lagos, while at the same time ignoring the calls of indigenous Lagosians for non-Lagosians (including the Iragbiji set) to hands off governance of the state and leave it for them! You two-faced and hypocritical 'one Nigerianists' are sick in the head and need help! All your abused are ignored my friend. We are brothers you don't need to let your blood pressure rise. But in all you said, can this constitution of Nigeria that you claimed allowed you to contest in all part of the country give you a chance to support someone not from your tribe to contest in your tribe's state? Or simply put can someone not from your state contest in your state? Can you give us statistics of how you yourself have been detribalized? Practice what you preach. If you can't, hug transformer. Lagos belonged to Yorubas. They dictate what they have. If change of govt should occur, the Yorubas there will decide. In whatever way these words may hurt you, just take a glass of water and move on. |
