though i am not a generator expert i do have knowledge of what a capacitor does in the electronic circuit. In this case the function of the capacitor is to smooth out the ripple output from the generator's coil into a real sign waves signal.
Your phone charger only recognizes an ac signal ( same as sign wave signal). The output from the generator sets might not be good ac signal enough for the charger to convert into a Dc signal at its output end where its is required for the charging of the phone.

The solution there is this. if you operate a hotel in any part of the country where power supply is not stable. Get a hybrid power supply solution not just solar system ooo. A hybrid power solution is a power system which synchronizes all available sources of power to achieve availability of power supply and cost efficiency of the same. only the expert in the field can help you do this. Just look for one and contact him or her.
You will thank me later. This can cut your power supply expenditure down drastically even up to 40% monthly.
There are power supply consultants who can as well assist in getting a third party institution to fund your project while you pay back monthly for payment tenors up to 6 years with other flexibility and at the end the monthly payback amount will be far bellow your current monthly expenditure on power supply alone. When you approach a professional you will see that installing solar is easy and also affordable expecially for hotel business people.
