I noticed that the office 2014 Ford F150 has been moving sluggishly. I asked the service people about the oil type they use. To my horror, it seems they use any roadside oil they find. I've had them check the oil cap and behold, it's 5w20 oil required.
I think we can use the Toyota Oil 5w20 on it? If so, please let me send someone down to come take two cartons immediately

I know autotrader2...used it when I bought the corolla newly but some engine oil provides similar performance like Mobil 20W-50 XHP and is readily available. Had to switch based on research and recommendation. But if prospective buyers are in doubt...they should please go for the one recommended by Toyota.

I seriously doubt a 20w50 oil would provide similar performance and protection like a 5w20 or 5w30. I hope you realize what you are doing to your engine. Good luck with that

Please educate your mechanics to stop giving harmful oil advice. You cannot be using 20w50 oil in modern engines and expect good results. Most likely, your engine will pack up in the long run.

As for me, I use Genuine Toyota Motor Oil 5w20 for my Lexus GX70 and other cars. The performance is unbelievable. I have used Nigerian Mobil-1 and trust me, it doesn't even come close to the performance and protection I experience with the Genuine Toyota Oil. This is the US Toyota Oil I'm talking about not the one from Abu Dhabi .

Most of the Asian and Middle Eastern models for the Prado come with engines that can handle both 5w30 and 5w20 oil.

My best bet is to use 5w20 since the model is still fairly very new.

Yes, he has called. He can switch easily to the recommended Toyota Motor Oil 5w20. I believe he's sending someone to pick up two cartons this afternoon.

Ok some updates on the RX350 that was serviced with Toyota 5w20 oil.

First thing that happened was the quietness of the engine after servicing. It was almost impossible to tell the engine was on from the outside. You can only tell when you notice the dashboard lights on. That is very impressive.
Second thing is the ease of acceleration. Engine seems to have a new lease of life and breathing very well. It moves without inhibition. It actually seems to be floating when accelerating . Only the speedometer reading will tell you to slow down.
All in all, This US Spec Toyota Motor Oil 5w20 is the best oil ever used on that RX350. My friend and I recommend it 100%. That is what we are using exclusively from now on. Go and get it now and experience the difference

Autotrader2, I'm back again. My friend has this 2012 Lexus RX 350. The manual says 5w20 or 0w20 to be used as the engine oil. However, he has been using a different grade, i believe mobil-1 0w40. He wants to switch to the recommended OEM oil.

I hope he can do that without any issues with the engine. He'll call you in a bit to get the Toyota Motor Oil 5w20
