National Spokesperson, Nigeria Correctional Service, Francis Enobore has confirmed that the alleged killer of SuperTV CEO, Chidinma Ojukwu won 'Miss Cell 2022'.

It was reported earlier that the suspect whose trial is still ongoing, won the beauty pageant held at Kirikiri correctional facility to mark the 2022 International Women’s Day.

Commenting on the development, Enobore said it is part of the Nigerian prison reformation and rehabilitation programme and to also keep the inmates in a sound and good spirit.

He also revealed that to keep inmates in a high spirit, the correctional centres engage them in exciting competitions likes; pageantry, cooking competitions among others.

The prison spokesperson said;

“What happened is that as part of our reformation and rehabilitation programme and to also keep the inmates in a sound and good spirit, we organise a number of social engagement amongst them. Some could be recreational activities, some could be theatre work like entertainment.

“There are a number of programs that we introduced to get the inmates happy and put them in a good frame of mind. First, we ensure that while they are there, they are open to correction, second, we ensure that they are there in good spirit in order to help them kill boredom. There are so many things we do. In line with this, the officer in charge of the Kirikiri correctional facility organised some competitions among the inmates like cooking, tailoring, make-up, among others.

“These are things that will make them happy because our primary responsibility is to keep them safe and sound. That was what happened and she emerged the best in the competition. It is part of what we do. In fact, the person in charge of the Kirikiri female prison has been doing marvellously well.”

Yesterday's Abuja federal high court judgement sacking governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state and his deputy for defecting to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) after being elected on the platform of the PDP, just dealt a mortal blow to the presidential ambition of the civil engineer-turned politician..

Even if he files his appeal and stay of execution this very minute, I'm certain the appeal will ultimately end in the Apex court and there is little chance that it would be conclusively decided before the APC primaries. No party wants to field a Presidential candidate that is not sure of his status. No matter how you look at it, it is a lose lose for Umahi.

But then, it will help lay to rest the controversy surrounding whether or not an office holder elected on the platform of a political party can, while his tenure still subsists, jump to another political party and still retain his mandate acquired through votes which the court has since ruled belong to the political party, not the candidate.

On a lighter note, someone had better check on governor Ayade of Cross River and his colleague in Zamfara and numberless national as well as state assembly members who are all sitting on this table.
APC have zoned presidency to the south and vice president to the North East, what is the Hope of Dave Umahi's presidential ambition?

We want to go home -Nigerian students still stuck in sumy Ukraine cry out. They increased the price of taxi, they want us to pay almost 2 million naira for a journey of 2 hours, though it's costly we agreed to pay but they locked us in the hostel. We have not taken out bath (showered) for three days, there's no light in the hostel they gave us, there's nothing in the hostel they gave us, our patience is running out, this place is not safe, every single day some of us have mental trauma, we can't even hear doors closing without someone running, if someone closes the door out of fear, we'll be running, we have nothing to do with this war, Ukraine is not our country, if it's our country and if we're fighting for our country we'll understand, please all we want is just to go home, we're in so much pain, we're in so much trauma, many of us after this war might not be able to live normally, please and please let us just go Home. Everywhere is blocked, we are calling on everyone to help us get out, we are stranded and we are stuck. However defending herself after the backlash that trailed the video, the actress said she will never encourage girls to be side chicks to married or single men. She claimed that she was taken out of context as some parts of the video was cut off by ”mischievous persons.”

According to Mercy Aigbe, the video shared on Valentine’s Day was meant to be a fun video for everyone to laugh and also get her message. She added that she was encouraging married men to stay faithful to their wives because if they don’t, they will get extorted by their side chicks.

The actress stated that she always tells girls they can get way more than what they get from married men when they work on their own because there is dignity in labour. Mercy also averred that everything she owns is from her sweat and everything said about her when the first video went viral is not who she is.
