In John 14: 8-10, Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been to you so long, and yet, you have not known Me, Philip? It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. |
The Lord is our strenght; in times of goodness or trouble. The Lord is our strenght. |
Jesus tells His disciples that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. But what did that saying really mean for them, and what does it mean for us? This conversation happens on the last night before the crucifixion, during the Passover meal. Before this, Jesus had washed the disciple’s feet, predicted his betrayal by Judas, predicted his denial by Peter, and told the disciples he would soon be going away (John 13). All of this prompted questions about where Jesus was going, and why it was that they couldn’t follow with him: John 14 "'And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.' Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?' Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ..' |

We often hear the phrase, “God is good.” It is used in songs, sermons, and is sometimes used as a response when both good and bad things happen in our lives, for example: a person who avoids tragedy due to car trouble or a delayed flight. Other examples are good things that happen to people, like circumstances aligning perfectly for them to buy a house or replace their old car when previously things looked very bleak. In all these things, we often say, “God is good.” |
'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.' - Romans 12:1. Our body is the temple of God. We must keep it holy all the time. |

Jesus, the Son of God is the hope and salvation of believers. He is our fortress. Jesus is Lord. |
Jesus was called the Good Shepherd because he called himself the good shepherd in the Gospel of John. His claim to this title is not casual by any means. In fact, Jesus’ claim to be the Good Shepherd has a meaning that is both deep and wide. Jesus the Good Shepherd: John 10 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me — just as the Father knows me and I know the Father — and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd..." |
Jesus is life. Jesus is the rock of salvation. Jesus is Lord. |
Romans 8:35 says: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or unclothedness or danger or sword." The answer is NOTHING. I stand for Christ. I must live by christ. |
Be assured, He is with you in whatever you face, in the turmoil and struggles, amidst the anxious thoughts and the worries of life. He is there, strengthening, helping, and He holds you in His hands. God is greater. He gives us the power to live courageously, boldly, fearlessly in this life, when many things that surround us would tell us to be afraid. His truth whispers strong and sure to the deepest core of our spirits. “Do not fear.” All of that stuff on your mind? Give it to Him – again. Replace those fearful thoughts with His words of truth. And sleep in peace tonight. He knows what concerns you, He’s got you covered. Peace. |
