Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the mere Abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus.”

Genocide is defined as "the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group",[1] though what constitutes enough of a "part" to qualify as genocide has been subject to much debate by legal scholars.[2] While a precise definition varies among genocide scholars, a legal definition is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."[3]

Sounds very much like what Prophet Mo (Salawhatever) did (Genocide) to the polytheists of Mecca, the Jews of Yathrib (Banu Qurayza) and is conveyed throughout the Quran based on the false premise that Mo' somehow had the "word" of god. Meanwhile, where were his witnesses or evidence that Prophet Mo' was getting his info from Angel jibril/god?  But to bring it into the modern world, it is this nonsensical Islamic Supremicist bs that is rife in the so called "Holy" Quaran that breeds radical Islamists like Boko Haram, Al Qaeda and the likes to pick up arms and try to fight for god. Na wa for una, you guys are so delusional that you post ish on here that is completely intolerant and yet try to sell it to folk like say na peaceful something.

How about living in peace with your neighbors whether they are polytheists, atheists, muslim, agnostic, jew or christians? Ever heard about such a concept? These quotes that you are sharing just show the barbarism thats in these so called "holy" books. Who are you to demand people to move or accept your religion? Lets switch this around a bit and see if you find these quotes "holy" or wise,

When you meet your enemies who are muslims, invite them to three courses of action.
If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of Muhajirs and inform them that, if they do so, they shall have all the privileges and obligations of the Muhajirs

We've been trying to tell these numbskulls to wake up and smell the coffee. God never helped the church goers at the christmas day bombings and allah didnt help the muslims when Israel or western powers show them pepper or when their fellow pschofanatics blow up their mosques. Thanks for sharing this article.

"The human being in early times was almost na.ked.With the development of his thought over time he began to wear clothes. What I am today and what I wear Is the height of intellect and sophistication reached by man through the ages, not backwardness.Unclothedness is a sign of backwardness and human thinking going back to early times".

unclothedness is not a sign of backwardness as humans wear clothing Or the lack thereof that they adapt to their environment. More grease to her elbows for what she is doing but her aforementioned statement is a load of crap. Secondly, it's funny how a bunch of west Africans are jumping to support some Yemeni lady while 2 Liberian women also won the award. Lastly, why do these Muslim folk keep talking about child molestation and sexual deviance as if it is only a Christian problem? Several imams have been caught physically and sexually abusing young boys and girls. Pedophilia is institutionalized in Islam as there is no age limit for marriage, our dear senator from the North that married a 13 year old egyptian.

I am so proud of the Nigerian freethinking community on Nairaland (Harakiri et all). You don't let this religous fanatics slide, they get  checked every single time. You guys/gals are AWESOME and give me a lot of hope for our country. It isn't a lot of minds needed to move a society forward, just a few. We are those few that will plant the seeds of rational thinking and reason in the people.

Frosbel and co, you cannot use the bible to affirm that people are fools because they don't believe in your Jewish god of war that is circular reasoning.

Circular reasoning is a formal logical fallacy in which the proposition to be proved is assumed implicitly or explicitly in one of the premises. For example:

"Only an untrustworthy person would run for office. The fact that politicians are untrustworthy is proof of this."

Such an argument is fallacious, because it relies upon its own proposition — "politicians are untrustworthy" — in order to support its central premise. Essentially, the argument assumes that its central point is already proven, and uses this in support of itself.

Circular reasoning is different from the informal logical fallacy "begging the question", as it is fallacious due to a flawed logical structure and not the individual falsity of an unstated hidden co-premise as begging the question is.

Not sure why ppl keep talking abt the US and the west, is it not the Arab world that called on the west to bomb Ghadaffi's targets and the Libyans themselves that picked up arms and killed The Colonel? Stop with your western conspiracy theories! Libyans killed Ghadaffi, because in the least they could come to an agreement of how o run their country.

^^^^Understand the principles of critical thinking include the willingness to criticize oneself. Vandallcools (or any religious persons) inability to criticize their religious moral framework, Holy Books, prophets etc display a strong case that he is not a critical thinker or using rationality and reason to reach a well-justified conclusion.
Religion / Re: Why Christians/Muslims Get Offended By Atheists by divinereal: 4:40pm On Oct 17, 2011
^^^^Another silly response from an extremist that thinks an arabian nights/tales ideology has the answer to the worlds problems and is the word of "god".

Your argument that I am the one who is indoctrinated is a misleading notion and utterly baseless. Unlike you Vandalcool, my value system and (and possibly the rest of the free thinking crew) is based on critical self evaluation and reason, not on any book, doctrine or dogma. I do not hold on to religious or cultural ideas if they do not make sense or are not functional in the modern world. You on the other hand belief in "absolute" truths from the koran, your prohet and islamic doctrine. You try to emulate his actions and adopt his morality and world view. Now that is the classic definition of INDOCTRINATION. You know why you are indoctrinated? I can give one good example. Here answer this question -  Can you give your analysis on some of the possibly percieved negative things that  prophet Mohammed did in is lifetime? What about this simple question, what could be some negative effects of women wearing a hijab/niqab or its impractically in the modern world? Or name some negative effects of Islam (even if it is interpreted wrong by terrorists) on the rest of the world? Unlike you I can discuss the negative and positive aspects of Religion, Agnosticism, Atheism, Science etc. But you on the other hand hold on to absolute truths from a 7th century society and "prophet".

If christian, muslims, traditional worshippers, Americans, Nigerians, Kenyans or Chinese have a practical solution to a problem or issue I can adopt it into my moral framework. Likewise, if they have a impractical, problematic or inhumane cultural/religious practice then I do away with it. That alone proves that I am NOT INDOCTRINATED. My life, morality and decisions do not have to fit into a religious context or identity. I am who I am, I make my decisions based on reason and not dogma.

My morality transcends religion, race, tribe and culture and is a constant work in progress based on newly available scientific evidence not based on the world view of bronze age men and societies.

I saw my name some where in your back and forth correspondence, so I had to respond small.

The Qur'an remains the proof that indeed Muhammad pbuh, a man known not to be learned, received revelation from Allah, the other time bovinereal, sorry divinereal asked why the Qur'an did not specify the weight of the earth, I only wonder which claim is more .  .  .,   statement from Mullah Islam himself, Uncle Vedaxcool (pbuh) shocked

Vedaxcool, this is concept your infantile mind refuses to grasp:

Indoctrination is the process of inculcating ideas, attitudes, cognitive strategies or a professional methodology (see doctrine).[1] It is often distinguished from education by the fact that the indoctrinated person is expected not to question or critically examine the doctrine they have learned.[2] As such the term may be used pejoratively, often in the context of education, political opinions, theology or religious dogma. Instruction in the scientific method, in particular, cannot properly be called indoctrination, in the sense that the fundamental principles of science call for critical self-evaluation and skeptical scrutiny of one's own ideas, a stance outside any doctrine.[3] In practice, however, a certain level of non-rational indoctrination, usually seen as miseducative, is invariably present.[4] The term is closely linked to socialization; in common discourse, indoctrination is often associated with negative connotations, while socialization refers to cultural or educational learning

Mazaje (sp) has been owning you the whole time, nuff said. Read up on the french philosopher Descartes to understand how to differentiate btw reality and myth.  I will leave you to marinate on that one for a minute. Your barbarian bedouin arabian myths, ideologies and superstitions  do not pass the scientific method test period.

Nigeria ranked 41 out of 53!!!!!!
I was also shocked to find out that the life expectancy in Nigeria is a dismal 48 years!!!! It was one of the worst life expectancies on the continent. Behind Togo!
Almost dead last in infrastructure only ahead of Somalia, Comoros, Guinea and Congo DRC!!
3rd to the last for health, only better than Somalia and Chad!!!

To those Nigerians chopping our collective wealth, see what your contracts and ill gotten wealth do to a nation?

We can't even walk with our heads high on the continent of Africa, talk less of on the global stage. Nigeria needs a revolution!!

Why didn't you add Charles Darwin to the list? He was a devout Christian and creationist until he stumbled on evolution.

Secondly, your assertion is baseless as many of these scientists had no choice but to profess religious devotion in the middle ages as death was the punishment for blasphemy. Galileo was imprisoned for contradicting the bible with the heliocentrism.

I personally am not anti religion but anti dogma, freedom of thought and expression allows for the best human ideas to surface.

One of the last statements in the documentary is profound and states, "These kinds of atrocities could only be perpetuated in a nation where life has little value and the govt healthcare is a complete failure leaving the masses at the mercies of charlatans."

This is indeed very sad.
