4. David James – English (Goalkeeper)


He declared himself bankrupt in May 2014 despite earning an estimated £20m from his footballing career, owning several properties and having a lucrative modelling contract.

Six months on and the man appointed by the courts to oversee his bankruptcy has been instructed to sell off a whole host of David’s sports memorabilia and other personal items including exercise machines, DJ equipment and even a Vauxhall Astra van.

3. Lee Hendrie – English (midfielder)


Hengrie started his senior career at Aston Villa before joining other 16 clubs ahead of his retirement. This instantly sends them a notification, even if they’ve muted the conversation.

Google wants every public place on the planet to have fast Wi-Fi service

Less than one year after Google began connecting railway stations in India with free Wi-Fi service, the company introduced a similar program to bring fast Wi-Fi service across the world. The company plans to bring fast Wi-Fi service to cafes, malls and all other places with a new initiative it calls Google Station.


At company's second installment of Google for India event in New Delhi today, Caesar Sengupta, VP of Google’s Next Billion Plan said the company is opening the platform to anyone and everyone who has a good internet connection.

About 50 million people around the world suffer from epilepsy - a condition where sufferers experience violent seizures that sometimes lead to physical injuries.

Those seizures are difficult to predict in advance, so it's often hard to diagnose sufferers as they often occur when medical staff aren't present. But now a pair of French startups named Dataiku and Bioserenity have partnered to create a wearable device that can monitor patients at home in real-time.

In The Brain

The system, which is called "Neuronaute", combines smart clothing equipped with biometric sensors, a mobile app that processes the data, and a cloud platform called Medata.lab for analysing that data and sharing it with doctors. It allows for continuous EEG recording, giving neurologists a glimpse into what's going on in the patient's brain.

"Data shared through the cloud can be accessed at any time by the doctor in charge of the patient," writes Bioserenity on its website. "The doctor can use the data for an optimized diagnosis and can view the response to a medical treatment and adjust it accordingly in real time."

Two men have appeared in court charged with offences under the Gambling Act in what is believed to be the first prosecution involving betting on video games.

Craig Douglas and Dylan Rigby, who are both from Essex, are charged with promoting a lottery and advertising unlawful gambling.

Mr Douglas makes gaming videos on YouTube under the pseudonym Nepenthez.

The 2016-17 Champions League group stage get under way this week, with Cristiano Ronaldo facing an emotional reunion with boyhood club Sporting Lisbon when his Real Madrid begin the defence of the Champions League on Wednesday while Arsenal traveling to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic going to the Camp Nou for a date with Barcelona.

Tesla will update its cars' Autopilot function with new safety features designed to prevent collisions, the company has announced.

Chief executive Elon Musk told reporters on Sunday that his cars would soon make greater use of the on-board radar to detect obstacles ahead.

The car will also do more to make sure drivers are paying attention while in self-driving mode.

A Tesla driver died earlier this year when the technology missed a lorry.

As part of the update to self-driving mode, if repeated warnings to hold the steering wheel are ignored, the vehicle will need to be parked before the autonomous functions can be re-engaged.

When drivers activate Autopilot, the car takes control - keeping pace with traffic and even changing lanes. The 200-plus additions to the software come as it is being investigated by the US road safety regulator.

A Tesla driver was killed in May when the car he was driving hit a lorry that had been turning left - Autopilot was unable to spot the white trailer against the bright sky.

No date has been announced for the conclusion of the investigation, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration told the BBC.

Cristiano Ronaldo struck 16 goals in the Champions League last season as Real Madrid claimed the title - but none of the teams he scored against have qualified for this season's competition.

The Portuguese forward hit a hat-trick (which included two penalties) in the 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk as Madrid kicked off their campaign with a resounding result in September at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He then scored both as Rafa Benitez's side won 2-0 away to Malmo at the end of the same month, but was unable to hit the target home or away against Paris Saint-Germain in a goalless game at the Parc des Princes and a fortuitous 1-0 win at the Bernabeu in which Nacho netted the only goal.

The 31-year-old scored twice as Madrid beat Shakhtar 4-3 in Ukraine, before bagging four in an 8-0 victory at home to Malmo.

In the knockout stages under Zinedine Zidane, he converted a goal in both legs against Roma (2-0 each time), before hitting a hat-trick against Wolfsburg to turn the tie in Real's favour following a shock 2-0 loss in Germany.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reiterated his ambition to win the title this season, playing down suggestions that Saturday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City will be decisive in terms of the race for the Premier League title.

Manchester United head into the Manchester derby in great form; winning all four of their competitive matches this season, including the one they beat Leicester City 2-1 to win the Community Shield.

Many Football fans think that tomorrow’s 172nd Manchester derby will be all about of Mourinho and nemesis Pep Guardiola, But despite the sub-plot of their history, Mourinho insists that the decisive factors will be the personnel on the pitch.

“I am normal. For us, it is a game and for me especially it is a game. We are playing to try and win the title. When you do this there is no match more important than another one when it comes to this stage of the season,” Mourinho told reporters.

“I know what a derby means for everyone; I’ve played derbies everywhere, in every country, in so many cities. I always want to be in the position of emotional control because for me it is just a game against a very good opponent.
