The story of Jim Iyke having a new love partner in the person of top model, Sarah Benede has been over-flooded, and the actor has made no attempt to deny it. Rather, he shared a picture of himself carrying a new born baby with the caption, “I’m a misunderstood person. What’s misunderstood ? The fact they think I’m not misunderstood!! I can’t wait for you my unborn child. My love will redefine fullness. My protectiveness will last a lifetime. My joy will know no boundaries. Lord bears witness”

Sports / Ghana Coach Goran Stevanovic Confirm Juju Use In Black Stars Camp by djones: 10:07am On Feb 23, 2012
Under fire Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has revealed that some Black Stars players resorted to the use of “black power” to outdo each other during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana came fourth at the 28th edition of the continental showpiece and a section of the local media cites internal wrangling and player indiscipline as some of the major issues for the four-time Africa champions’ disappointing performance.

The Ghana FA at a press briefing on Wednesday said they will take a decision on the coach within the next two weeks.

Below is a copy of the Serbian’s technical report on Ghana’s performance at the 2012 Afcon:

SUBJECT : REPORT – THE 2012 AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS IN GABON / EQUITORIA GUINEA.

1. PREPARATIONS

The Ghana football Association in consultation with the technical team selected 25 players for preparation in South Africa.

Camping in Rustenburg was excellent and accommodation, feeding, training facilities were all good. We had ten training sessions and played two friendly games.

Sports / Siasia Is History (sacked) by djones: 6:53pm On Oct 27, 2011

Sports / Siasia Must Go - Yakubu Aiyegbeni by djones: 8:47am On Oct 14, 2011
Yakubu – Siasia must go!

Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has asked that Samson Siasia be fired as Nigeria coach after he failed to qualify the country to the Nations Cup.

“When you don’t get the result, the coach has to go. That’s football. Siasia didn’t get the country to the Nations Cup, while (Shuaibu) Amodu and Christian Chukwu did and they still got fired,” said Yakubu in an interview. “The manager did not do well even after all the power and support he received. He did not help the team.

“We should therefore look for some else to try his luck. (Stephen) Keshi can do the job.” Yakubu dismissed insinuations that the players may have ganged up to sabotage the coach, saying no player would not want to feature at a big event like the Nations Cup despite the fact some of the big-name stars were at loggerheads with Siasia.

“It’s a disaster, a big shame that we will not be at the Nations Cup. The players will feel it come January when they will have to watch the tournament on television. They wanted to be there and so could not have played not to be there,” he said. ‘The Yak’ has not featured for Nigeria since his unpardonable miss in last year’s World Cup match against South Korea.

He has reportedly cut off contact with Siasia even when the coach tried to reach him when he took over the national team in November.
However, he insisted he has not quit international football. “I have not retired from the national team and I will be available if I’m picked,” he said.

The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will meet later Thursday in Abuja to decide the fate of Siasia. Sports minister Yusuf Sulaiman’s pronouncement that a decision on Siasia’s future is beyond the NFF is believed to have angered the country’s football officialdom just as opinions are divided over the fate of the coach.

Siasia has received support from his peers and younger colleagues, but older coaches have asked for his head, saying he is not matured enough for the country’s top coaching post.

Siasia rode on an overwhelming public support to be named Eagles coach in November, but after the failure at the weekend, such backing has dwindled.

The coach himself has worsened his case by saying on a radio interview that he will not work under any coach.

“I don’t want to work under anybody. If the person doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand him, that becomes another problem,” he insisted.

Sports / Taiwo Tips Eagles For Cup Glory by djones: 4:55pm On Oct 07, 2011
Taiwo: We all understand what is at stake and have vowed to put in our very best in this game to ensure we pick the ticket from this group. We know that we are going to be playing against a very difficult side on Saturday but by the grace of Almighty Allah, we shall overcome them coupled with the fact that we are playing at home . The chief coach has already told us that if we play to instruction, the Guineans won’t be a problem. I only pray for the fans to be very patient with us in case the goals don’t come early because we don’t need to lose focus until victory is achieved. We must stop the Guineans from playing and the fans have a lot to do in this regard by cheering us all through the game.

With the absence of Vincent Enyeama and you just coming back from a minor injury that has limited your playing time in your new club, don’t you think that there should be cause for concern especially in defence?

John Obi Mikel: I Won’t Pay Fine

Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has said he will not pay a fine of $5,000 for reporting late to the Nigeria training camp ahead of a crucial Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea.

The Eagles midfielder explained to MTNFootball in Abuja on Thursday that no official of the team has communicated to him on the said 5,000 Dollars fine for hitting Transcorp Hilton Hotel camp of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles late

Mikel arrived Abuja early morning on Wednesday instead of a Tuesday 12 midnight deadline set by the team. However, the player denied knowledge of the sanction against him.

“I don’t know anything about that and they haven’t told me I have been fined,” he said. When MTNFootball.com asked him whether he would pay the fine if asked to, Mikel replied, “No, no I don’t think so because I did not do anything wrong. I have reported to the camp and I have very, very genuine reason.

“If the manager (Samson Siasia) would tell Nigerians my reason, anyone in that situation will reason with me.” Mikel is believed to have gone to Jos, northcentral Nigeria, to visit his father, who was recently freed by the police from a gang of kidnappers.
