Chapter Nine

TIME: 0600
LOCATION : BLACK KITE FACILITY

Keeper is seated in his office, before him are German and Kilo. The duo were part of the the team that carried out the killing of Wolf after the president elect's assassination.

"what is going on?".. Keeper asked in his normal gentle manner.

"sir, Ortiz shot him twice to his chest, then he fell into the River Tiden " Kilo answered

"the shot was point blank, sir".. German added.

"then who killed Alpha Team, then radioed in?"...Keeper asked them.

Silence......

"find him, kill him in 72hrs"... He ordered them.

"yes sir"... The echoed

When they exited, shook his head in dismay.

"this is trouble "....He said to himself.

He picked his encrypted mobile phone

"He is still alive " he said into the phone

"who is still alive ?" asked the receiver

"Kolofin's killer" he said

"Ahhh!! What do I do now?" asked the receiver

"We will take care of him , don't you worry Mr President".. Keeper assured the receiver.


TIME: 20,00

Scooper has been waiting for five hours now. He came earlier to carry out reconnaissance in the location, to ensure he is not taken unawares again.

Wolf had arrived same location but decided to know if Scooper had any mischief under his sleeves. He mused when he noticed Scooper checking out the environment.

At exactly 9pm, he stepped out of his hiding place

"you are here"...he said

"for 7 hours now, yes " Scooper replied

"follow me". Said Wolf

They walked for 20minutes before arriving a small hut in a nomadic settlement, they greeted some farmers along the way, who were letting their cattle and other livestock into their pens for the night.

"we are here" Wolf said before entering the hut, Scooper observed the environment warily before entering too.
Inside the hut, Wolf signalled him to move back a bit, which he did. Wolf bent down, opened the floor mat, then imputed a combination, then waited for 5seconds before a whoosh sound which agitated Scooper opened an entry beneath the Hut.

Without saying a word to the already dazzled man with him, climbed down the stair to the underground facility, Scooper waited for a minute before following him.

Immediately he climbed down the stairs, the door closed.

"Welcome to my little abode" Wolf said

Scooper marvelled at the level of sophistication before him. Wolf led him to a door,
"this is your suite" Wolf told him

"this is my operation centre, that is the arsenal " Wolf pointed.

"the kitchen is over there"..pointing at the kitchen.

"eat, rest, we start tomorrow ".. Wolf said before disappearing into a door which shut immediately.

"Start what exactly " Scooper asked .


PRESIDENTIAL VILLA

"what is the meaning of all these?, I was told that assassin was killed and dumped in the River Tiden, how did he survive? " president Abiodun Azeez thought.

"your excellency, my love, why are you still awake? " his wife who just stirred from sleep asked him.

"just little matters I need to attend to at the office tomorrow dear" he lied

"do go back to sleep, will join you soon" he added.


PPP HEADQUARTERS

The chieftains of the People Progressive Party are all seated to make plans about the upcoming peace conference called by the federal government.

"What do we do my comrades? " Chief Segundo asked

"I am of the opinion that we attend this conference " Alhaji Mu'azu suggested

"remember we have lost six comrades already and have managed to take down only one" he added

"yes! " they all concurred.


TIME: 2300

Wolf and Scooper were going through their plan for the final time before tomorrow being the D-day; the National Peace Conference.

"it is time to make them pay" Scooper said.

"but how do we take care of the Black Kites and military operatives that will be present, remember the Black Kites knows me"..Scooper added, unsure of the outcome.

"the Black Kites will wait to take us unawares, they do not operate in the open" Wolf told him.

"we are fully prepared for all contingencies" Wolf assured him.

"gear up man, we roll in 5hrs" he informed him.

Scooper arranged his gadgets for the operation on the table in his room still wondering why Wolf had asked him to pack light for an operation of this magnitude.

CHAPTER EIGHT...

TV channels were agog with headlines screaming
"Double Homicide in the People's Progressive Party camp"

Several stories and speculations were flying to and from the nation. Fear of the unknown struck all popular partisans and politicians as fingers were being pointed at the opposition party for the series of death of the People's Progressive Party chieftains.

Chief Emeka, the National Chairman of the National Grassroot Party was sitting on a sofa with the president when the broadcaster broke the news.

"Azeez, this is not what I meant when I said handle the situation o"... He said to the president.

"I had no hand in this at all"...replied president Abiodun Azeez.

"who could be doing this then and what are the security outfits doing to curb this menace? " ... He queried

"they are yet to discover the perpetrators of these heinous crimes ".. The president said.

"what do we do now?"... Asked Chief Emeka,

"all fingers are pointed at us, people thinks we are responsible as a revenge for the death of the Finance minister "... He added.

The president was lost in thought that he didn't even know when Chief Emeka exited his office.

Chief Emeka's little convoy of two SUVs and his personal bullet proof BMW executive saloon were slowed down by a traffic jam caused a little incident which seemed to have blocked the road.

They were about turning around to make use of the incoming lane when a petrol carrying truck rammed into the BMW at a very high speed, crushing the car and it's occupants. The truck had pushed the car to the base of a Tele-billboard.

Once Scooper got out of the truck, though bruised, he shook of the concussion due to the impact, jumped onto his power bike and zoomed off in the opposite direction to the amazement of on lookers.

Chief Emeka's bodyguards ran alighted from their vehicles and ran to the scene to find their boss's car crushed beyond repairs. They dialled the emergency number 422 and prayed they arrive before their boss dies. They tried opening the doors of the mangled vehicle to no avail, the car was already exhuming thick dark smoke and would soon go up in flames.

Every tool they threw at the doors, didn't seem to produce results. Just then, fire sprang up within the car spreading speedily and burning up the unconscious bodies which were wriggling in pains.

When the emergency truck arrived the scene of the accident, the car was already up in flames with people wailing and pouring sand as a means of abating the increasing flames so that it won't get to the truck, as that would be disastrous. The fire fighters rushed to the scene with their hoses and gave the burning car a a quick burst of water, quenching the fire immediately.
They then used a hydraulic powered cutting device popularly called "Jaw of life" to cut through the doors of the burnt BMW to discover that Chief Emeka, his driver and his Chief Secretary Officer's bodies had been reduced to a pile of charred matter in the car.

"This country is now a war zone" ..cried the news broadcaster on the screen of the television in the president's office.

President Azeez watched in horror as the charred remains of his party chairman is being removed from the mangled vehicle by fire fighters, he wept bitterly.

"what is going on in this country? "... He asked no one in particular.

His phones started ringing immediately bringing him out of his reverie., he checked to discover that the calls were from his party members who were now scared for their lives.

He picked the call from his party's vice chairman,

"what is going on my president? "...queried Alhaji Hamza.

"I am on the matter " he replied

"we the party members are afraid for our lives"... Alhaji Hamza added.

He called his PA immediately he finished his call with his party's vice chairman.
"call a classified meeting of all service chiefs immediately " he ordered with urgency

"yes sir"... Replied his PA.


2hours later...........

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING ABOUT THE VIOLENCE IN THIS NATION?!! ".. president Azeez blared hot.

"has everyone gone dumb all of a sudden? " he asked again.

"we are investigating the events and has eyes on many suspicious individuals, but none seems to be involved, sir"...said the Chief of FBI of Nebula .

"we have spies in all the groups in the country, but none seems to be involved in this situation " he added.

"and from all indications sir, this seems like a personal vendetta, as the method of kills are alike except Chief Danati's and Chief Emeka's" Chief Nebula Intelligence Agency said.

"but, the killer of Chief Emeka was identified as Scooper, a very deadly assassin in the underworld . My men are after him as we speak"...added the NIA Chief.

"is this Scooper or whoever, the perpetrator of all these murders and why? "... The president asked.

"that we will soon find out" replied the NIA boss.

"Sir, you will need to call for a peace conference between your political party and all opposition parties, to ensure a treaty is signed to avoid further violence ".. Chief of Naval Staff suggested

"good idea"..the president agreed.

"put that in next months schedule " the president ordered his PA.


"THE PRESIDENT AND ELECTORAL COMMISSION CALLS FOR PEACE TREATY" blared headlines of every media outfit in Nebula.

"THIS MOVE BY THE PRESIDENT IS TO PUT A STOP TO THE INCESSANT MURDERS OF CHIEFTAINS OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN THE NATION"..a broadcaster said

"this move is pathetic and cowardly "... Said the new Chairman of PPP, Chief Segun Olaniyi.

"they took down six of our comrades, and just one from their camp they are already calling for a peace treaty"...he added.

"Comrades, let us take the treaty"... said the new secretary, Alhaji Mubarak.

The other chieftains were about to lambaste him when he added;
"remember, we instructed our assassin to always make it seem like accidents "


"That way no one will suspect us" ..another chieftain said he said in agreement.

They all agreed to attend in full.

Wolf laid with his lady in one of the choice 5star hotels in the country, they were having a good time to commemorate their engagement which went down 4 days ago in the presence of their family and friend in an elaborate party arranged for Livia's birthday.

"this is a good move, because this country has turned to something else. "....Livia said

"yeah a very good move, my love " Wolf answered, smiling at how luck has decided to play a good one for him.

"you seem happy dear" Livia asked.

"the killings was already getting to my nerves".. Wolf replied.

He was going to make the peace treaty a very memorable event and an unforgettable day in the history of the nation.


Location: Black Site
Time: 1900

"keeper on deck! ".. Ortiz announced

They all stood upright

"sit"...Keeper said

"Updates !! " ...Keeper bellowed

"sir the killer was caught on tape during the the murder of Chief Emeka" ...said Eagle Eye

"he is assassin known as Scooper ".. He added

Ortiz breathed in relief once Eagle Eye mentioned Scooper and not Wolf.
"he is really dead then".. He thought.

"find him, kill him" Keeper ordered ,then he exited the meeting room immediately, letting Ortiz take over the proceedings.

"Get ready Eagle Eye, Smooth, Viper, Luca and Sneaky. We are leaving at 2300!!" Ortiz said before heading for his quarters.


Time: 2330

Location: Scooper's Hideout

Wolf hid on a tree not so far from the building that served as Scooper's hideout, he had already tagged Scoopers vehicle on the day of Alhaji Musalam's death. Using his heat sensing device, he spotted Scooper's position in the building. He aimed his gun using the sensing device to place Scooper within his cross-hair, He was about pulling the trigger when he sensed the presence of other people.

He adjusted his night vision lens to locate the intruders. He recognized them immediately to be Black Kite, due to their formation, stealth pattern and uniform,spotted Ortiz in the lead.

Ortiz signalled his men to spread out, surrounding the building.

Wolf knew Scooper wouldn't make it out of there alive, considering the calibre of Black kite operatives after him for he had recognized them. But, now he needed Scooper alive for the next phase of revenge.

Wolf aimed for the glass window very close to Scooper's position, shot a .9mm bullet from his muffled hand gun, shattering the glass to bits and also alerting Scooper to the danger lurking around him.

Scooper ran into his weapon room, took sophisticated machine guns that had been modified to cause more damage than supposed, grenades and side guns.
He strapped on his knives, wore his head protective gear and vests, then stepped out to his control room where he turned up the security lights.

Immediately the lights came on, Ortiz and his team knew that the target has made them, yet they took cover and waited for the right moment.

Scooper knowing their positions, decided to treat them to a spicy welcome. He shot explosive grenades to their positions, causing them to run out their hiding places towards the building. Eagle Eye aimed his RPG Launcher at the door while I'm motion, blasting it to bits and making an entrance into the building.

Wolf knew that the door was just a distraction, that they would never the door to gain access to the building, aimed at Ortiz who was now alone as the others had circled the building and were waiting for order to breach.

"breach now! " Ortiz said before a gunshot sounded from behind him, turned to find out what just happened, but his head was blown off on impact with the bullet. He dropped dead instantly

"sniper!! " Luca alerted her comrades but was thorn to shreds by the explosive bullet Wolf shot at her immediately.

Wolf climbed down on time to dodge the the RPG missile that was shot by Eagle Eye to his former position. He aimed at Eagle Eye who was approaching the tree to ensure he made his kill and shot him to the head with he muffled side gun.

Scooper watched the action outside and wondered who could be taking down his assailants before swinging to action, riddling the figure that had just gained access to his control room with bullets.
He heard a sound behind him and turned swiftly, but was shot by the man behind him. Due to the turn he made, the bullet penetrated his left shoulder before he took cover behind his computer table.

Smooth and Viper came at him from both ends of the table, causing Scooper to surrender. They took him to the main room of the building that looks like a sitting room, place him on a large table at the center, brought out some gory looking tools.

"who do you work for" Viper asked

"your answer determines if you die by ahead shot or by being cut to pieces"...Viper warned.

Smooth used his side blade to cut open his vest and pants leaving Scooper stark naked, Viper used a device that looked like a pliers to cut off his index finger.
Scooper screamed in pains, but that didn't even bother them as smooth did same to his right index finger.

"the Chiefs did!!! " Scooper screamed

"what chiefs? "...asked viper

"go to hell!!" Scooper yelled, still in pains

Viper made to cut his thumb, but froze and dropped to the ground with a bullet hole in his temple.

Smooth turned, but was shot at the temple too.. Dropping dead instantly.

"please don't kill me, please please "...Scooper pleaded..


"these men were sent by the Chiefs you were working for to kill you same way they did to me after I assassinated the former presidential candidate on the day of his swearing in to office" ....Wolf said while still in the dark...


"they have embraced the peace treaty and wanted to tighten every loose end"...Wolf added.

"many more will come".. Wolf was interrupted by Viper's intercom which cracked up to life..

"Alpha team, what's your status, come in"...the voice of the operator said.

"I repeat, Alpha team, what's your status, come in" the operator said again.

Wolf picked up the speaker

"Whiskey, Oscar, Lima, Foxtrox , Over " Wolf noticed the quietness at the other end.

Scooper's eyes bulged in fear and surprise at the revelation of the man who just rescued him. He had heard of the ruthless assassin called WOLF. But, he also heard he was dead.

"Wolf" .. A deep voice called front he other end

"Keeper" ..Wolf replied

"You are alive" Keeper said

"Y'all bout to die".. Wolf replied.

"Alpha team? " Keeper asked

"all dead"..Wolf replied

The line went dead immediately. He removed the bullet lodged in Scooper's shoulder amidst screams, poured gun powder from a bullet he pulled open, lit it on fire using a his lighter for a while, before cutting the zip ties used to restrain Scooper..

Scooper clutched his wound immediately he was freed. Wolf dropped a note.

"meet me there tomorrow, don't be late"..Wolf said pointing at the paper before leaving.

Episode Seven

Time: 1900 Friday,....

Alhaji Musalam has just exited the central mosque after prayers and a long meeting with the Imams concerning sallah, which was fast approaching. He walked to the car lot within the mosque premise, flanked by his security detail which he had doubled after the demise of his close friend and party member; Chief Danati.

Once in the car, he called Bar. Olisa.

"I am on my way to our meeting venue as disclosed earlier, I will be there in 20 minutes time"... He said into the receiver of encrypted mobile phone he held within his danshiki.

"Aminu"...he called his driver

"sir"... Aminu answered while trying to steer the vehicle out through the mosque's gates into the road.

"head to the direction on this phone".. He ordered.

"yes sir" Aminu replied, collecting the phone.

Wolf traced the ballistic proof Mercedes Brabus and it's entourage of 4 ford SUV's that guarded Alhaji Musalam's vehicle.
He had already tagged the vehicle while dressed like an Islamic faithful who was just admiring the Brabus.

He followed the convoy to a secured location which had lots of very armed special force men crawling all over the vicinity. He deduced, he has to get to a higher spot to get clear view of the compound.

Wolf rode his power bike till he got to a telecommunication mast located 2854metres away from the secured meeting facility being used by the Chieftains of People's Progressive Party for their secret meeting.

Inside the meeting room, all the remaining members of the group were present and also a fearsome looking man, correctly put a giant by name Scooped. Scooped is a well known assassin in the underworld.

The chieftains agreed to pay him $3million as his fee, half was deposited instantly into his account with promise that once he kills the chieftains of the opposition party discreetly, making it seem like natural causes, he would get his balance. But, every financial assistant for an excellent job would be rendered without delay.

Immediately Scooper stepped out of the main building towards his car at the parking lot, Wolf knew he had stirred the hornet's comb and it was time for the president and his camp feels the heat.

The chieftains appointment amongst them individuals to fill up the position of their fallen partisans and leaders in the interim till the next party elections are being held nationwide.

Wolf waited patiently on the mast till 10pm,

"Alhaji Musalam must go down today"...he breathed to himself

He watched the entrance of the building through the telescope attached to his rifle which he had attached a night vision lens. He could make out the armed security operatives clearly.

10:42pm...
Chief Olisa sauntered out from the building, followed by other chieftains of the People's Progressive Party, laughing heartily and making minor jokes. They all exchanged pleasantries for the night and dispersed towards their various cars. Alhaji Musalam's security details surrounded him immediately they separated, leading him to the armored Mercedes Brabus, giving Wolf a clear identification of his target. He steered the scope to his target's head and squeezed the trigger of his high power rifle, sending a powerful explosive bullet towards his target.
Immediately the occupants of the secured compound heard a gunshot in the distance, but were stunned by the explosion that rocked them , throwing Alhaji Musalam's security details down due to the force emitted.

Other operatives took cover covering their benefactors to protect them. The men securing the perimeter rushed to the scene to find body parts scattered all over the place, with Alhaji Musalam's body mutilated beyond recognition. Some of Alhaji Musalam's guards' died instantly with limbs cut off, Alhaji Musalam's head was in bits, this was because, the bullet struck him first before explosion. Thereby, detaching his head from his neck as a result of the explosion. The survivors stirred from unconsciousness, yelling for help due to the pains resulting from severed limbs and body parts.

The other chieftains' guards held them down behind covers of their cars as others were trying to discover the direction from which the shot came. But unfortunately, Chief Olisa and his guards were out in the open due to where they were when the shot rang. The took cover behind plastic chairs that were piled up against the wall of the building. When the discovered their error, the leader said

"we need to move now for we are sitting ducks with the calibre of weapon this assassin is wielding"..

Wolf saw where Chief Olisa and his details hid and smiled at the opportunity of killing two birds with same stone. He aimed at the plastic chairs when he spotted one of the guards peering into the opening to note if the coast was clear. Just as he tried observing for a second time when two shots like the former rang in the distance and two explosions rocked the plastic chairs where Chief Olisa and his guards hid. The first bullet struck the chairs and the second followed immediately, striking Chief Olisa at his abdomen, splitting him on to different places, some of his guards merely escaped death with severed limbs and injuries. But, the team leader was not as lucky, he was holding Chief Olisa down when Chief Olisa was struck by the second bullet and he was also blown into bits.

While Wolf was still peering through his scope to see if he could make another kill, when he started hearing sirens approaching his direction. He knew immediately that his position had been compromised...

He climbed down quickly, got on his power bike and sped off into the night.

CHAPTER SIX...

The news of Chief Amosun’s assassination is the juiciest news in the Nebula, with every security outfit investigating jointly to capture the culprit. All efforts to this regard hasn’t really paid off as hand prints couldn’t be pulled off the ashes of the melted rifle the found o the mountain.

The president contacted the management of Wolf’s former Organization known as Black Kite, to know if they could help to curb the assassination menace in the federation.

Management called in all the assets in the field for a quick briefing on the mission at hand.

Time: 700am
Head of Black kit known as “KEEPER”, which is a code name as nobody knows his name or real identity. The organization forbids anyone using their real names, for that reason all agents uses code names.

“keeper on deck!!”.. someone announced, prompting everyone to rise up to an upright position.
“morning ladies and gentlemen”..keeper greeted.
“morn sir!!” they all responded.
Keeper sat down, they all sat down too.

“To the mission at hand, I believe everyone here has been debriefed about the situation on ground”.. said keeper.

“i want everyone here to use every resources at our disposal to uncover the identity of the assassin who is responsible for the death of all the chieftains in the last 3 months” keeper added.

“there is no room for failure in this mission as it is an executive sanction.” ….. he said.

They all studied the materials before them intently..

“any questions?” keeper asked after a brief silence.

“in the absence of any question gentlemen, you are dismissed”….he said and left the mess for his office.


“There is only one person who can make a 2500metres shot” .. Ortiz thought.
“it is not possible, I shot him point blank and watched him fall from a great height in The River Tidens”
“no man can survive that fall, that is if the bullet didn’t kill him”
“two bullets to the chest and such fall?”
“it can’t be!!”…he nearly screamed.

“What can’t be, boss?” Eagle eye asked

“Oh!!.. sorry, I was just thinking out loud”…Ortiz said to cover his blunder.

Standing up to leave Ortiz looked at everyone for a while before saying “We all heard the Keeper, there is no room for failure”. With that, he left for his office.


A week later…..
Reports of an unknown man on a power bike in a remote settlement behind the mountain where smoke had emanated from few minutes after assassination of Chief Amosun was all over the federation. Locals in the settlement had told Personnels of Nebula Federal Bereau of Investigation; FBI, that on the day of the assassination, they saw a man on a power bike with a guitar casing few hours before a shot rang from the opposite mountain side. Few minutes later, same man drove into the community without the casing.

Descriptions according to locals’ descriptions were released to the press, with pleas that any suspicious individual with matching description be reported without delay.

Wolf and Livia had just returned from Chief Amosun’s hometown, where an elaborate burial ceremony was held in Chief Amosun’s honor. The ceremony was attended by the high and mighty of the society, including Wolf’s next target; Chief Danati, who is popularly known as “Authority”.

Chief Danati had arrived with other Chieftains of the People Progressive Party, in luxury. With security teams crawling all over the community, to ensure any suspicious individual is arrested and questioned.

Wolf had seen this event as an opportunity to kill them all, but changed his mind. But decided to go as planned “Kill em one after the other”. he enjoyed the fact that they were all scurrying like rats without knowing the position of the cat after them.

He was thankful to the local fisherman that rescued him some years ago when he was betrayed by his targets and his former Organization, the fisherman had advised him to go for a facial surgery; if he must be successful in exacting vengeance on his enemies.

“Deception is the only key in fishing for preys” the fisherman had told him.

He smiled, nodding knowingly as that advice is paying off already.

Wolf had been really supportive to they Amosuns during this trying time, even Mrs. Tricia has accepted him into their family and cried always at how her husband is going to miss the opportunity of meeting the gem of a man their daughter had brought home. Wolf had supported the family emotionally, physically and financially, even though they tried to refuse financial support since they were wealthy and could easily carry the burden without any fuss. But like a good son in-law to be, Wolf had insisted.

Wolf had ensured that every preparation had been taken care of at the venue of the ceremony. He had worked closely with the event planning team that will be responsible in making the ceremony a successful one, placing himself within their reach for any complaint and also ensuring that he is familiar with all the workers, so as achieve his aim seamlessly.

Chief Danati sat with his peers and party chieftains at a section designated for them by the Amosun’s family, discussing and laughing loudly at little jokes they made about their times with Chief Amosun.

Wolf watched them chatter away without any care in the world, he slipped away after making sure that nobody spotted him. He walked to he car park, entered the car he came with and drove out of the venue, drove straight to the Amosun’s hometown residence. Once he got to the gate, the security men around flung open the gate after seeing who was behind the wheel of the car. Wolf horned when they waved at him, parked, got off the car and headed straight to the building , to his room where brought out a chemical in a very tiny container “TIME TO FISH” he said with a wicked grin.

Wolf got to venue when the reverend was almost through with the grave side procession;

“where were you babe?”….. Livia queried,

“oh!! So sorry baby,….I had to go change into another white top, the first was soiled while helping the guys”….Wolf lied

“sorry for sounding so rude.. was..”….she was about apologizing when wolf cut her short;

“shh shh babe, don’t you worry, am here now….at your service ma’am”..he said bowing,

“go joorrr!!!! “ Livia said smiling,

her siblings couldn’t help but smile too despite the tears…..


Back at the venue of the ceremony, Chief Danati and the other chieftains can be seen sitting in their designated position, enjoying themselves like its no man’s business. Wolf watched as the waiters served them specially, just as he had instructed them to. He had already assigned a waiter to each of the dignitaries; the waiter for Chief Danati had laid out all she was to serve him with and had stepped out with the other waiters to go get the preferred wines the dignitaries had requested, when Wolf stealthily entered the kitchen. He broke the little bottle containing a very deadly and untraceable Chinese poison, which is believed to have been extracted from the bile of a dragon.

He had stashed this substance in one of his secret safe houses during his days with his now enstranged former organization.

“babe, I have told you to let the event managers do their job, but you just won’t listen….you mr Perfection”…….Livia said to him mockingly

“You know how we roll baby”…… Wolf replied, gave her peck before taking his seat beside the Amosun’s.

The traditional drummers and dancers were already thrilling the people at the venue of the ceremony, while food and drinks moved freely around. Wolf had mad sure that everyone would eat and drink to their fill and even take home.

He watched Chief Danati as he ate and drank with the other Chieftains of the Peoples Pogressive Party and other dignitaries present, how they eyed the beautiful maidens that were dancing to the traditional musicians entertaining the audience. He knew how the poison kills, it paralyzes the whole body and stops the heart after 4 hours of ingestion. Once it becomes active in the system of the victim, it seems as though there is a molten magma in the system of the victim; the pain is unbearable as the internal organs of the victim will be scarred as though lit on fire.

TIME: 2100 SAME DAY…………
Chief Danati had just gotten home, taken his bathe and was discussing with his very beautiful mistress, whom he brought into his house after the death of his wife; which he arranged because, she was always nagging him about sleeping with girls the age of his youngest son.

“Chuma”….he called his steward

“Sir” ..Chuma replied, showing up immediately.

“get me a bottle of brandy”…..He ordered

“Here sir”…. Chuma came before Chief Danati and his mistress, filled the two glasses he brought half way, stepped aside awaiting for instructions.

Chief Danati was about drinking his wine, when he felt a flashing pain in his stomach, then his whole body lit up like a match thrown into fuel. He screamed out loud, let the glass cup go from his hand and shattering to pieces.

His scream caused every living soul within his premises to gather in the sitting trying to calm him down or take him to the hospital.
No one could touch him as his body was too hot and the heat emanating from him was just too much. At this time, his scream has reduced to very faint whimper and smoke were escaping from every opening in his body.

“what kind of thing is this?”… they were all asking each other as the watched their employer and benefactor melt to a pile of scarred body tissue and blood. Even the presence of medical personnels couldn’t help the matter, as they hadn’t experienced such a gruesome situation.

Few hours later….
Police and other security outfit personnels were trying had to decipher the cause of the Chiefs Danati’s death, the coroner on site was as confused as everyone, but felt he will definitely follow this to the last as this is not the first time he’s having this experience. In the last 3 cases, he tried all he could but couldn’t identify the cause of the deaths. But in this case, he was prepared for the situation at hand and has the full backing of the health minister of the federation.

“pack it up guys”…..coroner James ordered his subordinates.

“make sure every piece of tissue goes to the lab”…he added.


7:00 AM NEXT MORNING………..
Wolf and Livia were lying on the sofa in the room in which Wolf had been staying since they arrived Kogun State for Chief Amosun’s burial, she slept there with him some of the nights. Mrs Tricia was not bothered about the situation because, Livia had told her of the agreement to abstain from sex till after their wedding.
“NEWS FLASH”… displayed on the TV set, interrupting the former news in progress.

“With deep grief, we sadly announce the death of Chief Danati Osaghomen , The national treasurer of National People's Progressive Party and CEO of Danati Transportation Company (DTC), who died few hours after attending the burial ceremony of his friend and party member Chief Amosun.
His death was a mysterious one as the authorities are yet to release the cause of his death, we condole with the Osaghomen’s family in this trying time.

“What!!”….Livia screamed,
“He was just here with the other friends of my dad yesterday”…she added,

“What could have have happened to him?” ... Wolf asked no one in particular, feigning sad and concerned.

They exited the room to the sitting room to join the other family members whose cries of bewilderment rent the whole premises. Livia met her mother who was in tears while staring in disbelief at the TV set.

Media outlets were having a field day as all channels were airing and discussing the death of Chief Danati. Some even had medical practitioners trying to explain what they believe could have been the cause of his death, different theories ranging from assassination, poisoning, diabolical powers and hormonal reactions were listed and discussed on how they could have caused his death.


SECRET MEETING VENUE OF PEOPLE'S PROGRESSIVE PARTY…………………

“my fellow chieftains, we are under attack by the opposing party”…..bellowed Chief Segun,

“they have bitten more than they can chew and it is time to give them WAR!!”…..he added

“YES!!!”…they other ten chieftains in the room agreed.
“We need to give them fire for fire”…Alhaji Musalam said,
“Let us give them all we got in our arsenals”….. Bar. Olisa cried.

CHAPTER FIVE


3 DAYS LATER

"Dad! Look....... It's a man " cried a boy who has come to check traps with his dad very early in the morning.

"Hurry Dan, let's move him to the hut" said the father.

They carried him carefully to their farm house. They laid him down and the man used his scabbard to cut wolf's clothes so as to take them off and check for injuries.

After taking off his shirt, he also took off a very thin layer of clothe that was almost unnoticeable. This thin layer is a modified and compacted bullet proof Kevlar vest. This vest has the ability to absorb the force of bullets shot from handguns and also heavy artilleries when short from a far distance by distributing the shock and force from point of contact to every part of the vest. But, it is quite painful and in some cases, if shot from close distance can do little to ease the pain, but there will be no penetration of shrapnel.

The man saw two bruises on his chest and knew for a fact that he was shot but saved by the vest.

" Will he die dad? " the boy asked

"I think he will survive son" the father replied.


BACK TO PRESENT DAY

"I will kill them all" wolf screamed as he woke up from sleep where events of the past played out in his dream.

He gently rose from his bed and walked to the bathroom to clean up.
He came out of the bathroom, dressed up casually and walked out of the house with is beloveth pistol tucked unto his waist.

After walking for 30minutes, he walked around the neighborhood of his next victim; Chief Amosun.

He noticed the presence of many armed security men..
Wolf smiled within himself
"You cannot outrun death chief, for you are next"

Just as he was ready to leave, two vehicles drove out of the compound.
He saw two beautiful ladies and a boy who looked younger in the second car, he knew who they were immediately; Chief Amosun's children.

Livia, Chief Amosun's eldest daughter noticed the handsome guy who was standing close to their gate, he seemed to have stopped to let them drive out.
His profile is her perfect type. Trimmed low-cut hair, average height, Athletic, handsome and built body.
She eyed him, sizing him up.

Ella noticed her sister's action and smiled. Truely the guy is a sight but she preferred tall and fair guys.
"seen your meat? "
She asked Livia, who is thinking of how she would love to be held on those strong arms.

"We are here"
Steve, their younger brother said as they got to the restaurant "Fries County" .

Wolf who boarded a taxi immediately the two cars left the compound, followed the cars after telling the driver that he will direct him, because he doesn't know the name of the place he was heading to.
Once they got close to Fries County, he told the taxi driver that this is where he is stopping.

He alighted, paid the driver and walked to the restaurant . He got into the restaurant and walked straight to a table. He noticed the surprise in Livia's eyes when she saw him, but he just smiled and said
"hi" before walking to a table behind theirs.

Livia was surprised and happy seeing him there.
"here comes your meat" Ella said

"shut up " Livia snapped still blushing.

Wolf was served his order, which he attacked immediately since he was very hungry.

"He surely is a beast" Ella said , seeing how wolf chowed down on his meal.

"Hello guys" Livia heard behind her.
She turned and was lost in those eyes and lips.

"hi " she replied.
“I am Ben” Wolf said
“Livia” She replied.


Five days after Wolf’s encounter with Livia and her siblings at County Fries, He and Livia were having their second date and already planning for her come visit him. But due to the current events, Chief Amosun had instructed that his kids be followed at all times by guard. Yet they still leave without guards whenever their parents are away.

“Mum and dad will be traveling tomorrow” Livia told Wolf who just smiled

“what time exactly?”, he asked,
“Cos I’d love to come pick you myself” He added.

“Awwwn, so sweet” She replied.
“they will leave by 5pm and I will be ready to leave the house by 7pm” she added.

“Okay, I will be there by 7:00pm to pick you my love” He promised.
“You are such a sweet girl, too bad am gonna make you mourn tomorrow” Wolf thought with a frown.

“What is the matter bae?” Livia asked, very concerned.

“Oh!!! I just remembered I have to deliver some products to my clients by 7pm” He lied.

Livia frowned at the thought of him not making it again when Wolf added

“but I will come pick you up before that delivery,…. we will think of it as a little adventure” he said with a charming smile which drew a seductive smile from Livia.

TIME: 1700
LOCATION: NEBULA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The airport’s vicinity is bubbling as usual with with activities ranging from incoming vehicles heading to the airport’s parking lot, airport taxis shuttling to and fro the airport, people pulling their luggage, people exiting the arrival terminal and others entering the departure terminal, etc. A lot of planes of different designs, models and sizes belong to the different companies registered in the airports can be seen in the vicinity.

2500metres away from the airport on a very high ground across the part of The River Tidens that cuts through the capital city of Nebula, just adjacent to the airport laid Wolf within a thick shrub with his rifle aimed at the entrance of the airport.

From this vantage point, he has an oversight of the airport and can pick his targets easily.
Wolf checked his time again “5:52pm”.….. he was feeling pressed to ease himself, but won’t dare move from move a muscle, as he has just 10 seconds window before his target is covered completely by his guards.

Chief Amosun and his beautiful wife Tricia, were engrossed in a discussion about the recent happenings in the country and how the 4 months vacation would really help the family to heal and return back to normal when his CSO Moses informed them that they have arrived and in the airport.
His wife is of the opinion that all their children go with them, to lay low and let the steam blow by before they return to their normal lives. Though chief Amosun agreed, their children would not have any of that as traveling with their parents means being caged as they already are at the moment.

The cars lined up, blocking off the departure terminal. This is to block the sight of any sniper outside the airport. Moses was satisfied when Chief Amosun and his wife gained entrance into the airport without any incidence.

“Mission accomplished” he thought,
Now I can go any enjoy my beautiful wife while Chief and his wife are out of the country for four good months with full pay, he beamed with a smile.

10 minutes later, Chief Amosun’s entourage which now consists of Chief Amosun, His wife, and two of his muscular guards, walked down the tarmac to a private jet that has a thunder sign as logo and has “A.A.E” boldly written underneath. A.A.E is a private electricity distribution company solely owned by Chief Amosun.

Wolf watched as Chief and his now diminished team strolled towards a private jet he believes belong to Chief Amosun, due to the logo on the plane. He waited for patiently for the right moment, taking reading of the direction and speed of wind.
Wolf aimed the at entrance door of the jet, waiting patiently for Chief Amosun to line up with the scope’s cross-hair. He didn’t have to wait for long as Chief Amosun’s wife, Mrs. Tricia gained entrance into the jet, then Chief Amosun so full of himself, turned to bid his CSO goodbye before entering the jet. This gesture gave Wolf a clear view of Chief Amosun’s temple.

Just when Chief Amosun tried to turn towards the plane, Wolf gently pulled the trigger of his .338 Lapua Long Range Rifle. The 7 inches explosive bullet birthed by the Lapua struck Chief Amosun’s temple, blowing off the head completely on contact.

Chief Amosun’s wife heard a thud, turned to know what made the sound only to find her husband’s headless body on the floor of the jet. She screamed and fainted due to the shock of the sight before her.

The two guards were very alarmed at the situation before them, both of them tried locating the direction of the shot while one radioed their CSO immediately.

Airport security, medical team and Chief Amosun’s security team ran to the scene to find Chief Amosun’s corpse in a devastating state, without head and tissues splashed all over the entrance and inside the jet’s entry compartment.

2 hours later……
Media teams fro different organizations can be seen on the seen all over in the airport premise, interviewing eye witnesses. Mrs. Tricia has been moved to the airports medical facility for adequate attention. Remnant of Chief Amosun has already been moved to the morgue and investigation on the assassination is ongoing as the FBI had already barricaded the murder scene off access from civilians.

Wolf watched as guards and airport security team arrive and how they were trying to identify the direction of the shot, he knew this was his cue to vacate hi current location as people were pointing towards the direction of the mountain. He knew they must have heard the sound of his gun in the distance. He took brought out the “dissolvent”, uncorked it, then poured it upon the gun, ensuring that every part is enveloped with the thick liquid content of the container. He watched as the gun started melting down producing thick smoke which choked him a bit. Before he left, he ensured that the process has rendered the rifle unrecognizable.
Slipping through the shrubs to avoid being seen, since the smoke may have alerted people searching for the direction of the shot. Wolf got to his bike and zoomed of towards a remote village close-by, this is to avoid suspicion.

Chief Amosun’s Residence…….
Chief Amosun’s sitting is filled with family members, friends and neighbors who have heard about the assassination. They are all here to mourn with the immediate family who saw the news about their dad’s assassination and mum’s situation. But they weren’t allowed out of the house due to the situation at hand.

7:00pm….
Wolf drove into Chief Amosun’s residence after being searched and cleared by the security team. Livia ran to him immediately he alighted from his vehicle. He acted to be surprised at the number of cars and people in the compound.

“Are you having some sort of party?” he asked with a smile, but frowned when he saw tears on her face and how red her eyes were from crying.

“What is wrong my love?”..he queried further.

Livia broke down in tears immediately he hugged her.

“My father was killed today at the airport!!”.. she said almost yelling.

She cried more.

Wolf let her cry for a while before consoling her. He felt bad, but had to do it “Your father wasn’t innocent and neither am I “ … he thought.

He led her into his car, wiped her tears while saying suiting words to help alleviate her grief.

“lemme take you for a drive”.. he offered. But she kept quiet.

He pulled off the parking lot towards the gate. The security men were alarmed when they saw they occupants of the car.

“he is my boyfriend and wants to just take a little ride with me”… she told the CSO

“you can follow behind us if you want”… added Livia. CSO Moses, picked four members of his team to follow behind their car.

Wolf took her to one of his safe houses. This building is one of his numerous safe houses which are tastefully built and furnished as a front to cover his identity.

Once inside, he brought her the goodies he had already prepared for their supposed date. Being a foodie, Livia managed to eat a little, but couldn’t resist the amazing wine, drinking till she got a tipsy, but not drunk.

Wolf made her place her head on his chest while they listened to music which soon enveloped the sitting room. She texted her siblings that she was with Ben and won’t be coming back tonight.
She discovered that she felt protected in his arms and prays it last.

EPISODE 04

FLASHBACK

4 years ago.

Charles known by his colleagues as Wolf is blindfolded and led to a cliff above River Tiden.
He felt the fresh breeze and knew exactly where he was, he has also been counting how many turns and to what direction the van turned.

He felt betrayed having completed his mission of assassinating the president-elect, Prof. Johnson Kolofin of the Democratic Alliance.

Prof. Johnson was about to be sworn in as the new president of the Democratic Republic of Nebula, before his death. He had just collected the holy book and raised his right hand when his head exploded, shattering completely and splashing brain matters on highly placed individuals behind the podium.


It was a short range shot from a heavily muffled sniper rifle made out of plastic, which propelled an explosive bullet that only detonates when it get to a programmed distance.
The weapon was hidden underneath a media house van which was cleared to cover the event, just like other media vans in the square.
Wolf has entered as a member of the media company after the van had gained entrance already. When he approached the main entrance of the square wearing the uniform of the media company, the security operatives wanted to hold him back , but on realizing that they were cleared to cover the event, he was let through into the square.

He approached the van, knocked on the door and once the occupant was the radio man opened to know who it was, Wolf struck him a hard punch on his temple, knocking him out cold. He then opened the basement of the van to reveal his tools which he coupled quickly and used his compact glass drill to make a hole through the window of the van with clear view of the podium.

30 minutes later, the event kicked off proper and for 2hrs he waited for the president to mount the podium.
While he waited, the camera man covering the event with the reporter came knocking at the door of the van
"Dino open up! The president will soon be up man"
"hey man! Open up!
Wolf opened the door and let him. Once he entered, he saw Dino tied up and laying on the floor with his mouth muffled, he tried to turn back, but was dragged into the van and one hard knuckle punch to the neck, he slumped to the ground.

15 minutes later, the reporter who had waited for the camera-man came to the van fuming and breathing hot flames of anger towards John, the camera man.
When she got to the van, she didn't care to knock as she opened the door. She was shocked beyond words at what her eyes saw, wolf pointed a gun at her and signaled her to sit. She sat on the chair quietly as Wolf muffled her mouth and bound her hand and feet, then went back to his rifle just when Prof. Johnson Kolofin was called up for his swearing in ceremony.

The president elect climbed up to the podium, the Chief Judge of the federation took the holy book used for the procession and handed it to him, the asked him to raise his right hand which he did.

"Repeat after me" said the Chief Judge.

"I, then put your name" ..

"I, professor Johnson Kolofin" he said

Just then his head exploded into brain, skull and blood fragments all over the presiding judge and chieftains behind the podium.

Pandemonium broke loose at the square. With dignitaries being covered and taken to their armored vehicles, people running to safety, reporters struggling to get the juice of the story and security operatives searching all over for the perpetrator.

Wolf slid into the running crowd looking very different, having pulled off his camouflage costume.
He ran in the midst the crowd for 2 blocks before taking a quick left turn to an alley leading to the spot where his bike was parked. As he made to mount his bike , he felt a sharp pain at his neck and slumped.

Several security agencies were deploying operatives to the scene, but the square was already deserted except for a media van that was parked at the lot which has not moved at all since the commotion started.
The men approached the van with care to avoid any mishap.

When they opened the door, the SWAT team entered carefully only to see the occupants tied up, they loosened them and got them out.
Immediately the reporter was free of her muffle, she pointed at the bomb that was ticking away with just 20s left.

"there is a bomb! Everybody evacuate immediately! "

Immediately the last man jumped down, the explosion that erupted from the van shook the whole square, burning every evidence that the assassin left behind.

Many security operatives were seriously injured due to the force of the blast which threw them afar, with limbs and body parts scattered all over the blast zone.

All over the country was on fire with news of the president elect, even foreign media agencies and governments were making statements about the sad event.

All security agencies in the country launched investigations to uncover the conspiracy behind the president- elect's assassination, with the military mounting check points where all cars were searched for any suspicious individual.
In 3hrs, more than 50 suspects that matched the description of the culprit as described by the female reporter.

While security agencies were battling to progress solution to the situation at hand, The National Grassroot Alliance chieftains met secretly at the house of there presidential candidate who was the 1st runner up during the presidential election to celebrate the death of Prof Johnson.

Wolf was brought before the 15 man inner circle chieftains headed by Chief Bello who is eyeing the financial ministerial position, should their candidate; Dr. Abiodun Azeez win.
When he woke up, he recognized everyone there since they met here before the mission. Chief Bello who has already instructed the organization to kill Wolf immediately he leaves the gathering.

"we the inner circle, appreciates the excellent job you did" Chief Bello said smiling wickedly.
Wolf nodded.

"Your payment has been arranged as planned said Dr. Abiodun.

With that Wolf left for the door.
Immediately he reached the door, he met 5 of his colleagues pointing their guns at him. He tried to get his handgun, but his handler Otiz brought out the gun and waved it before him smiling

"looking for this?" said Otiz.

"You are out of options here Wolf, please don't do anything stupid. " said Otiz.

Wolf gently raised his hands in surrender and immediately a
blindfold shut his eyes. Then they pushed him into a waiting van and drove off.

RIVER TIDENS

"Am sorry Wolf" said Otiz.

"Who put you up to this" Wolf asked.

"the inner circle asked management to take you out immediately after the job to avoid any blow backs" Otiz said.

Before Wolf could say anything else, Otiz shot him twice in the chest. The force of the bullets pushed him off the cliff into the flowing River.

"let's go" Otiz ordered the rest.
While in the van he texted Management;

"Done"

Management sent an encrypted message

"it is done"

Chief Bello received the message with a smile. He joined the rest of the chieftains to celebrate.


3 DAYS LATER

Chief Eloka's Residence


Security seems to have been beefed up in Chief Eloka's mansion located at the outskirt of the capital city of Nebula.
Men in suits, carry sophisticated weapons can be seen at strategic positions and from their appearances, they seem ready to kill any intruder.

Chief Eloka is seen dressing up in his luxuriously furnished bedroom, while his wife is seen sitting at the front of the magnificent mirror as she applies her makeups.
Chief Eloka and his wife, are preparing for a fund-raising gala that they were specially invited to by another chieftain of same political party. The fundraiser, is to support the family of Late Chief Bello.

He paused for a moment, thinking out loudly:

"it feels just like yesterday " he said, shaking his head in deep thought.

"take heart my love" his wife said, bringing him out of his reverie.

Ready, they stepped out of the house after ensuring that they have carried all they needed.

""Bullet!!" he calledv

" Sir" A very huge man with a nasty scar on his face rushed in.

"Ready to roll? " he asked

"Yes sir" replied Bullet.

Chief Mr. and Mrs. Eloka stepped out of the mansion's beautiful front door into an armored Mercedes Benz saloon. Bullet and six other guards got into two other cars, identical to the first car in which chief Eloka and his wife were sorted.

Chief Eloka's little entourage drove out of the compound unto a well constructed and lush street that connected his compound to a secondary collector road.

5 kilometres away from Hotel D'royale, where a high class event just started 15 mins ago. A car seems to have crashed into another car, blocking the road for cars going towards Hotel D'royale, with people's cars scattered along the road as they were trying to clear the debris from the road.

1500mtres from the accident site, Wolf laid on a table with his right eye peering through his rifle's scope. He had a clear view of the road. He breathed gently, observing the wind and taking readings on his device.

He was prepped in an uncompleted high rising building which was a project initiated by the former governor, but was abandoned immediately the present governor took over.

He smiled when 3 Identical Mercedes Benz came in sight. They must have had an information about the crash as the cars were plying the other lane so as to avoid the lags caused by the crash site.

Chief Eloka had a feeling down in his guts, he wasn't feeling too good, but his wife who has planned how to flaunt her wears and accessories won't let him turn back as he wanted to.

The 3 cars has crossed the crash site successfully and we're speeding down the round when an explosion rocked the vehicle carrying Chief Eloka and his wife. The driver slammed his head on the steering wheel so hard that his neck snapped instantly. Chief Eloka and his wife were thrown forward and both of them crashed unto the front seat and his wife was knocked out.

The 2 cars at the front stopped and all their occupants jumped out weapons ready for defence, Bullet got to the car carrying his boss and his wife. He was about pulling open the door when Chief Eloka opened the door and staggered out of the car.

Immediately he got out, a shot rang in the distance and Chief Eloka's brain matters scattered into the car and on Bullet.

All the guards tried cover their boss, only to find Bullet bathed in their boss's brain tissues and Chief Eloka's head exploded into bits.

The guards were all wary, trying to find the culprit or at least know the direction of the shot. People who hid due to the sound of the shot were now coming out and peeking to know who got shot, some were even saying some things

"that's how they behave, all these politicians, killing themselves" the owner of a kiosk along the road said as he and others were trying to see who got shot.

Bullet was lost in thought as to how the car got spotted, considering the fact that he has shuffled the car as they were enroute. He has directed that Chief's car go to the front, back, middle, etc., he was still pondering when he heard a loud scream.

Chiefs wife's scream brought him out of his reverie as she awoke to feel thick liquid all over her body. She was about to yell " Who did this....!!?",
When she stopped at the sight before her. She couldn't process the situation when she screamed and fainted.

The guards carried the body of Chief Eloka into the second car and his wife into the first, then drove off in search of a hospital to resuscitate her.

1500 meters away from the site, Wolf packed up his
Tools after dismantling his rifle.

Wolf laughed out at the security team, knowing fully well that they would be wondering how he got the their boss, despite their little shuffle strategy. He had hacked the phone that belongs to Chief Eloka's wife two days ago when he delivered her diamond jewelries and accessories, after knocking down the original courier, tied him up with a zip tie.

He had opened one of the accessories' design and had hidden a very tiny tracker and emitter, through which he gained access to her phone which was placed close to the package.

He walked to the stairs leading down to the basement where he packed his turbo engine sports bike with a broad smile and a bounce in his steps.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
