robonski15:Oga Robonski15 u never tell me hw much melange goes for nw. I am ready to sell them off and go back to the drawing board. Also I have post and juveniles for sale too. Hw much can does it take to feed 1 fish till maturity (tot I read N135 in this thread) so I can knw hw much I wd be budgeting for feeding in my next farming. |
It's high time we formed a union cos this price is just too low, the ppl making the gains are the market women...I see them as extortionist. We need a union or association so we can stick to a uniform price. |
robonski15:What's the cost of feeding per fish till maturity? Want to get it right the third time. So I knw hw much fish to rear and hw much capital I wd be investing...thanks. Also hw much does melange goes for nw per kg? |
robonski15:Yes I won't give up and I promise my third farming wd be a success...I wd attain the 1kg benchmark. My farm is in Aiyetoro close to Ayobo. I need to weigh them to know there kg...I guess 300g to 400g makes a melange right? Some should be lesser. I want to sell them off and go back to the drawing board and fix up my mistake. Right nw, am having high blood pressure cos I ve depleted my cash on feeding.. just squeezing and borrowing to feed them. If nt my family tat believe in me, who else can I run to for finance? |
robonski15:Thanks my oga...I found this thread too late. This is my second farming season and wd be my 1 year in the business. In this second season, I realise I over stock my tanks with fishes (I used the rubber tanks). As such, I didn't know I would be spending more that expected on feeding. The fast growers are in a 4000 litre tank and they are like 150 weighing 700g to 1kg. I ve begin selling them off to bar for N550 per kg so I can raise money to rear like 500 pics of melange. I am planning selling off the juvenile and post. Though I foresee me losing this season. Can I see buyer who would buy the melange which weigh abt 300g? If yes hw much is the market price per kg? Hard lesson learnt bt I won't give up as u didn't give up after losing millions of naira...I would only rear what I can feed on my third farming and I hope to recuperate my loss. |
I ve been reading this forum and only replied to a post recently. It almost one year am in the biz and this is my second breeding...so far, the fast growing ones are weighing 600g at 4 month bt I ve depleted my cash. So I started selling to bar parlour at the rate of N550 per kg and they all weigh 42kg . The first batch I forecast sales of N20+ but I still have other melange and post finger nails. I have spent close to 95k on feeding. I think at this point am already running into lose. I have released my mistakes which is overstocking without having enough capital to train them all...the whole fish so far should be 2500 thereabouts. |
maymay1:They change colors like chameleons...they turn black in black tank and look white in white tank...it's nt a problem. Put them in black tank and see hw the color transforms from white to black |
eagleeyez:Thanks...I don't even battery to waste replying one silly comment made on my person. |
Oluwapresley:Badek and wen u cross the bridge to Aiyetoro |
It's sold for N200 in my area (Ayobo) and the worst is that the meter has been tampered with...what a useless entity called Nigeria..I so much hate the govt...they don't have the masses at heart at all...I hope buhari would at least ease the stress and suffering we the poor masses go through. |
Dear NLers, I am into Catfish rearing business for close to a year. The experience so far hasn't been encouraging. The business is a fun biz. I enjoy every bit of it as it gives me the comfort to work from home and be my own boss. Now I don't find it easy as there are some factors that seems to be threatening the existence of the business which are feeding cost, period of consumption and marketing price during harvest. The price for the feed has gone up since the devaluation of the Naira and reason being most of the feed are all imported except Vital feed, with its price has also increased. Secondly, the fish consumes 30kg in less than 12 days and which is N10,000 and they aren't growing as fast as I would ve desired. My wallet is almost empty and am going bankrupt. I have devices an alternative feed for them. I Google and found someone posted on nairaland that the fish eats Indomie and biscuits. I also checked the food ingredients on durantee feed and I device a possible way of feeding. I bought rejected noodles 10kg, add up and mix it with fish meal 72% 1kg, grounded soy bean 2kg and full fat 1kg. This cost me N2200. To my surprise, the fish are eating and picking it. I don't know if this would make them grow well as wen they are eating processed feeds but at least it would save me cost of buying imported feed which goes for N4500-N6600 and also stop them from killing and eating themselves. It would be nice if the fishes are sold per unit and not by kg. Pls, is there any possible solution to overcome these challenges so the business can be lucrative cos I believe in consistency in business. |
So this myth is true? I am guilty too

MoNickk:I like ur person...let's get to knw and be friends if u don't mind... Add me on BBM pin:2B8DBC5A |
BUCHOX:Bros I am feeling ur pain. These cc are so so stupid...I am tired of telling my name, my phone number and where am calling from cos they won't do anything. nw I just call an alphabet letter to them as my name. I think Glo management are in to defraud and extort us of our hard earn kobo. IKEDC won't give u light and expect u to pay bill, glo go come with their own, govt too...in short we need a credible body that would take poor man's complains serious because this cabals are stealing seriously from us. Glo has to sit up and get their service right. If they block the BBC month service, I think we would have to switch to android and it would affect BlackBerry sales and their net profit. They need to give us a better plan for our BlackBerry if they want us to subscribe with the right plan. |

Thank goodness am not the only one experiencing this bad service glo is rendering to its customers. I have to call them on Friday...I spoke with 6 agents...the first 3 had to disconnect my call when I asked to speak to a superior. I didn't note down their names so after that I started noting down all reps I spoke to. The fourth agent I spoke to was named Samuel who told me my area isn't 3G covered Called agent number 5 name Lucy, she was rude and wen I asked to speak to a superior, she sent the call to a automated line which disconnects after 3 min..I called again and she pick it again and I gave my own share of my rudeness. The last agent I spoke which was Ade, told me that in as much I can see the H sign with the BlackBerry logo by it means my area is 3G covered (what a conflicting report from Samuel)...he said he wd send a reminder to the network team to still work on the line...The problem is their network which they won't fix..my subscription expires on the 5th of April and imagine calling them for one particular issue since last week till date. They are just so incompetent with their service. Wish etisalat can offer a better deal for the BlackBerry 10 users. Glo really sucks. |
Hi NLers, I don't know if am the only one experiencing bad service from Glo. Since last week, I ve been calling their 333 BlackBerry help desk to complain about the poor service I get jn my area...imagine calling everyday for 2 weeks and you are to use the BlackBerry service for 4 weeks. The problem am facing is if the signal is on 3G, it shows H with the BlackBerry logo and it won't browse, even if it does, it's super slow after which it would change from sos to emergency call only to searching for network. I am so tired and angry right nw. With that, I get a no voice service too. I ve downgraded to 2G, it shows E with the BlackBerry logo and the browsing is slow and somethings it doesn't browse. I use a BlackBerry z10 and on the BBC month plan. I don't mind switching bt I can't get a better deal else where. Is anyone experiencing the same problem like me. ![]() |

Thanks for the advice. I would like to know how much it's been sold for when smoked and how is it sold? |
I am into Catfish rearing business. The business is lucrative but the challenges am experiencing is when it's time to sell after harvest. The amount the customers are offering, I feel is too small when you imagine the amount of input and time invested. Around my area (Ayobo) 2 tablesize fish that makes 1 kg is being priced for at N430 by those market women and some are offering to pay N425. The price is just too low and I guess this problem is cos the business doesn't have association to impose a uniform price. The amount of time and input invested for 4-5 month before sales doesn't equal the price market women want to purchase the fish. The same fish they bought at N430 (being 2 fishes) they would sell each for N500 and pepper soup sellers would sell each plate for N700. Is anyone facing my kind of plight. What can I do to at least smile doing sales after harvest. I need advice. Thanks. |
Here is the pics of the deceased. He stays in my area. So sad to see the news online. The said woman she was fighting for is no where to be found and he left his beloved wife nw to be a widow. The said woman he was fighting for is a widow. May his soul rest in peace.

U just spoke my mind and my full stop. From Lekki toll down to Ikoyi and V.I compare wt the whole of Alimosho where they gt massive votes and see their wicked. For me APC is govt for the rich and PDP is govt for the thieves and corrupt mind...I just want Jesus to come restore us to our past glory. #NonPartisan speaking. freshness2020: |
This video was curled from Facebook. Hear the view of Malaysian Students towards Nigeria. They all proclaim Nigerians are GOOD people. I think this video is meant to change the view of Malaysians towards Nigerians...Nigerians are highly discriminated against in Malaysia, from the train, elevator and even in shopping malls. They face several kind of harassment and bully which I was onces a victim. I have been harassed and attacked during my stay there. Some peeps die there but I thank God am alive, well and back home with my family. I get this strong phobia whenever I see harassment and attack on Nigerian...I hope this video goes a long way in changing the mindset of Malaysians toward us. Happy viewing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh1pUfoWd-o&feature=youtu.be |
Some months back, I posted a topic about how IKEDC were extorting the people of Aiyetoro-Itele community in Ogun state. For decades now, we have been living in darkness. No help from Amosun led APC govt nor from Ado Odo ota LGA. Before the arrival of IKEDC, there were only 3 transformers in the whole community (which was due to an abandoned project during Gbenga Daniel tenure). IKEDC didn't install any electric pole, wire or transformers. We the masses bought the poles and wires ourselves and some community have even went as far as buying transformers cos the existing ones can't serve the whole community. IKEDC are now asking for N300k bribe before they would put life into the newly purchased transformers (i.e connecting it to the high tension and service wire). They are bringing arbitrary bills of 3 million Naira for the community to pay and extorting us. Every now and then, the existing transformer fails due to overload. What sort of investor is IKEDC? To me they are NEPA in disguise. |
