Without knowing what keg contains which fuel, you would have to consider that eight kegs contain petrol. So you take 8 kegs from the bunch.
If all eight are indeed petrol, then the rest would be kerosene. You simply pick another two kegs.. Either way, you'd get at least 10 liters of kerosene.
Therefore, minimum number of kegs you'd need to select would be 10..

Since, there are 14 kegs and only 6 of them contains Kerosene and the remaining 8 contains PMS. By stealing 10 kegs which contains 5 litres of fuel each, he would have been sure that he has surpassed the limited number of kegs containing PMS and the 2 added kegs would surely be Kerosene.

There are two variables here 1) The oldest person which is the father and 2) The witness whose of opposite sex (mother or daughter). The witness is opposite sex to the oldest, do the math again

1. The witness and the one who helped the murderer were not of the same sex.(Since we have witnesses as either mother or daughter, then definitely, the helper was the son or father).

4. The one who helped the murderer was older than the victim.( Therefore, since the helper has been identified as the son or father, the victim is likely the daughter). I mean, a son can't be older than his mother. This rules out mother as a victim.

3. The youngest person and the victim were not of the same sex. (This will support the above - the victim is is younger than the helper).

6. The murderer was not the youngest member of the family.(Since we have identified the witness and the victim, it's obvious the final persons, is the father or son as the murderer as neither of them is youngest).
