gbosaa: Federal govt/Nafdac should as a matter of urgency stop importation of frozen food from china especially seafoods

There are lots of irregularities and malpractices in the production of most of these seafoods in china.

US FDA had problems with this guys and their imports sometime in the past and they keep re-offending with the same heavily tainted fishes.

Most of these seafoods are ladden with antibiotics and carcinogenic substances.

Fishes that should mature in about 5months are harvested in a 8weeks after pumping them with dangerous chemicals and drugs.

Nigeria needs a Dora Akunyili sort of person to tidy up the mess.We are all in trouble if we keep allowing these corrupt asian business men to keep flooding our food market with embalmed and harmful products.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: MTN Replaces 285 Expatriates With Nigerian Workers. by DLL1: 3:24am On Jun 08, 2013
in those foreign companies, there are too many jobs that nigerians are not able and capable to do. are there adequate number of nigerian nationls that are qualified in telecommunicating field? are there adequate number of nigerians who is qualified in high level accounting and auditing? are there adequate number of nigerians qualified in fields of PR(public relation) and international business management? the answers are no, no and no. also there are other positions i did not mention but almost no one in the country can fill in.
winneijay: It's time the Nigerian Government implements the 95% Nigerian 5% expatriates in all the sectors. Be it Oil & Gas e.t.c

These rule should be supervised and implemented strictly, I don't understand why the Chinese, Philippines e.t.c will come into Nigeria and be paying Nigerian graduates peanuts while the Chinese lives in places like Banana Island Ikoyi.

In Ghana, the people in charge of such policies ensures that it is adhered to. They ask such companies, what is it the expatriate does that a Ghananian can't do. A sister of mine that worked in GT Bank Ghana said she was almost sacked because they insisted that she is either included in the 5% expatriates or they sack her and employ a Ghananian that can do the Job.

If such policies is implemented in all those foreign companies that are making so much money in this country, The rate of unemployment in this country will drop to less than 5%.

You are ignorant. A plane crash doesnt always have to be someone or the airline's fault. Accidents which couldnt have been forseen happen. A BA plane almost crashed in London about 2 weeks ago and one of their 777s which had lost all power, glided to a crash landing at Heathrow 3/4 years ago. Why are they still in business?

I didnt know anyone personally on that flight but the story of Maimuna Anyene is one I'll never forget. RIP to all who perished.

what you said is so not true, a plane crash happened must for some reason, a plane does not crash for no reason. so, the reason either lies in some people or the plane itself. but, i believe the reason is definitely with the lazy and irresponsible airliner. they does not care about the human life and irresponsibly let a plan that is haunted with problems to operate.
USA has a thousand times more flights than NIGERIA, but you don't hear american planes crash every year. NIGERIA, such a small country in aviation industry with so few flights, however, reports massive-loss plane crashes every year!
this is fxxking crazy![b]

a year has already passed, and what punishment has fallen upon those who are responsible for the tragedy?
what lessons do we learn from this plane crash?
i believe nothing would happen, the planes in this country will stay the way they were, and, some other day, similar tragedy might happen again.
Personally, i do not wish that, but, pathetically, this is the truth in this country.

cj1080: Did you know that this is the second crash in that area in the past 16 years. you all remember the Military crash the herculus plane that went down there in the 90‘s during Abacha‘s time.

Is this Nigeria‘s Bermuda.

This is not Bermuda at all. This accident is caused by personnel faults and it could have been avoided! This is not a natural disaster, this is a tragedy acted by misconducting people! God damn those evil people! May their souls be tortured every hour every second till their deserved death!

Business / Re: Walmart Nigeria: Good Or Bad Idea? (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) by DLL1: 4:22pm On Jun 01, 2012
definitely wal-mart is a strong competitor, but, nigeria should bear in mind that only competition could push forward the development of economy in nigeria. competition is a good thing, everyone has to be better. this is a good thing for both customers and local retailers.
