Going by current trends, ISIS, Hezbola, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood and more; i dare ask: Has Islam (dubbed a peaceful religion) been infiltrated? Why all these transfer of aggression from the United States Government to innocent lives the world over? When you fight defenseless people, kill the innocent and expect a reward from Allah then you must agree with me that the level of brain-wash involved would require a professional psychiatrist or divine intervention. It is sad to see our religion tagged a terrorist one and lets be honest, these evil groups are funded by royalties and influential Muslims so what is the rational behind these crusades? We preach unity and peace and started an N.G.O to foster unity amongst Christians, Muslims and the society in general. http://www.hccydti.org |

@rozzay: U honestly think u are good in bed and can go all day? try me cos i dare u. Anyway, this question is for ladies who keep saying men are this and that. We wanna learn and at-least try to draw close to that ideal man for our ladies. |
I asked this question so ladies can school us. Obviously i aint learning much. If you want better men in your society, raise them. |
Tired of this & that yet it sums up to nothing. Men love sex, sex & more sex. Money, football, a job & other issues as well. This can't be same for ladies so please tell us what you think. We will learn & try to fit in. Men don't like money & treasure loving women. Visit www.gtbensmag.com |
francleanflexy: cos its not a normal sin.Forgiven several of my gfs b4. So what are your claims. |
Hi everyone, just taking a look at recent events. Divorce cases & men cheating from bible days till date. Please a sin is a sin but its well established that men will bleed & keep bleeping women around them. Not justifying it in any way but i think its time women start making counter measures rather than losing their homes & family over one mistake. Its cliche anyway www.gtbensmag.com |

Every computer on the Internet has a unique IP address allotted to it which makes it possible to trace it back to its exact location. Even though the concept of Internet Protocol address has been designed for its transparency and traceability, in some cases this questions the privacy of the Internet user where one would not like to reveal his/her identity to the outside world. Well, if you are one such person who is in search of ways to hide your IP address online, then you are at the right place. In this post, I will discuss some of the easy and popular ways to hide your IP address, so that your identity and privacy is kept safe. One of the most popular and easy ways to hide your IP address online is to use a proxy server. In simple words, a proxy server is any server that will act as an intermediary between your computer and the Internet. Instead of communicating directly with the websites or Internet resources, here you communicate with the proxy server which then forwards all your requests to the remote server so as to establish a back and forth communication between your computer and the Internet. So, whenever you are hiding behind a proxy, the Internet or the websites you visit will only see the IP address of the proxy server, so that your real IP address is kept hidden. For more information on proxy servers, you may refer my earlier post on what is a proxy server and how it works? Types of Web Proxies Here is a list of different types of web proxies that you can try: Website Based Proxy Servers: This is the simplest of all methods. There are many websites on the Internet that provide free and paid proxy service for the users without having to install any piece of software program on their computer. The following are some of the popular websites that offer proxy service: www.hidemyass.com www.newipnow.com anonymouse.org proxify.com smarthide.com The above websites provide a field to enter the URL of the target website that you want to visit anonymously. Once you submit, they will establish a connection with the target site and presents you back with the intended page that you are trying to browse. The downside of using these free services is that, some of them will not offer a secured connection (SSL) and you will often be presented with annoying ads and pop-ups during the course of your browsing. However, you can avoid these by becoming a paid user. Browser Configured Proxy Servers: There are hundreds of freely available open proxies that can be found on the Internet. You can obtain the IP address of one of those freely available proxy servers and configure your browser to start using them. However, as they are openly available to public, most of them are either bottlenecked or perform too slow on normal conditions. Program Based Proxy Servers: A program based proxy server requires you to install a program on your computer and configure its settings. These provide you with an option to start hiding your IP address with just a click of a button. They automatically connect your computer to a private high speed anonymous proxy server to provide best performance. You also have the option to choose proxies based on location such as countries. The advantage of using this type of proxy is that, it is not limited to a single browser. That means, your computer’s entire web traffic is routed through the proxy, there by guaranteeing you with a highest level of privacy. Most of these programs come with a free trial where you are required to pay once the trial period expires. The following are some of the popular program based web proxies: Hide My IP Hide IP NG VPN Services: VPN services provide reliable ways not only to hide your IP address but also to protect your data and identity over the Internet. Here are a few examples of VPN services that you can try: Hide My Ass VPN VyprVPN visit http://gtbensmag.com |
Hi everyone, here's a few tips offered for security experts and web developers willing to secure and protect their data online. Hacking is not always evil, well if you dont, someone will attempt hacking your website someday so learn a few tips on how to protect your files or web projects. It comes in handy trust me. 1. Use Linux OS on and offline: I use Fedora or Kali Linux. 2. Clear your cookies from your browser after surfing the web especially if you're using Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8. 3. Run hack tools against your website. (will introduce a few in the next article) 4. Watch what you download. Not every app is useful on your computer. 5. Be sure your e-mail attachments are secure files before downloading. 6. Encrypt all your data and use technique on your login, registration forms etc. (that number and alphabet images that shows up for verification). 7. Use ssl (secure shell) certificates on your websites always. 8. Enable domain privacy for your domain names. Note: All these are good steps but sophisticated apps are being developed every now and then to breach security. visit http://gtbensmag.com |
Xiaomi is now the leading smartphone manufacturer in China, after surpassing Samsung in second quarter sales. The Chinese vendor, whose name means “little rice” in China, has witnessed a meteoric 240 percent growth from the same period last year. According to Canalys, Xiaomi shipped 15 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2014, up from 4.4 million sales during Q2 2013. Samsung, meanwhile, sold 13.2 million smartphones in the country, down from 15.5 million a year ago. Xiaomi now controls 14 percent of the Chinese smartphone market share, while Samsung, Lenovo and Yulong, the manufacturer of the Coolpad handsets, each enjoy a 12 percent market share. The ability to deliver great hardware at an aggressive price point has been one of the major reasons for the immense success of the Chinese vendor over the last year. For instance, Xiaomi’s recently unveiled Mi 4 has a retail price of $320, which is around half the price of what the Galaxy S5 launched for earlier this year. In addition to the flagship Mi 3 and the Mi 4, Xiaomi has seen a lot of interest in its value-based product offerings in the Redmi series, which normally retail for around $100. Xiaomi relies of direct consumer sales and does to spend much money on advertising, which allow the vendor to minimise overhead when selling smartphones. The brand has also managed to find a successful revenue stream with its MIUI custom ROM, which is pre-installed on all of its handsets. While MII itself is free, Xiaomi runs a theme store and offers services that are available for purchase. Although an overwhelming 97 percent of Xiaomi’s sales were accounted for in mainland China, the smartphone vendor is looking to expand into other markets as it seeks to attain its 60 million sales target for this year. We recently concluded a survey carved out from random sampling and interviews from and around the country. Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Abuja were our target areas. Here's a list of Nigeria's top 5 selling gadgets. 1. Tecno Android Phones. Since it's entry into the Nigerian market, Tecno Android based phones have been a commodity for almost every home or phone owners. Major reasons being, it is cheaper, posses stronger battery life, durable and cheaper repairs as phone parts or accessories seems to be readily available in the market unlike other brands. 2. H.P Laptops/Servers H.P laptops (China, U.S or European builds) grabs the number two spot. Every hardware vendor has a couple of these and of course, it is a top seller. Seems H.P has gained confidence in most Nigerians as they acquire its products for home or Office use. The Banks and similar institutions recommend H.P servers most often as well. 3. Android Tablets Android Tablets of any build have flooded the Nigerian market for about 2 years now. Note, the brand does not really count. End users just need an Android Tablet especially sim based ones as Wi-Fi is not as available when compared to developed nations. 4. Blackberry Phones Enterprise based Blackberry phones takes the number 4 spot. The prices of this device(s) dropped drastically with the introduction of Android in the Nigerian market but still its heads up as it is considered a "classy device" to own by most Nigerians. 5. Samsung Android devices Samsung has it at number 5 ranging from Samsung Android powered phones to Tablets. End users consider Samsung a reliable brand and seems to be closely following Tecno only more expensive. By Emeka Bethel http://gtbensmag.com

Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Cashless Policy seems to be taking effect as we have seen the introduction of ATMs and POS systems in our Banks, Stores and a lot of E-payment options on and offline in recent times. This indeed makes life more easier for everyone. But i have the scariest reason to not got crazy about the whole “cashless policy” idea just yet; taking into cognizance, the loop holes with security experts within the country. Dont get me wrong, am optimistic things will get better and am indeed loving it but it is good practice to know how a working system runs, how it runs, the processes involved and how effective it can be when disaster strikes. Now, being an open source advocate and a Linux user, i know for certain that Windows is the default OS used by Nigerian Banks, Windows Server at best. No disrespect but Windows XP just past its end of support lifetime and its predecessors are by no means more secure. Why leave my details online when hosted on such platforms? SSL Certificates and other security means will mean little on a porous network infrastructure. So here are my doubts. 1. Windows OS not good enough 2. IT Personnel’s employed by most Banks are not security consious 3. Most of the processes involved require 3rd Party participation 4. Applications/Software are not unique to our Banks 5. Most of our Banks are subsidiaries of Foreign Banks so verification processes sends out details beyond the shores of the country. If not, prove it. By http://gtbensmag.com |

HTC just can't catch a break these days. The company has been in rough financial shape for a while now, despite churning out stellar products like the HTC One. One of the company's biggest threats is Nokia, which coincidentally has one of the biggest patent portfolios in the mobile space. The Finish company has won a patent lawsuit against HTC where Justice Arnold of the England and Wales High Court has ordered an injunction against the Tainawese manufacturer's products, which are in violation of Nokia's EP0998024 patent on "modular structure for a transmitter and a mobile station". HTC's argument is that the technology is part of the Qualcomm chips the company uses and should be covered in a deal between Nokia and Qualcomm in the US. But to no avail as the judge has issued the injunction, which has been delayed until Friday so as to give time HTC to appeal. If that does not happen Nokia could file to ban HTC One sales in the UK. HTC's One mini has already fallen victim to Nokia and will be banned from selling starting December 6. HTC has evoked examples such as Apple, BlackBerry, Google, LG, Samsung and Sony, which all infringe on said patent, but that wasn't enough to save its case. Nokia had achieved a sales ban against the One smartphone line in the UK before, forcing HTC to change the radios and microphones inside the One. Nokia also won against HTC regarding its wireless patents, battery-saving patent in Germany, the list goes on. http://gtbensmag.com |
Why OLPC (one Laptop Per Child) Project Failed In Nigeria Opensource has brought a lot of good things our way besides free software. A few years ago, the OLPC project kicked off and i had nothing but excitement as one looked forward to seeing these laptops distributed to students of most public schools at-least in major cities in the country. The concept was to promote top class computing and equip future leaders with relevant skills needed for quality software development, technical-know-how and bridging the gap with the rest of the world.Unfortunately this was not the case. My perception is not far fetched from that of my colleagues Federal Character: The Nigerian attitude of North must be involved and control every internationally sponsored or approved project, South South carried along, South West to follow and South East compensated. I know a lot of my friends who are not Nigerians will not understand what this means but it is what it is. Try reading about other World Bank, IMF or internationally sponsored projects and you will get a more comprehensive understanding of the Nigerian system of things. Corruption: A general problem as we all know. This a country where the rich awards scholarships to their children yet embezzle public funds without remorse. We had issues where some of the OLPC Laptops where starched up in the residence of one senator after distributing to a friend and children of colleagues rather than to students of public schools. Poor understanding of Opensource movement: The Fedora Project posses Ambassadors, Online Vendors and same with other Linux distributions but i doubt if any of these individuals or firms where involved in the dissemination of information or distribution of OLPC. Most agencies involved had little or no knowledge of the opensource concept or movement. Relevant agencies or persons where not involved integrally and so it lacked passion and vibe. Poor distribution Channels: Distribution channels used where not known and had very little effect. I sighted an example of a Senator having such Laptops in his possession rather than having relevant agencies account for them. Hotels are by no means a suitable distribution channel for projects like this. Low Awareness: Publicity was at the barest minimum. Am sure as most Nigerians read this article, they lacked little or no knowledge of the OLPC project. Many never knew it existed or had been introduced to the Nigerian government. Airplay, coverage or distribution to less privileged students was non-existent. http://gtbensmag.com http://bensoftenterprise.com |
Before i start up with my critism, let’s not take a look at the positives of using Microsof Windows. - Ease of use: Windows simply put is the most user friendly OS available (not including Windows ![]() - Vast range of Software availability: Yes Linux can boast of lots of Quality applications but Windows poses much polished and available softwares (proprietary or opensource). - Driver availability: By default, OEM or Hardware manufacturers still consider building and shipping Windows drivers way before other operating system. Linux does an excellent job but we really cant take anything away from Windows when it comes to drivers availability Now let me give you a rundown of things you should consider and hate if you are stuck on Windows Environment 1. Poor support from Microsoft: When compared to Red Hat or canonical, the support you get from using Microsoft Windows is very minimal. A simple case of vendor lock-in, licensing and late release of updates, bug fixes or patches. This has a lways been a problem especially if you are deploying on a Server. 2. Viruses and Trojans: A constant threat for even professionals or experts on Windows environment. A simple popup could halt the entire activity of a Windows user or give out important details such as password for websites, admin passwords, system configuration and available loop-holes or open ports. Using Anti-viruses and keeping them up to date goes a long way but is never a 100% guarantee that your P.C is safe from hacks. Come to think of it, why do we have Anti-virus companies going strong when such threats simply refuses to go away? Could it be a source of revenue or are a group of crackers being paid to keep producing such worms or programs so a few folks keep getting their pockets filled? Consipracy maybe, maybe not. 3. Poor system performance overtime: Ever wondered why a newly installed Windows OS seems fast and up to speed in performance but lags or slows down overtime? After a couple of weeks or Months you notice a drop in performance even when constant maintenance is being practiced. Try using other UNIX OS or Linux and you’ld get a clear understanding of what i mean. File transfer is smooth on Windows but file transfer capacity is much limited meaning over a network, transferring much larger files is a problem or occurs slowly when compared to using Fedora, Ubuntu, RHEL or any Linux distribution. 4. Insecurity: You can never be safe or consider yourself safe online when using Microsoft Windows. Most hack tools where built with Windows in mind. In-fact, 87% of Hack tools target Microsoft Windows users and are always successful over a short period of time. It never takes long for intruders to break in to your Windows network or OS especially when using specialized tools. This is by no means good news for Windows administrators and one has to be up to date with the latest security tweaks and tricks if you are to have any form of hope or safety. 5. Expensive software: Unlike Linux distributions where alternatives to expensive software or servers can be installed without harm, Windows OS promotes proprietary software (software that attract licensing fees) much more than opensource applications. The truth is, opensource applications do have very lovely and equally productive alternatives to expensive applicaions but money making software giants like Adobe and Oracle are not willing to take chances or promoting what they consider free software. by Emeka Bethel for gtbensmagazine http://gtbensmag.com http://bensoftenterprise.com |
In a world where change is inevitable and Core IT development is nothing without the Opensource community, one wonders how long it will take for technologies like Linux to gain more than 60% Desktop market share in a country like Nigeria. Android already has proven to the world that GPL licensed software can go a long way in bringing about rapid and best quality applications plus a stable platform for development. In Nigeria, the server market still has a long way to go as we are stuck on Microsoft Windows Vendor Lockin and very adamant to make changes (Even when we know Linux has taken center stage when it comes to the server market). I recently deployed Fedora 19 on a client's Server box but you would not believe the amount of convincing i took just to convince my Client of safety, update and ease of use. Ofcourse, technical support was provided and i had to go a step further (by providing 2years support) as most Linux distributions only provide support for current releases. Now these were their fears Can a free OS be counted upon at any time? Yes! he fact that it is free does not mean it is way below standard. Infact, you have thousands of top-class developers from around the globe working on it, providing bug fixes, patches and more. Also, you also have a team of experts assigned to push these up-stream packages and fixes into the finished or ready to use Operating system. Hackers use Linux as base dont they? Only a Hacker can catch a hacker. The term hacker was never a back tag on a computer guru, these days we confuse hackers for crackers. Anyway, Linux was built with security in mind and has always proven to be more sucured and to a great degree, virus-free when compared to MS Windows. With a few tweaks, updates bug fixes, patches, port changing and security measures in place, you're safe enough to deploy a great deal on or offline. We love the free servers that come with it but is there a catch? No! there's no catch to this. It's as free as it gets. Maria Database provides you pretty much the same features as MySQL, Apache is more powerful and popular on most webservers when compared to IIS, Samba does a great Job if you intend you intend to share files locally or not. Plus these servers are in constant development by opensource developers everyday. If this good why not as popular as Microsoft Windows? Well, if users like yourself and more corperate bodies lear to embrace Linux with people like us and the entire Linux community providing the needed support it will in this part of the world. Ubuntu Linux is by far a popular OS, Fedora as well. Soon enough the Nigerian public will realise the immense opportunities they stand to get of contributing to these great projects and using Linux Emeka Bethel http://gtbensmag.com |
