Chelseafan1: I am not in a tussle with you, its clear to the deaf, blind and dumb that Messi 's brilliance and masterclass has bailed this Barca team out on too many occasion this season. He just did it again tonight.
It isn't coincidence that Barca lost, drew or won unconvincingly in most of the matches he didn't feature this season, No? The same person you called into question just a fortnight ago? Huh? Issorait! I rest my case. |

Chelseafan1: The team won City in the first leg na. City were disgraced sef, they just had to fight really hard in the second leg. Oga, losing na losing. Let's not start with such justification about winning the first leg. City won the first leg against Mönchengladbach, they could have lost the second leg they played tonight na. As e be say e dey allowed to lose the second leg after winning the first leg of a tie. |

The schedule of epl fixtures has always been an issue for top sides in england as it always take its toll on those top sides. Bro... Not again! How many games do top teams play in a year? Or rather, a season. I need a figure. |

philfearon: Why do Spain do so well in Europe? Because they have great oppositions at home who actually play football. When you play against teams like Athletico Madrid, FCBarcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Villareal; And play against such great World Best players like Yours truly, Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Pique, Ramos, Neymar, GriezMann,Bale, Koke,Arda Turan, Godin, certified more than platinum home and away, you tend to be at your best always.
Why are EPL teams failing in Europe? No good opposition at home. When a league uses low-lifers like Stoke City as reference point of how tough a team is, and uses the likes of Underachievers like Arsenal to point to how to play good football, then you know something is amiss and it's deteriorating rapidly and faster than a Canon ball. You can imagine someone opening his gut and spitting trash that there is a reason Messi has not scored against Chelsea. Apparently, Chelsea is the ultimate EPL team every other EPL club should look up to. Hurrah! And you still wonder why EPL is not doing so good aside home soil! When people wey get sense yarn, we dey know.

If i am a player of man utd, having tasted ucl nights before, i will devour two bottles of beer before those europa matches. Funny enough, this is not a good-enough excuse to lose to Bilbao home and away. We lost against City some weeks back according to you, according to your logic then, it's either we sold the match or we just weren't interested in winning since we knew definitely we would top the group regardless of that result. Bottom line? Winning is winning! Losing is losing! Don't come up with cheap excuses like the above. I rest my case. |

raumdeuter: This is the type of foolishness we talk about. Barcelona in the past 10yrs won 4 CL, 3 of those they beat an EPL team in the final Atletico serially molested Chelsea both in Super cup + CL. Their last 3 meetings have ended 7-2 aggregates in favor of Atletico Madrid have beaten every EPL team they faced City last yr, Liverpool even surrendered before halftime in Anfield in 2014 Sevilla beat Liverpool into a coma last Europa finals Barca have played Man City 6 times in recent years won 5 lost 1 If I remember correctly, Messi has played EPL teams 15 times scored 17 goals, Didn they forget how to tackle him in those games?
This is why the consensus here is that you are clinically insane

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by dmcdad: 1:48pm On Nov 23, 2016 |
Chelseafan1: Lol, Sebod and Dmcdad, I for one have never been part of the argument, however, its obvious to all that Man utd are enduring arguably their worst spell right now just as it was with Chelsea last year.
Arsenal is always up there as a top 4 team, we all know that, its not always easy for them to win the league, all this one they are doing na IGG, the real serious guys, serious contenders over the years are, I'll like to group them:
Tier 1 Chelsea Man city Man Utd (b4 Fergie left)
This season, truth be told, right now, it is like a 3-horse race between Man city, Pool and Chelsea, forget the other dead teams.
Tier 2 Arsenal Spurs Liverpool( a strong team too but its just not easy for them to win it even tho, they have been impressive this year though.)
A perfect example of why the EPL is crazy is Leicester winning the league last season against all odds, maybe the big guys were just average or Leicester really deserved it, that's another topic on its own, what I sha know is that, we are still waiting for when Deportivo or even Malaga will win the LaLiga, Liezpeg or Hoffeinheim will win the Bundesliga, Crotone or even Fiorentina will win the Serie A like fvccking Leicester won the EPL.
Bro I get your point. But truth be told, Leicester deserved praise for what they did last season, regardless of the form of other teams. Nevertheless, it's no news all (yeah I mean all) big teams in the epl last season were either poor or average, or even below average to say the least. What happened with Leicester last season was an obvious anomaly. The last time any other team (aside Barça and both Madrid clubs) won La Liga, it was in 2003 when Valencia did. That season, save for the introduction of Dinho and Edgar Davis in January of that season, Barça would have ended the season at the bottom half of the table. That was also still the Galactico era, where you know of course they (Madrid) didn't win any trophy. Hence, as much as Valencia, led by Benitez were great that season, it was down to the poor showing of the top guns that they won La Liga. Meanwhile, how can you explain the fact that Madrid had won La Liga just once since Ronaldo joined them. No, tell me they are a small team too. Since he joined Madrid, save for once they (Real) and Atletico won it apiece, it was always Barça winning La Liga. If they were to be some small teams, you guys would equally have attributed it to Bundesliga, where just Bayern win the league almost all the time, bar the Dortmund upsets some few seasons back. But thank goodness those 2 aren't small teams. So you see... La Liga being a 2 or 3 horse race is mainly down to the quality of the top guns. Imagine Alaves winning Barça at the Camp Nuo, yet not even Tottenham in their wildest dream would dare that. Funny enough, when Barça wins, as they always do, you hear people saying La Liga is complete shiit, and how bad other teams are. But when Barça loses, then you hear how bad Barça is, without giving credit to the other team and how the competitive nature of the Liga had caused such an upset. Be frank my guy... You EPL dudes are too full of yourselves when it comes to boasting about the League's competitive nature. Sometimes it's true no doubt, but other times it's just plain hype and nothing more. Mourinho gave a silly analogy last year, as to why Barça won the Champions league and why its easy for the likes of Barça, Madrid, Bayern et al to win it. And I tagged it silly because all the reasons or excuses he used to back up his assertion were negated by Barça enroute to winning the UCL last year. So, sometimes you guys just overstate the competitiveness of the EPL, and thereby making others rather ridiculously easy when that's not the case. |

Over 90% of our players are not living up to expectation. Alba, Rakitic, Masch, Suarez, Neymar, Busi have all been having shaky performances here and there. Pique and Umtiti have agreed never to play together.
