jonsnow92: You'll agree that on their day PSG can score 4 goals easily yea?..Their attack doesn't lack firepower its their defence that is always shaky..So they might concede..And then there's the Coach that makes terrible foolish decisions..Y didn't he start Do maria and Thiago Silva on Wednesday..All in all sha I still maintain its not like PSG are climbing mount everest to go through..They can if they want it. With regards to your last sentence... They want it, but do they have the necessary drive to take it by force? That's the million-dollar question. |

AbuMikey: Funny thing is PSG will go through to the Quarter Finals, and not Madrid It beats the shiit outta me to admit this, but Madrid are already through. I'm so certain of this. PSG are very unreliable. A team that bottled a four goal first leg lead could be taken seriously? Nah nah nah. It's like saying Barça would bottle a two goal first leg lead. Maka gini? Yes, Barça ain't Madrid and Madrid ain't Barça, but no matter how bad Madrid is, they can't bottle this, I am very sure of that. |

jonsnow92: Despite appearances,I'm actually a very good coach o..Really though I agree with most of what you typed up there,City are actually Challengers mainly because of Pepito but they have their Weakness too..Mainly have your attackers running at their center backs, their center backs are very very vulnerable..We saw Liverpool expose that to perfection..Overall though point is anyone can beat anyone and we won't have a clearer picture until the Semis..I'm just certain Madrid won't retain the title again. The problem for me is that most of these other teams respect Madrid too much. Same way City respected us until Pep came in. Noticed how we always defeated them pre-Pep? And even with Pep although we beat them, but then, they returned the favour. |

sebod: I beg to disagree sir!
City lost to Liverpool because of Stone's error and the injury to Delp which led to the introduction of Danilo. The pairing of Otamendi and Laporte would definitely fare better. That said, Madrid's defence is known to be conceding goals here and there even against the farmers of this world. With KDB in the midfield coupled with the attacking foray of City, they will kill whatever confidence left in Madrid. If there's any team I wish to avoid, that's City. Pep has instilled his style in them. They would press you like mad when off the ball and pass life out of you when on the ball.
Blame Emry and his boys for PSG loss. You can't expect much from a coach that bottled a 5-goal advantage over his rival. Even a team of Barca fans captained by dmcdad and coached by jonsnow92 can't surrender such a lead.
As regards Liverpool, I also believe they stand a chance of knocking out Madrid. Their attacking firepower is better than that of Madrid. CR7 adds nothing to the attack other than....... you and I know that Benzema is a deadwood in attack already. their defence too is nothing better than that of Pool. The strength, ability and agility of Salah, Mane and Firminho would be too much for Madrid to handle.
I can't also write of Spurs at this moment, if they could do it in the group stage, they can do it all over again. There's nothing special about this Madrid team. PSG can only blame themselves for their woes.
My point? Any sound attack minded team with a solid midfield and a decent defence will knock Madrid out in a balanced match devoid of referees one-sided favouritism. Their defence is porous while their attack is not really great. Well said... Honestly. But you know the problem with this post of yours? It's that when it really matters, the aforementioned teams tend to disappoint especially at a stage as this. Meanwhile, aa per the Liverpool vs City game. I would disagree about the Stones thingy. Yeah, Stones was horrible in that first goal, but admittedly, he wasn't the reason Liverpool scored the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Infact, if not for them missing sitters, then it would have been over at HT. Not to undermine City though cause I always said if they had a minute added to time alloted to them by the ref after the 90mins, they would have drew the match. Just that, Madrid surely knows how to take advantage of certain lapses like those of City's. Anyway, it remains to be seen what will happen here-from, but then, Madrid might just get a Liverpool or a City in the next stage. Let's just watch and see. |

jonsnow92: Funny thing is Lots of teams this season are creating lots of scoring chances and scoring lots of goals..Liverpool, City comes to mind.. If a team.creates lots of chances,I mean real chances..No matter how profligate, over two legs they would still go through..PSG's problem on Wednesday wasn't structural, meaning it can be fixed next match day..They dominated that game and played well on a difficult away ground..In the second half,Madrid rarely came out of their shell until Ororo's 2nd Fortuitous goal..So It can be fixed and they can beat this Madrid side 2-0..They really can..
Whether they would is another question entirely Well... As much as anything can happen, I can say that Madrid are through already. Don't expect anything worthwhile from PSG. You know why? They ain't got the mental attitude to turn such a tie around. And, there is absolutely no way Madrid are not gonna score at the Parc des Princes. For me, the tie is already over. |

jonsnow92: I slightly disagree..Madrid won that game fortuitously..Another refree might have overlooked that penalty given for Kroos.Yes the defender was clumsy and very stupid but another ref would have overlooked..Also the deflection goals and all that..For most of the game PSG had several opportunities to punish Madrid but were profligate and less clinical in front of goal.. Trust Madrid to punish them when the chance came because Madrid had more experienced players and were relatively calmer.
Infact A more clinical PSG in Paris can beat Madrid and turn the tie around..2-0 would turn the tie in Psg's favour so you see its not so bad as first thought.
This Champions league Quarterfinals would be very interesting really and anybody can beat anybody. Relativity beckons... Football is about creating and scoring chances, right? The thing with the less experienced sides is that, they can create several chances, but will they have the ruthlessness to convert? And I also think too much respect for their opponents play a role too, which was why I stated it categorically clear that this Madrid would defeat any team from here on bar Barça. Now let's do a bit of reminiscing... In the last Clasico, we won three nil, right? And deservedly so too. But Madrid would have killed the game in the first, but they didn't convert their chances. You see? And we went on to win the tie by a good goal margin. The scoreline might have translated to a flawless display from Barça, but for those who saw the game they would attest to the fact that it wasn't a flawless one despite the scoreline as we would have lost the game in the first period. So, I'll have to reiterate that, conversion of chances matters as much as creating chances. Would they other teams have the ruthlessness to convert their chances against Madrid? That's the question. Tottenham did it in the group stage, but we both know that was then. It's a different ball game now. |

Yahoo1: Neymar. "After a performance like this, it’s clear that we don’t have what it takes to win this competition yet,” Neymar told reporters. “In Barcelona, I won the Champions League with Messi. Do they expect me to do this by myself? Maybe if we add Messi here, we can win the Champions League in the future.” Is this for real? Why wishing he has Messi now? I thought he wanted to be outta Messi's shadows? But I honestly doubt the authenticity of this. Ney would never say this. |

phaamsaam: Tottenham has proven on their day they can, mancity would dominate madrid from start to finish and they don't waste chances, Liverpool would go gung-ho score me I score you, We can't be too sure on Liverpool As much as it would be wise to give credit to other teams in terms of how they could match Madrid, it should also be known over the years they've all failed. Yea, Man City are hot, but they are vulnerable at the back. I watch their games and if a team has enough attacking fire power, they would have it hot, and little wonder their game against Liverpool was a goal fest as Liverpool has the necessary firepower to trouble them at the back. Now imagine an attack like Madrid's against City's shaky backline... It's gonna be suicidal. Liverpool? As much as one has to give them credit for their attacking intent, playing against Madrid would be a not-too-good experience for them. Yes, they would score eachother, but their back line would definitely be more vulnerable to conceding than Madrid's. What Tottenham did in the group stage they can't repeat against Madrid. Madrid would almost beat them home and away at this juncture. Even the likes of Bayern are a piece of cake. I reiterate, only Barça have what it takes to take down Madrid. The rest will only try, but they'll fail woefully. |

phaamsaam and every other Barcelona fan making mouth that PSG would do this and that, what say you?
People like Royalblack007 and Debroslink said it on this thread. I said it too. I hope Cules that have been making mouth that Barcelona would do this and that to Chelsea learned something tonight. I'm not saying you shouldn't support your team but be cautious. Caution is the key word.
God I know you know I've not made any mouth about how we will beat Chelsea silly, so pls help us eliminate them next week. Amen! As much as I ain't a fan of making excessive noise about how we will beat a team silly, yet it should be noted that it happens with every club. Go to the Chelsea thread and some other places online and imagine what they said they would do with Barça. In the course of last night's game, Chelsea fans were just reiterating that they would kill Barça... As in, they would do to Barça what Madrid was doing to PSG at the time. So, just know it's a normal thing with most fans, hence you should tone it down with the 'caution' 'caution.' thingy. It's a normal thing that happens with football fans. Besides, whatever you say prior to the game, whether optimistically or otherwise, it wouldn't change the outcome. Moreover, do you think because you applied caution with regards to the match, and maybe Chelsea ends up winning, do you think the Chelsea fans on here would spare you trolling? I guess not. Like I said... It happens everywhere. Alot of Chelsea fans are full of confidence already that they would defeat us. It's a two-way street bro. |

Mcleo007: PSG are so out... Madrid would beat them in Paris, as I don't see them doing better than they did tonight. This tie was always going to be won in the midfield, which of course has Madrid in upper strength. Clowns like A. Rabiot got nothing on Madrid's dynamism in the middle of the pack. Only two teams can take out this Madrid, and they are Barca and Bayern. PSG are simply no match! Honestly, only one team can take this Madrid out; Barça! |
