I ain't vouching for Bartra but, what would you say about Ramos with what Robben did to him? Having in mind the fact that Ramos is one of the best defenders in the world today. Bartra wasn't even fully fit for that match.

For me, Ramos' case was worse. So, whenever you wanna talk about Bartra, look for something else to use against him and not that one.

I'm with you... Plus Suarez and Messi should be alternating as required by the play. Then Iniesta will give way for Rafinha, or Rakitic give way for Roberto as the case may be. In some cases, Marquinhos come in for Piqué. In some cases, Pedro (since we know those block heads will never sell him but wanna sell Alexis instead) will come in for eiher Neymar or Suarez. And so on...

Cuadrado (playing primarily as a forward ) looks a pipe dream with no news of the sale or otherwise of Alves. What I see is Montoya getting more playing time this season to aid his development. The irony is that so far argentina's defence has been superb but the attack has been embarrasingly pathetic! Embarrasingly pathetic I repeat!! Their problem isn't concession of goals but lack of goals. Apart from messi who else scored? An own goal and marcos rojo. I don't know what games people are watching but from my tv set rojo, zabaleta, fernandez and garay have been impressive while aguero has been poor. What about higuain? Higuain can't even dribble one defender to win 1 million pounds. HIGUAIN IS THE WORST PLAYER at BRAZIL 2014. Seriously whoever says argentina's defence is the problem just has that fixated in their mind. The number 10 named gago is just a midfield congestion, sabella better player 10 men instead. With belgium and the netherlands in their path, argentina will not win the world cup if only messi and de maria keep doing the jobs of 6 midfielders/attackers. One more thing, the goal keeper romero has made some incredible saves. He isn't argentina's problem.

My two teams on this tournament are still very much around (Brazil and Argentina) and I have watched all their games without a single exception. Take away Messi from the Argentina side, and the attack is the worst in this World Cup. But on paper? They are the best and... you name it.

Aguero's loss? Let's face it, on paper Argentina are up there with the likes of Germamy and co. Yet, they have all failed to live up to expectations unless Messi who has taken the team on his shoulders thus far. Maria is trying, and played his best game against Nigeria, but is far from his best. Even the game against Switzerland was almost below an average game on his standards before the goal came. And of course it came courtesy of the Argentine wizard, the demi-god.

Have you checked on the stat so far? To know that prior to his injury, he was among the worst players of the World Cup. How about Higuain? Like his brother Aguero, he is a flop (at least so far). I find Lavezzi better than Aguero in this tournament, and like I told someone after the Nigeria game, it may just be a blessing in disguise. Lavezzi ran riot all through the first half against the Swiss side. Gago has been good, Mascherano has been fantastic also with breaking up plays and assisting the defence every now and then. Zabaleta is even far from his best but still trying. Rojo has been awesome, albeit he won't be in the game against the Belgians. Fernandes and Garay have tried so far, afterall it's no news that Argentina are just an average team when it comes to defending. But sincerely, their defence has been great and Romero has been good to me, considering how he was before the World Cup. He has really improved I must say. I never liked him prior to the World Cup, but to be frank he has been awesome in this tournament.

So, if you see, on paper they have the most lethal attack, but has it been so thus far? Far from that! If not for Messi's magics, what do you think would become of them?
