Tinakem:Thank you! And to everyone else, thank you, too. |
DMworks:I promised that I’ll share additional details, and here it is. First off, let me apologise for submitting it a little later than normal, it is due to the peculiar nature of my application, and because of that, this may be a slightly long read. As we all know, what God cannot do does not exist, and it is Him I give all the glory. Timeline: Submission – May 15th Biometrics Update – May 21st Medical Request – September 14th Medical Update – September 16th PPR – September 21st BVL – October 1st LOI – October 5th You may be wondering if I made mistakes with the dates—far from it! Sequel to my application submission and the updating of the biometrics on May 21st, the long wait started. I continued to follow this thread and many people suggested that those without upfront medical should consider doing one to avoid slowing down their application. Circa the first week of September, I decided to do the upfront medicals, and picked 14th September. The appointment day came and I went to the screening centre, completed my medicals and headed back home. Some few minutes after settling down, I received an application update email—it turned out to be medical request. Isn’t God wonderful?! I was joyous. Joyous because more often than not—and as we’ve seen here—a medical request indicates a good chance of approval. The doctor at the screening centre already told me that they’ll send my result in 24hours, so I waited until the following day, then I raised a webform, attaching the sheet the medical centre gave me. I also sent an email with the same content to Nairobi and Lagos offices. Then things began to happen dramatically. I received PPR on 21st September, meanwhile my eligibility started about 3 days prior. I was happy but equally restless. My application status still showed the last update as ‘medical’ and I didn’t receive the typical BVL/Correspondence before the PPR. Anyway, on the 22nd September I sent my Passport to VFS Lagos office (I did biometrics in Lagos), and was delivered to them on the 23rd, then I received further update that it’s been dispatched to the Lagos Office on the same date. On the 29th, I received another update, this time saying they’ve received my decision envelop, and later documents at Abuja OC. Abuja ke? I was startled. Meanwhile, my application status last update is still showing ‘Medical’ while Final Decision is still ‘Your application is in progress…’ Anyways, I continued to mumble prayers randomly lest village people score a 90+6 mins bullet header. On 1st October, I received an email of changes to application status, and I remember having palpitations. I managed to open it and it is the BVL. It was truly a relief! My LOI was sent on October 4th, and I received an update that Passport has been processed and sent to Abuja VAC, followed by series of updates. Long story short, I received my stamped passport this afternoon. For my application, it’s just GOD. I submitted the most basic of applications. Documents The necessary IMM forms SOP – 4 pages (I honestly think that it is the best of all the documents there—well written) Unconditional Offer Letter of Admission Certificates (Birth, First Degree, NYSC, WAEC) Siblings Birth Certificates Employment Confirmation Letter ID Card CV Passport Data Page Sponsor’s Account Statement (Not MBS) – Closing balance of N30m Sponsor’s Passport Sponsor’s CAC Sponsor’s Letter of Introduction and Sponsorship I didn’t submit any property document; I didn’t submit my personal account statement. My sponsor has a different surname. Yet, God showed up. NB: First Time Applicant; No Travel History. I pray that those that are awaiting decision would receive positive feedbacks by God's grace. |
NewBrosJay:Congratulations! May God perfect your wife's. |
Good morning, everyone. I have two questions: 1. Does anyone have an idea of how long or the average time Lagos office return passport after request? 2. I have a friend who's got a medical request. How does the swap thing work and is there anyone kind enough to swap? Thank you. |
SweetJJ:Thank you, Yes. |
Sandra734030:May 15th |
Brethren, what God cannot do truly doesn't exist. My love letter landed. No BVL sef, just medical request, then PPR. And my application? It's probably one of the weakest. I'll share additional details later. Thanks for the incredible help, guidance and support everyone here is doing. May God answer those waiting for their own too. |
makano:Thank you for your advice. I have been sent the updated LOA but I guess I'd just stick with uploading only the medicals for now. |
Hello Everyone, Thanks for all the support and guidance you've been offering here. I'd like to get clarity on my application. I submitted since May 15 without medicals, and didn't hear anything, bar the biometrics enrollment that was requested and completed some few days later. My school resumed last week, and because physical attendance for the first day of class is required for a number of courses, I deferred my admission till January, 2022, then did upfront medical this morning. Now, I've just received medical request. My question is, do I need to inform them that I have deferred the admission till January or should I submit just the medical information sheet alone? Thank you. |
