This to inform our prospective Students that owing to unforeseen circumstances, that the 2017/2018 Screening Exercise scheduled to commence on the 14th September, 2017, has been postponed.

A new date will be communicated in due course.
Candidates are therefore advised to visit the University website for further information in this regard. Registration for the Screening is still on going.

Any inconvenience caused by this postponement is regretted.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dispelled rumours that the Corps was “recruiting underground” and carrying out replacement exercise.

The Corps Public Relations Officer, Mr Emmanuel Okeh, said this in a statement in Abuja. Okeh said the Commandant-General (CG) of the Corps, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu, had urged job seekers and the general public to disregard the rumour. Muhammadu said the false information was a gimmick being peddled by fraudsters to defraud unsuspecting applicants of their hard earned money.

He noted that a number of unemployed Nigerian youths had shown interest in enlisting in the Corps.

“And this has attracted some dubious individuals who have resorted to spreading false news and sending text messages to them on non-existing recruitment and replacement exercises,” he said.

The NSCDC CG stated categorically that the Corps would advertise its existing vacancies before the end of the year for interested candidates to apply.

This, he said, would be done as soon as fund was made available to the corps. He said that the documentation and data capturing exercise for personnel presently going on at the State Commands of the Corps nationwide was being misconstrued by criminally minded individuals to mean recruitment or replacement exercise.

He said further that the fraudsters were all out to take the advantage of the ongoing exercise to drive home their aim of defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians.

“That due to the forthcoming promotion exercise, the Corps is only issuing old letters of appointment and promotion to personnel who merited it.

“But for administrative reasons they were unable to receive their letters in the last exercise conducted and it is expedient for them to document at this point in time due to the forthcoming promotion exercise,” he said.

The CG, therefore, advised applicants to exercise patience and wait for the appropriate time the Corps would advertise its existing vacancies in major National Newspapers.

The Assessment Test Phase for 2017 Application season closed last night at 23.59pm. Congratulations to all those who were able to write their tests.

Now the next stage after the Assessment Test Phase is the Pre-selection Stage. This is the stage where beneficiaries will be pre-selected for physical verification.

The Pre-selection Stage will likely commence at the END of September, 2017. When this stage commences, the list of pre-selected applicants will also be released to the public.

Those (Applicants) who missed or were not able to take the assessment test phase for 2017 application season was because of invalid details and unmatched BVN.

During the time of application, volunteers were advised to provide correct details. But we found out that most applicants provided wrong details which led to the end of their application.

According to posts shared via his Instagram page, Yul who turned 35 recently, was at the Democratic People's Congress (DCP) party headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, on Tuesday, August 22, to pick up his nomination form, proving he means business.

Speaking to Premium Times in a phone interview, Yul reportedly confirmed the event, stating that he was on a mission to "liberate the people of Anambra state." He said: “My nomination form event, as anticipated, amassed a large number of Igbo youth who are pledging allegiance to their 35-year-old gubernatorial aspirant; which is my humble self.”
