flourishing247:yes. |
hunee:Thank you. I am thinking #500,000 may be too small and maybe she can reapply again with a co-sponsor that is a relative. |
hunee:She is a frequent traveler. she has been to the UK, Dubai, Austria and Paris in the past. But she was not even asked about this. |
Hi guys, SO my mom was denied her visa today at the Lagos consulate. Her reason to visit the US is to attend my graduation in December. I She was only asked two questions, what she does and how much she earns. She is a business woman and in her ds160, it was filled that she earns #500,000. So she answered that she makes a minimum of #500,000 in a month and sales may go as high as #1million in some months. The VO asked her about her income twice and told her she's not capable to visit with that amount and gave her a blue paper. I really want her to attend my graduation guys, please I'll appreciate if anyone can propose a solution that can increase her chance if she was to reapply before December. Thankyou. |
ABUJA APPROVED DATE: 14/7/2021 My visa interview was seamless. I was interviewed by the chubby White lady in window 7. The VO really took her time to listen to all I had to say. ME: Good morning Ma'am VO: Good morning, pass me your documents. I can see you're going for a masters degree in Political Science. ME: Yes Ma'am, at Western Illinois University, Macomb in Illinois. VO: Why did you pick this school? ME: I picked this school for a couple of reasons. First is because I was fascinated with the research of Prof x whose research interest is on Feminist political thought and I have expressed my desire to work with her on my thesis which will be on "The influence of public policy on feminist political thought". The school also offered a blend of public policy and public administration which I was actively looking out for. I also received a 4kusd scholarship which sealed it for me. VO: What is your plan after this degree? ME: I will be returning to Nigeria to advance to the role of assistant lecturer with my current employer x University. In the long run I'll be kickstarting my career in politics and governance here in Nigeria while also beginning my own ngo which would be geared towards women empowerment in politics. VO: Who is your sponsor? It says family on your i-20. ME: my mother, Mrs x, she is the CEO of x, a big textile business here in Nigeria. (she cuts in) VO: What do you say she sells? ME: She is a major distributor of bridal African fabrics all across Nigeria. She is also into property development. VO: alright. Then she kept typing for like a minute and said my visa has been approved. She spoke about the regular covid 19 guidelines. She later asked if I was going to book my flight myself and I answered yes. Then she handed me my white slip. God is good! |
You should call their graduate admissions office or your department. They are probably very busy. |
Hello, I am also an aspiring WIU Masters student. After submitting my application, I got a mail a week or 2 later that it's been received and that a follow up mail will be sent after my documents have been reviewed. homodele: |
You'll need to talk to someone in the US to help you pay for it. Most times it's usually by cheque. Ddnazy: |
Jukwasi:oh, thank you. I will send a mail to my coordinator then. I am going for Masters in Political Science. |
Good day. Please for anyone who has gotten admission into Western Illinois University, how long after sending your admission documents did you get a response? I have sent all my documents since January and what the school said was they'll refer someone to me after my documents have been reviewed. But I am yet to get a response since. Please I'll just like to know how long it took for anyone who got a response from WIU. |
Hello, I'm new on this platform. I'll like some answers as regards where I can take my masters degree in Social Work and preferably where I can get full funding. |
