The governor can't say he wasn't aware that the states free school buses were used to import thousands of thugs into Abuja. If the guys I saw yesterday are what passes for 'delegates' from Borno state, that will be a shame. Then again, I forget that thuggery is a protected 'profession' under this government.

That's why they call it oil futures, term contracts, fixed-volume contracts, or take-or-pay agreements. If Dangote has entered contract to supply fuel to external parties, he MUST keep to the terms of that agreement.

That's how the oil industry works. You are a crude seller or a refiner. I enter contract with you to supply me crude at a price you and I think is fair but the crude should be delivered at an agreed future date. Normally, we'd calculate what we believe crude will cost at that future date based on current happenings or trends. Irrespective of how the market turns out, you will supply me crude or refined product at the price we agreed on.

In Benue state, the Chinese have set up a cassava processing facility. It cost them 30 million dollars to do so. Trucks from far and wide bring cassava there. The last time they did so, one of the staff, who didn't even go to school, moved over 300 million naira. How can a land so blessed be so cursed? Led by men so evil! If the white man was looting his treasury like our elite do, will they be able to build a country where our elite always run to? What is wrong with us?

First, Iran doesn't import crude for refining. Nigeria does. Secondly, the costs of extracting crude is different across countries. It costs Saudi Arabia roughly 15 dollars to extract a barrel of crude while it costs Nigeria around 38 dollars or so. It costs the US about 65 to 78 dollars to extract a barrel of crude. I mention this because even if Nigeria was refining its own crude and not importing, fuel here will never be as cheap as it is in Iran.

Dangote doesn't buy crude daily. If he hasn't exhausted the crude he bought when oil was over 100dpb how do we expect him to reduce prices without suffering loss?

Funny thing is US refineries can't really process American crude. This is because US crude is light just like Nigeria's. Most of their refineries are built to process the sour or heavy crude that countries like Venezuela produce.
This tiny detail played a huge role in motivating the US to attack Venezuela earlier. Securing that crude source, the US felt confident that should the situation in Iran go sideways, its supply at home will not be affected.
