I bought a toks pressure cap 2day so wil b observing d situation.

experts in d haus pls help!

I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry v6.noticed the top radiator hose was leaking 4 days ago nd I took it 2 my mechanic who bought a tokunbo hose nd replaced d bad 1.
problem is since dt time my Camry has come close 2 overheating about 4 times....usually I notice vapor coming 4rm engine area 4rm coolant boiling onto engine components. nd wen dis happens, d reservoir tank is usually almost full.
I have checked d 2 hoses, dy r both hot meaning thermostat is opening. I have filled wit coolant about 3 times only 4 d episode to occur again.
my fans r nt connected directly nd I dd a test which confirms dy com on intermittently wen I idle nd wen engine is hot.
I have already changed radiator cap cos I noticed d rubber on d old 1 is worn bt it still appears lik d problem is there.
prior to this, my car runs fine no overheating, temp mark gets 2 half mark after som minutes of driving. this only started after changing d too radiator hose.
I read online dt I might av air in d system nd I need 2 burp d system. suggestions include opening d radiator cap, running d engine nd increasing car heat den pushing d RPM to 3000+ a couple of times 2 get rid of d air.
my mechanic is saying air shld find its way out on its own nd his pointing fingers at water pump.I dnt bliv its water pump cos everything was fine b4 d hose change.
I need gurus advice before going ahead wit d burping or any intervention.

I use Toyota 5w 30 but its alwayz difficult getting som1 to buy in Lagos nd send 2 me in akure.I was actually considering changing 2 either mobil 5w30 or coastal which som1 said is semisynthetic 5w30.

Wheels are my first and only suspects.

1. Wheel balancing; a conservative way to deal with this is by swopping the rear tyres to the front and vice versa. Test drive to see.

2. Bad wheels. Let your tyre technician check for swollen moulds or twists on your tyres.

3. Bad shafts can also cause this.

Please let's know when and how this is solved.

had a similar experience, most mechs checked nd said its alignment, wheel balancing nd som accused d tyres....after doin alignment nd balancing in 4 different places nd buying 4 new tyres wit no improvement, som1 suggested bad shafts and problem stopped once I changed it

Not to embarrass the OP but how can car owner be able to work make enough money to buy car yet not understand the basic things about cars.
Its like someone not being able to tie their shoe lace imho
If a new owner can't understand the concept of mileage, vin, EPA mileage, How do the grasp the concept of maintenance schedule?
Please sometimes wiki and google will help explain these things better then we can see how it applies to the "Nigerian environment" that defies all the others in the world.

Actually we shld find a way to complement these kazeens knowledge with ours and stop this everyday castigating of kazeen bc they r very impt to most of us.
Without kazeens most of us will nt b running our car bc we may nt afford expert services. There r a good number of things dt good kazeens do excellently n we shld appreciate them for it.
I won't b running my toyota carina e without them kazeens, who implement d knowledge I acquire frm here.
Some of us here can't tighten a wheel nut n they won't let kazeen b.

kazeems av bn saving our ride since b4 we had cartalk......only problem is, rides moved on nd kazeems dnt.but we shldnt jst view dem as out 2 ruin our vehicles (though dey at times do 4rm ignorance)
I av cultivated d habit of teaching any kazeem I meet 2 improve dia knowledge base.
av taught a road side mech bout importance of thermostat ...though it took time b4 he blived me, bt naw he fixes thermos bak 4 customers nd tels dem its a new fix 2 improve fuel consumption. .....wit result! !
naw he advises people 2 use 5w-20/30 on dia carz.....he even got a marketer 2 stock coastal 5w-30 wich he naw refers customers 2 4 purchase.
he naw reads dipstick 4 ryte kind of trans oil....he uses dw-1 nd t4 as appropriate naw.
am sure he is still kazeem in som ways bt KUDOS 2 him 4 embracing CHANGE! !.

av a friend whose accord is at 346k miles, I actually screamed wen I saw it.I tnk he bought it at around 220 - 230k miles.....2004 accord...transmission still going strong. ...neva had d dreaded ball joint leg break issue....only tin he has done was change engine oil nd shocks once nd tyres.car still a speed monster on d road..nd no chk engine.
