Three weeks after his May 29 inauguration, President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening relocated to the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He joined his wife, Aisha, who had moved in on Thursday. Before he finally moved in, the President had, on Sunday afternoon, visited the Presidential Villa briefly. Those who thought he had finally relocated to the seat of power were however shocked when Buhari left the premises after spending a few minutes. He later returned finally in the evening. Since their inauguration, Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have yet to relocate to the Presidential Villa. They have been operating from their private residences and the Defence House, Maitama, which is the official residence of the President-elect. Surprisingly, however, the President’s wife on Thursday relocated to the Presidential Villa at a time when her husband was out of Abuja. Buhari was at that time on a two-legged private trips to Kaduna and Daura, his hometown in Katsina State. Multiple Presidency sources had said that the President would join his wife inside the Presidential Villa upon his return to Abuja after the trip. However, when Buhari returned to the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday, he retired into his private residence in Aso Drive, from where he had been operating. But on Sunday afternoon, the President reportedly visited the Presidential Villa, apparently to spend a few minutes with his wife as he prepared to join her. “The President was here this afternoon (Sunday). He arrived at about 2pm and spent about 30 minutes before he left. He later returned in the evening. At last, the President has moved in,” a Presidency official said. It was not clear at press time whether Osinbajo had also moved in. With his relocation, Buhari is expected to operate from the President’s office for the first time on Monday. http://www.punchng.com/news/finally-buhari-relocates-to-aso-rock/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter |

President Muhammadu Buhari has already done in three weeks what ex-President Goodluck Jonathan couldn’t achieve in six years, this is according to the APC. The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this known in a statement. The statement read, “Within three weeks of President Buhari’s inauguration, he has done what the PDP government could not do in six years: Invigorate the fight against Boko Haram by rallying a regional and global front against the terror group. “Today, the United States has pledged $5 million to the fight against Boko Haram, in addition to other material support. This is apart from the support that has been pledged by the G-7 to strengthen Nigeria’s efforts to quell the insurgency. “Thanks to President Buhari’s shuttle diplomacy, the Multi-National Joint Task Force that the PDP government could not bring together for all of six years is ready to deploy more soldiers next month, while the President has ordered the release of $21m to facilitate the establishment of the headquarters of the force in N’Djamena, Chad. “Since assuming office about three weeks ago, President Buhari has visited Chad, Niger, Germany and South Africa, winning support and friends for Nigeria all over again and returning the country to the comity of respected nations. “Those who were put off by the PDP government’s resort to politicising the fight against Boko Haram – even as the insurgents grew stronger – are now joining President Buhari to battle the terrorists. In no distant future, the results of his tireless efforts will begin to show.” The statement added, “On the domestic front, President Buhari has been handling pressing issues far away from the klieg light, and his efforts to assemble a first-class team to implement his change mantra, which he is personally driving, are continuing apace. “We in the APC are sure most unbiased Nigerians are very proud of President Buhari and the vigour he has shown in governance, the kind of vigour we did not see in the immediate past administration that was presided over by a far younger man... |
obailala:Nope...I don't hate the man, according to the mechanic the car stopped due to water entering via the exhaust and as for Rochas, from my own understanding if a city like Owerri is suffering from flood, I think the government shoud be the one to address this or would u rather I be the one to award the contract of a proper drainage system in Owerri? An example is d-line in Ph, but the government (Amaechi) award a contract that helped the people in that area, my question is why can't Rochas do the same, mine you am not trying to compare both states, it was just an example... |
GarrisonCommand:Lol...I am not mad at him, am just trying to make him understand, new model cars are mainly diagnosed with computer and in our dear country it cost a lot to use and replaces any computerised stuff in the car, anyways I am not from Imo, I went on a visit but the pple are nice and welcoming |
Jenams:If u are a car Owner as u claim, u would know the meaning of brain box, try and ask for the price to obtain for Honda accord 2011 before u insult pple my guy... |
It was raining a cool evening when I decided to pick my friend's wife that was trapped due to the rain, then I got stock on my way to pick her, because of the bad road I had to take an unusual route, then suddenly as I was driving pass the road my car just stopped running, then the water underneath was just at the tyre level, then I was trying to get the car running by attempting to start the car severally but it didn't start, so i stayed there hoping when the rain stops I will come down to check what it was...I stayed for about 30 minutes but then it was still raining so I decided to slide the car seat back to lay and relax, suddenly I started feeling water underneath my feet, I was shocked to see that the water outside has increased, almost half way to the door, but then water was coming in slightly through the door and underneath, before I knew it there was so much water in the car and there was nothing I could do because if I open the door, more water will come in...then I opened the car window and came out through it, looked for a bow and started bailing water out of the car...till the rain stopped, this was an awful experience and I wish never to encounter such ever again...This happened in Owerri, imo state, it is one project that the governor of the state has failed to address and it is causing a lot of harm, I spent about 400k to get my car running again, wasn't easy at all... someone please tell the governor to do something about this...have a wonderful morning my fellow Nairalanders..

Outgoing Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano state has left a debt of over N105 billion meant for the payment of 2,715 uncompleted projects in the state, a transition committee has said. The Chairman of the Transition Committee and Deputy Governor-elect, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, disclosed this while presenting the committee’s report to the Governor-elect, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje. He said out of the more than N313 billion cost of the projects, the state government was able to pay N202.5 billion to contractors handling various projects. However, Abubakar said the state government also inherited 665 projects valued at over N72 billion from the former administration of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau. “Out of the amount, the government has paid over N40 billion leaving an outstanding payment of N33.2 billion,” he said. According to him, there is also unpaid approved vouchers of more than N20 billion at the office of the Accountant-General. “There are 7,494 recently employed civil servants whose names are yet to be on the payroll of the state government. “These civil servants have an outstanding salaries of over N789 million,” he said. He explained that of the N419 billion the state government received from the Federation Accounts within the last four years, it had spent N418.1 billion. “Similarly, out of the N346.5 billion the 44 local governments received from the Federation Accounts, N346.2 billion was expended, “By this report, it means we have very huge challenges to contend with. “We need the understanding of people of Kano state as we have already started the austerity journey.” Responding, Ganduje thanked the committee for carrying out the assignment as expected. He said the report would serve as guidance, precautionary, a source of inspiration and determining from where the government will take off. |

A childhood friend to popular Nigerian singer TuFace Idibia has penned an open letter to him chastising him for criticizing the outgoing PDP Government. According to the friend identified as Eric Amodu, TuFace is a hypocrite and doesn’t have the moral right to criticize a corrupt government. Eric has however stated that he doesn’t have personal issues with the entertainer but only advising him that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Read what he wrote below: Too bad you threw the bomb at yourself on this. You are my friend but the truth must be told. Question 1. Name a single soul you’ ve ever helped? Question 2. Why did your fellow childhood friends deserted you? Question 3. What have you given back to the society that made u? Infact lets go deeper First of all, OJB produced you and brought you to limelight and even gave you a song for free without you paying a dime. But you threw your back at him when the world was rallying round to save his life. Not even a dime from you when lesser musicians gave their widows mite. No any Idoma sons could say he’s on your scholarship list yet you have the mouth to talk back at the people that you helped in eating from their states’ funds. You ate the resources meant for Benue State during Akume days in PDP as a governor when he bought you a Camry. How about Donald Duke when he was the PDP governor of cross Rivers State? He lavished the state resources for you and still paid 20 million naira just to reunite the plantation boiz yet you have the guts to say PDP did nothing? Better still, you for reject all the money. Akwa-Ibom state governor under the PDP-led government lavished the money meant for the state to sponsor your wedding. Why didn’t you kick against it when he gave you eight jeeps and sponsored several people to Dubai just to attend your wedding? Jolly Nyame wasted the state resources on you and you practically abandoned Lagos for Taraba just because you began to taste the juicy side of unmerited resources from government coffers. Don’t forget… when you sang ‘I dey feel like so so so and so person… because you de spend for me.’ Over 70% of the names you mentioned were PDP people you joined in eating away the future of their states. Brother man, sorry to say this… you don’t even stand the moral ground where conscience speaks to talk about PDP. I would love Banky W, the little Davido that just started, Ice Prince, Don Jazzy and so many others to talk because they don’t dine with the PDP and their states’ funds yet they’ve given a whole lot to the society. On your wedding day, you took away the pleasure of the eyes from Nigerians to Dubai so that dem no go fit benefit even small thing from you. Stingy life. |
Obiodunukwe:You guys have started again, who is arguing with u that it is not in a yoruba land? the OP just said all tribe are making effort to see it come through with their works even the white men, so what are u being protective about, na wah o must u guys always be tribalistic ....kia Nigerians |
Na God win |
I must say this is Nigerians last chance for a better Nigeria, if this present government fail, not that i want them to fail, then a white man should come and rule us because then there will be no black man that can lead us ever in Nigeria if this Messiah fails |
The dumbness of the “CONVOY ” story: BUHARI and APC SHOULD STOP DECEIVING NIGERIANS ■ While Nigerians are praying for the health of their president-elect, General Buhari, the APC was in fact celebrating the fact that he turned down the use of convoy and exotic cars in London. For clarity, Prime Ministerial Rolls-Royce cars are not exotic but presidential. I think that we should start Buhari-APC orientation on this page, since they jumped that session in Aso-Rock for a UK escapade. ------------------------------------ ■ Presidential convoy is a mandatory process not a treat. A convoy simply entails the guest or VIP travelling in a group consisting of aides and security for protection. With our dead memories, have we forgotten how a Nigerian leader, Murtala Muhammed was killed with his aide-de-camp on February 13, 1976? Nigerians equally praise him for driving without a convoy until his car was ambushed on the way to his office at Dodan Barracks, Lagos. ------------------------------------ ■ Just like the United States and Cadillac, in the UK, Rolls-Royce is ‘Prime Ministerial’ and officially used by the Prime Minister and other government dignitaries. Prime Ministerial Cars are NOT “exotic” but are designed for respect, security and protection. ------------------------------------ ■ Buhari and APC must realize that the presidential position has standards that must be upheld. If Buhari wants to use Okada, he must save that for his Daura retirement, but as the president, he must adhere to official protocol. In this system, he must understand the distinction between a representative process and pugilistic military orders. ------------------------------------ ■ Managing ethics is not about turning down an air ticket for a boat ride; it is not about an executive president using a public transportation rather than a mandatory official convoy. These are mere disgraceful window-dressing that bear no relevance to the values of moral supervision and practice. Moral decency shapes moral people, but they are rather practiced than displayed. ------------------------------------ ■ How can Buhari turn down an official convoy, but did not turn down millions of stolen dollars and hundreds of corrupt politicians that ran his campaign? How can Buhari turn down an official convoy, but did not turn down Tinubu’s “exotic” private jet? How can Buhari turn down official convoy as “exotic?” whereas he is yet to account for a missing 25 billion naira he personally handled as the chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) between 1998-99? How can Buhari make claims of fighting corruption while already, he is engaging the same corrupt politicians for his regime? ------------------------------------ ■ Buhari and APC should stop deceiving Nigerians about corruption. It may be impracticable for Buhari to embrace an ethical environment without first of all cleaning his filthy campaign financiers, and of course the APC environment besieged by the very hooligans that sucked the country dry.

Mr Femi Fani-Kayode says he cannot be intimidated by threat of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to discipline him for calling for their sack. Fani-Kayode, the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, stated this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday. He spoke shortly after the resignation of the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu. According to him, I am vindicated by Mu`azu`s resignation. He, however, insisted on total overhauling of the party with the resignation of other members of the NWC for the party to return to its former glory. “I am glad that about seven hours after I said somebody should resign, somebody listened and stepped down. Every single one of them should go’’, Fani-Kayode said. “I was a special adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo for three years under PDP and I served as a Minister too. “I served as Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation. In a sane clime, party members should be able to criticise their colleagues when they go wrong. “Did they ask for Gov. Ayo Fayose to be disciplined, did they query Gov. Babangida Aliyu and Gov. Sule Lamido?” According to him, these persons have at different occasions asked for the resignation of the PDP NWC members but they are not reprimanded. He wondered why they want him reprimanded. He said as a citizen, he had the right to freely express himself, adding that he would never be cowed or intimidated by the threats from the NWC. http://www.today.ng/politics/you-cannot-intimidate-me-fani-kayode-tells-pdp-national-working-committee/
