A gruesome incident took place last night in a lodge at Dumbolo area of Eziobodo, Owerri, Imo state.

A 100L Student from the Department of Crop Science Technology, FUTO, identified as Daniel Chinedu was shot Yesterday night at his lodge during a robbery attack at about 9pm.
According to his roommate " We had noises from our neighbour, chantering on a robbery going on in the lodge, Daniel heard it and looked out of the window to check what was going on and was gun shot at his mouth and neck region"
He was rushed to the Futo Medical Center and was later transferred to FMC Owerri for further treatment.

As it stands now, he is stable and is currently undergoing treatment.
He also posted on his Facebook account, appealing to his friends to pray for him as regards the gunshot wound he received.
His friends are seen posting prayers for him on his timeline and indulging others to pray for his quick recovery.

Hence we appeal to the leadership of Eziobodo Community and School management to work hands in glove to see to the safety of our students outside school Campus.
Students are also advised to be very security conscious and make sure your lodge gates are closed as early as possible and avoid late night movements.

The pictures also tells a story of the insecurities in the country,where a man and his two children were at home,the boys became hungry and their dad after putting some sachets of Indomie on the fire left to get them water,and as he returns he saw his boys on the floor in the pool of their blood.

They had been attacked and shot dead by some unidentified men,who are nowhere to be found.

This is the now Nigeria we live in. We are not safe here anymore,every year,month and minutes.

This calls for us being careful in our daily activities and should also endeavor to always put God first in all we do."

As for the road, we have all be waiting for it to be fixed like we've been waiting for the 2nd coming of Jesus!

The 2021 FUTO Marathon Olympic Competition was successfully conducted and concluded on the 25th of Sept. According to the SUG Director Of Sports ALUTA BILLY SMART, He had earlier said that he had no dought of the competition not holding, though little challenges were observed at the beginning of the competition, one of which the competition didn't start at the agreed time, 6:30 but rather it was delayed till around 7:30. Other challenges were also observed too.

Before the Competitors kick-started, the competition was observed to be fully Equipped. Visual Equipments like Camera's, and Drone were made available, as useful personnels like The Nigerian Red Cross were also present.

The Competitors took off from Futo Back Gate, headed straight to old SEET roundabout then towards Ezibodo junction through the back of workshop, turned round and headed straight to Futo Main Gate. From the Main Gate they headed back repeating their movement till they got to the road beside Optometry Department, passed under the Otammiri Bridge and headed towards FUTOWA. From there the Competitors diverted into Umuchima then headed straight to Asabaka Square which was the finish line. Indeed it was a very long and unimaginable race to embark on. The distance of the race from start to finish is 8.26km.

Though it took a little while for the Competitors to end the race as few persons fainted, some gave up and some located shortcuts, it finally ended with laughter and congratulations between the Competitors as the Winners were fulfilled.
