Yujin:So why did Ironsi appoint the more far junior ojukwu as military Governor of Eastern Nigeria instead of the more senior Wellington whom you claimed Ironsi had promoted to Brigadier while Ojukwu was still a colonel ten years junior in service of Wellington? Why? |
Imagine if Ned was just another southern polotician feon the SS and SW. The kind of insults he would have been getting from the mob no go be here. They will label him a Muslim terrorists because Ned is actually a Muslim. They will drag him out as a pedophille for marrying that small girl Regina. Ned defected to APC long before both the governors of Delta and Akwa Ibom but not one of the mob his insulted Ned for defection rather they have focused on Sherrif and Eno's defection |
Streetinvestor2:This may come as a surprise to you but NL and its politics section was not created to pander to your Agulu fraudster's every foolish outburst. This forum has been long in existence before your Agulu fraud messiah got to limelight and it will still be here long after your Giringory fizzles out into obscurity after the next elections is done and concluded. But isn't it ironic that when your Biafra ipob blodas open their senseless revisionist threads you never tell them to stick to present pressing issues but when others like myself create awareness topics highlighting the root ccause of the senseless civil war, you all begin to scream out in pain? By the way, if I create a topic on your same agulu fraud, you will be the ones telling the world that Obi is a private citizen and that any critiscm directed towards him is from an obsessed tribalist . You do not have any right neither can you control the type of discussions any poster here chooses to create. |
Christistruth02:And the same Ojukwu had the effrontery to be talking about following military heirachy . Why didn't Ojukwu protest on behalf of Wellington who Ironsi had been promoted above ? Why did Ojukwu not remember military heiracgy after Ironsi made him Military ruler of Eastern Nigeria instead of Wellington? Also ,I did quick search here on Wellington and read the usual lies by one of them (Njoku) defending why Wellington was denied promotions and command. Njoku claimed Ironsi was more "educated" despite Ironsi not attending any university in his life. What yardstick they used in deterning how more educated Ironsi was to Wellington only them can provide. Also, Njoku who has been deemed an inept and failed soldier even claimed in his book that Wellington could not be trusted to command a Brigade and that he lackrx leadership skills - all traits that Njoku was know to fail misreabley at . These people hypocrisy is in their blood |
Zik had ensuted no seccesion clause was inserted in our constitutiin at independence. Same Zik had attended the inaugural OAU General Assembly and his first assignment there on his own prompting was to present and get a charter signed by all then existing members to see each others inherited colonial maps as sacrosanct and inviolible Guess what that charter will come to haunt Ojukwu and his biafra when no African state except Senegal recognised Biafra. Zik thought by replacing the cerebral Yoruba nationslists with a pro northern Akintola who was openly anti ibo like the Sardunna he had won Zik's foolishness and myopia is what you are ll crying and lamenting today kettykin: |
Christistruth02:Drop more on Wellington Bassey. Was he assassinated ? |
Christistruth02:Its obvious to me now that the constituinoal amendment in 1963 that disposed the Queen of England as HoS in place of elevating Zik from Governor General to HoS wast to ensure all sensitive positions in the Nigerian security, civil service , judiciary were headed by those Zik wanted in place. And if you go back in time you will find the most impatient people back then demanding an acceleration of the Nigerianization program were all in Zik's camp. This is why the same Zikists were the most violent prone independence aggitators who were ready to deploy violence against the colonial government. A Zikist was even arrested for attempting to assassinate the British Governor General Now you must understand that independence meant different things to the 3 major tribes in Nigeria . The north was never colonized rather it was a joint rule with the British who allowed the existing Fulani civil administrative structure to continue . Unlike in the southern regions, northern Emirs still controlled tax collection and sharia courts were maintained separate of the British courts. The Emir of Kano had an annual pension paid to him by the British government that amounted to €9,000 a year while still being allowed to keep half of the tax revenue in his realm. Contrast with that of the Oba of Lagos who was paid a stipend of just over €200 annually despite an earlier agreement that he be paid a tribute percentage of all goods passing through Lagos ports . No monarch in the south was allowed to set or collect any tax rather it was done directly by the British and the customary courts of the Obas had been stripped for British courts. With this in mind you will see why the north wasn't ready for independence and also saw it as a reason to continue their halted jihad further south. In the western region, the Yorubas wanted the British out so that they can regain dignity of self rule . As per the ibos, they saw the colonial estate which they served diligently as their bequeathed inheritance. To them, independence simply meant replacing the outgoing British govt with an Ibo one. And Zik's antics proves this. Ojukwu's insistence of having the present SS part of their rogue Biafra even despite deep reservations from the minorities not wanting to be part of Eastern Nigeria and Biafra proves the colonial mindset the IBO inteligentia had inherited from their colonial servitude. |
kettykin:Its obvious that Awo was framed to get him out of the way. Zik mistakenly saw the north as easy to deal with . The change to a Republic with Zik as now Head of State was all ochestrated to ensure all sensitive positions in the military , police , universities(VC) and civil service (Perm Secs) were now under exclusive discretion of Zik as HoS. Zik even sacked Balewa as PM and attempted to dissolve the government . Gowon has since stated that Ojukwu approached him and Ejoor to overthrow the government towards enthroning Zik as sole president . Do you think Zik could have gotten away with all his rubbish starting with changing Nigeria to a Republic for the sole reason of transforming himself from Governor General to HoS if Awolowo was in the picture ? Awo was the first victim of that coup and he was taken out in a conspiracy laced set up 5ys prior in 1961. |
Christistruth02:You can see from Gowon's account how Zik had began to see his office higher than that of the PM and had attempted to dissolve the Balewa government by sacking the PM to which the PM sacked Zik back. Now fastfoward to how Orizu and Zik refused to swear in the deputy PM who was next in line and was a northerner in the NPC. Instead , Zik and Orizu decided on their own to hand over to Ironsi. From Gowon's account and how Zik betrayed our constitution and democracy by handing over to Ironsi and the previous cracks in the coalition government, you don't need to be a genius to see that Zik was the architect of the Jan 15 coup and the failed Ojukwu coup earlier in 1964. Zik used his powers to ensure Ironsi replaced the outgoing British Maj General and from there the plot was set to overthrow the government. |
More from Gowon: Afterwards, I went to see our commanding officer, a British officer and told him he should get all of us senior officers and brief us on whom our loyalty belonged. Yes, our loyalty belongs to the government. Zik is part of government and Balewa is also part of government. So when you start talking of starting something like that in favour of one particular person and not the whole government, there would be problems. “So I asked the GOC to call of us and discuss. And I can assure you that I did not mention any name. No name was mentioned but he called all the senior officers to be briefed on the correct thing to do, which he did and made contact with the Inspector General of Police Mr. R. Bovell and the Attorney General and all the legal people to be able to define what our loyalty should be. And of course, we were briefed on what our loyalty was. And so, probably that stopped the possible first coup in Nigeria. |
Christistruth02:Here is Gowon's account of Ojukwu trying to instigate a military coup on the behest of making Azikiwe supreme ruler: “I don’t know why people keep referring to the so-called rivalry between me and Ojukwu. There was no question of rivalry between us at all. As young officers in the army, our relationship was exceptionally good. We were very friendly. The only time that anything happened was in 1964 after the election, when Zik sacked Balewa and Balewa sacked Zik. That was the time that probably you can say certain developments led me to give a warning, because there was this question of some of the senior military officers between Banjo and Ojukwu, urging the military to intervene on behalf of Zik. “Of course, I listened to their presentations and what I thought they meant was that there should be military intervention led by us the senior officers at the time: With David Ejoor as the GSO 1, as the Senior Staff Officer, and then myself as Adjutant General of the Nigerian Army and then Ojukwu as the Quartermaster General and then Banjo as the head of the electrical and mechanical engineers. “Now, four of us: Ejoor from the Midwest, myself from the North, Ojukwu from the East and Banjo from the West. So if you have four of us from the four regions of the country at the time saying that we are heading a change on behalf of Zik, and not the government, what does that mean? So, I warned, asking: “Is that what you meant? Count me out! God help anybody who starts any such nonsense.” |
Depriest2020:It was Gowon that reported the coup plot being instigated and planned by Ojukwu and Banjo to the then British Maj General. Here is an interview of Gowon published in Vanguard detailing how he went and reported the matter to the then most senior military head. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/01/ojukwu-banjo-conceived-what-could-have-been-first-coup-in-1964-gowon/ |
Depriest2020:There are so many things you never knew about Nigeria that iccured prior to and immediately after independence. |
Powers in Britain had a hand i seeing that the over radicalised leftist ideologue , Ojukwu was not thrown out of the army after the Senior Ojukwu reported to the British government that his Oxford trained son had joined the army as a recruit . Normally, the likes of Ojukwu was dangerous for any army as he was too political and had already become radicalised on campus in Oxford into communism. Ojukwu was however not thrown out of the army but was converted to the officer cadre by the British colonial govt. The seeds of communist sedition was being planted in the Nigerian military by the outgoing colonial government and this I believe was all orchestrated by MI6 which at that time was headed by Baron Victor Rothschild. Victor Rothschild had been implicated but never mentioned until years later after his death as the 6th man in the Cambridge 5 Spy scandal. Cambridge and Oxford had been indoctrinating and recruiting grounds for future communists. All the 5 spies convicted for spying for the Soviets attended Cambridge when Victor Rothschild was in attendance undergoing a post graduate degree in Botany . Ojukwu, like many Zikists of that era, had undergone Marxist indoctrination in universities in Ibadan and in the west. Victor Rothschild was the sole owner of the Rothschild Shell Petroleum which had passed on to him following his father's death. The civil war was deliberately instigated using useful idiots in the Zikist movement for the sole reason of ensuring Nigeria's oil wells fell under exclusive control of Rothschild Shell through war debt accrued from dumping antiquated and excess WW2 weapons to prosecute that senseless war. Note that Britain was bankrupt at this time following ths end of the second workd wae and loss of their colonies. The civil war was meant to recolobize NNigeria throigb war debt . The banker and oil man, Victor Rothschild was the sole beneficiary of that war and he achieved it by putting his useful idiots in place to cause chaos. After the war , Nigeria fell into debt and the oil all became Rothschild's property. |
Depriest2020Your beloved Max Siollun wrote about this on his website https://maxsiollun./2007/12/16/ojukwu-hero-or-villain/ What I wwanto know is if Ojukwu was planning his coup to free Awo. Why also was no disciplinary action taken against Ojukwu and his attempted coup in 1964? |
Even despite US troops on ground in Israel manning the THAAD anti ballistic system that was shipped free of charge by Biden to Israel. The Jordanians are also actively deploying their missiles and air force to intercept Iranian missiles and the entire US military in the middle east in both land locations like Iraq , , Syria and their naval fleet in the ME are actively monitoring and trying to intercept Iranian drone and missile barrage. If not for the US and Jordan, the entire Telaviv would have been raised to the ground by now. But how long can the US and Jordan continue protecting Israel with their ineffective and highly expensive toys only time can tell. Trump has no choice than to reign in Netanyahu before this senseless conflict instigated by Israel's belligerent fanatics burn the entire planet because Israel with all of NATO and the US can not win a war of attrition using missiles and drones against Iran. Sooner, the fanatics in Neyayahu's coalition government will go full Samson option rather than see to Israel losing to Iran. |
The coalition government between the NPC and NCNC was plagued from the on start by mutual mistrusts . The senior northern NPC which controlled the executive through the PM position was trying to wrest the near absolute power Azikowe and his NCNC had on the army. The likes of the Sarduna had come to realize too late the imbalance in Nigeria's Military especially within the officer cadre and was carrying out mass recruitment drive in northern secondary schools to redress the imbalance. The Sarduna only began paying attention to the Military after it became known through the constitution that the powers to appoint who heads the military lied in the hands of the President and not the PM. The position and powers of the President had been broadened and expanded by Zik after sucfesfully getting Parliament to remove the British Monarch as the ceremonial titular head and expand his powers from Governor-General to Sovereign Head of State as the President. The position held by Zik had changed when Nigeria became a Republic in 1963 with Zik now having more powers as the Head of State unlike his previous limited and mostly ceremonial role as Governor General. As the President, Zik now had full and absolute discretion in making some appointments without recourse to both Parliament and the senior coalition partners in the NPC who held the PM position. One of many such positions was the appointment of who will head the Nigerian Army and Police. Zik had cunningly got others in Parliament to dump the Queen as Ceremonial Head of State so that he can assume the position towards ensuring he gets to appoint solely whoever he wanted in such positions. Other than the Police and military, the appointments of VCs and Rectors and Permanent secretaries, ambassadors now came under Zik's exclusive sole responsibility. Note that at this time, the Nigerianization policy was still ongoing and the relics of the Colonial era were still holding their positions. One such prominent position was the British Maj. General who as at 1964 was still heading the Nigerian Army and was tasked with nominating his succesor. Major-General Welby-Everard had nominated three of rhe most senior officers to Azikiwe in descending order of whom he thought was most and least qualified to head the army. Brigadier Maimalari was both the youngest in age and lowest in rank but the British Maj General had him on the top of the list as the most qualified for the job citing his brilliant and stellar military career compared to his superiors. Zik , will rather choose the least qualified in the form of his fellow Ibo , Ironsi whom the British Maj General wrote the least of. Zik, had now abused his new powers to push his ethnic agenda. The Nigerianization policy was now being seen by others especually northerners as an Igbonization agenda with Zik doing all in his newly expanded powers to place his fellow ibos in vantage positions of power. During the 1964 federal election crisis, the President and Prime Minister jockeyed for control and loyalty of the army. In the heat of the crisis some of Ojukwu’s colleagues alleged that he approached them with a plan to overthrow the civilian government and replace it with a military government. The matter was reported to the army’s then commander Major-General Welby-Everard. Nothing happened as Zik stepped in to ensure Ojukwu did not face any internal disciplinary action or criminal prosecution for sedition and treason. |
Who do these people think they are that they can freely insult leaders of others and put their wide noses into the affairs of others ? They will leave their backward state and incompetent governors and leaders and take their busy body selves to other states in the south and be making unguarded and unwarranted critiscm. I have never seen a people like this in my life. |
Tjra:Those naive non Ibos in the Obidient movement should thank their God that Obi did not win or else they would have gotten the ruddest shock in their lives Every revolution movement has at its core a tribal/racial agenda and whenever the revolution succeeds , the tribal /racial agenda is exposed. Every gimmick and dirty tactics being deployed by the obidient isn't new but goes back to the Russian Bolshevik movement who after seizing power did not waste time rollibg out their ethnic agenda by ensuring all powers are consolidated in their grasp while they went about purging the movement and new communist government of others not of their ethnic stock. Its also worth noting that every communist movement like our Obidient Marxists, has a racial/ethnic supremascist agenda fueling it. This is why Hitler made that now plagiarized statement that "not all Chews are Communists but all communists are Chews". Fulani supremascist agenda was what motivated all Fulanis to support Uthman Dan Fodio. Naive Hausas deceived by false rreligious and societal reforms joined the Fulani jihad to wage war on their kings. After the jihad, all powers went to the Fulani and the Hausas are now slaves and subjects of the Fulani invaders. Same thing happened in Russia with the chews seizing power. The Zikist Marxist movement that emerged prior to independence had an ethnic supremascist agenda to enthrone ibos into all positions of power post independence. That movement inspired supremacists like Achebe , Ifeamjuna, Ojukwu , Nzeagwu and co. You can't talk of the Jan 15 Ibo coup without referencing the Zikist movement. Ifeanjuna who instigated other ibo officers to join his mutiny was a Zikiist during his days in Ibadan College . Ifeanjuna joined the army specifically to carry out a coup in the future just as Ojukwu who was a card carrying member of the British Communist party (Oxford campus branch ) initially joined the army as a lowly recruit to instigate future communist uprising and mutiny from within. The Zikist were inspired by false ethnic chauvanism and pride. The Zikist movement by and large led to the avoidable and senseless civil war. The civil war and perpetual ibo victim hood , inspired Biafraism which has Zionist ideology embedded solidly within it. Biafraism aka Zio Marxism as professed by IPOB is at the core of Obidient movement. That is why Obi thinks himself as the new Zik and the obidient are exactly like the pre independence Zikist movement. Just as Zikism that once promoted a Marxist one Nigeria but later morphed to a Zionists nationalist movement , so also are the obidient (present day zikists) one and the same with ipob Biafraists. They can easily switch to either Zikism (Obidient) or Biafraism (IPOB) because what matters to them only is to enthrone an ethnic agenda and if they can't get it through Zikism aka Obidient movement , they switch to Biafraism aka IPOB mode. Only a naive person will be blind to their antics |
Yes — I know the clowns dragging Akin don’t represent the Igbo people. But unfortunately, a disturbing number of loud-mouthed Igbo Twitter boys and girls have NOT condemned this filth — and that silence is shameful. Absolutely shameful. This is what he is yet to understand about these obidient lunatics. They never will condemn any bad or evil being perpetuated by one of their own. Even here on NL, they will attack you if you respond in kind to one of their feral ipob but will never condemn the ipob lout who was on rampage castigating and insulting others over their tribe , religion and politics. |
Sun Trust Bank was originally a Housing and Real Estate Development firm that transformed to a financial bank. How they made the switch and why they did is testament of all the shoddy money laundering deals they did as Real Estate developers especially in the FCT . These guys are also fingered in the Achimingu money laundry case. They just transformed themselves to a bank in line with anti money laundry laws that have since been created. While most Real Estate firms are shutting shop and going bankrupt , these guys were thriving and as the EFCC case against them exposes, they were just using both their Realtor and now banking front to launder funds for crooked politicians. Go to Abuja and you will understand how these real estate firms are the main conduit to launder illicit funds . FCT is probably the only major capital city in the world that doesn't have a housing shortage or crisis . Rather there's a housing glut due to so many unoccupied and springing housing estates that are far above the average Nigerian . Remember, Emefile also used to launder stolen funds into real estate . Imagine the number 1 banker not believing in investing in industry , agriculture but rather saw housing sector as his preferred hedge against crippling inflation and currency deflation he as CBN governor was expected to fix. |
ariesbull:You can only decieve people who have never set foot in that your SE and those who have no interest to do so. If Owerri is so good, why are your people including those from Owerri and Imo moving to other states and regions ? |
If its so good, why are you guys not flocking to it instead of heading in exodus droves other regions? |
Unlike them, I never knew Obi that well and fell for his false sainthood. I began seeing Obi as a charlatan and a fraud early in his campaign journey in 2022. The man was full of empty words and every statement he made on critical issues back then were empty mouth salads that had no meaning or offered any real solutions. It took Obi trying to market himself to the public for me to see who he really was. As a trader, Obi can sell about anything they make in Chiba but as a politician , Obi was and still is woeful at selling his own persona . The thing that drove me away with utter disgust was not just his rabid supporters who are IPOB as well but Obi abusing the pulpilt as campaign ground. The irony today is those who knew Obi as a fraud and corrupt charlatan way back are the ones out of pure ethnic chauvanism , the ones trying to foist Obi on us. They knew Obi was a fraud and charlatan but as long as he is their best choice to the Presidency , they went back shamelessly to sell their shit face Obi as a bouquet of scented flowers. Obi should know that his biggest enemies are those in the obidient lunatic quarters who have always hated him and are now only supporting him over their ethnic agenda. They don't like you and they will goad you into another foolishness like they always do to those they come to see as their messiah . And after pushing you to your end, they will abandon you. |
