This is one of the few comments on nairaland to surpass 700 likes within 2hrs. Good work selflessmaya... |
MrEgbegbe:You couldn't have said it better, bro! #evil-baby-elephant |
SirElaw:Good observation there. What expl0rer did brings to mind the popular quote - "When you point the index finger to someone, the rest fingers point back to you" |
Just concluded running blood group and genotype for an unknown client of with "Buhari Muhammed" labelled on the specimen container. It got my mind wondering - "Is this actually Bubu's blood type?", "Is he back in the country?", "Does he need a blood donor?"... Lalasticlala, what do you think?

deeplow:You nailed it real good! |
HERSLEY:@Hersely, I'll bring the oil. Oga Blaze don go work.... |
eyeview:It gladdens my heart when I read an enlightened and unbiased opinion like the above. The elders say that when you point a finger, four other fingers point back at you. APC change your "chanji". |
HERSLEY:Those of us who liked your comment are seeing more than your words. We can see the "bigger" picture. Sister you are blessed! |
Mizquote - Your story takes me back to the good old days of Nollywood, when we enjoyed good script writing delivering suspense-laden drama. May your inspiration sour higher as your nairaland fandom increases. |
THIS LAND IS NOT FOR SALE.... BEWARE OF 419 AND MY SON KAMORUDEEN, OMO JATIJATI!!!! |
Mizquote: with this level of intrigue, I believe your story will be a nairaland best-seller... |
pguy:I won't be surprised if someone like you have not published a single book worth reading because it's quite obvious from your comment that you don't know how mentally tasking creating fictional stories can be. Misquote, take this break and plot a solid progression in your plots and a befitting climax. Kudos on your effort so far. |
Happy Sunday Misquote. It would be nice for us to see an update of your fictional story. I in particular am quite eager to know how she was able to scale through giving birth to her baby daughter and getting an accommodation, while still holding on to her "hussle". Did she eventually find someone who turned her blood from black to blue? Or did the story tapper into a tragic climax? We anxiously await the rudder of your imagination to steer us through this unanswered suspense. Thanks! |
Barney11:I didn't know back then. It was still early and unnoticeable. Anyways she told me about it and got rid of it later. |
Misquote: you just made my day! Charles AKA Doncharley, the son of a Rev, lost his virginity to a pregnant prostitute... is almost an exact description of me, although I'm actually the grandson of a Reverend and my first sex was with a pregnant girl, not a prostitute. You are awesome! |
Misquote keep on firing. We are solidly behind you.... |
Happy Birthday Mizquote... Long life and prosperity!!! You just earned a special place e in my heart with this beautiful piece. I'm earnestly waiting for your update. Pls add my name to your plot (Doncharley AKA the Don). Thanks!

gasperkoya:The last time I checked in history, an "incorruptible" leader in France invented the 'guilty' for beheading corrupt opposition members, only to end up beheaded when the tides were turned against him. |
coolitempa:It's refreshing to see people with genuine sense of direction voice out their opinions. What the average Nigerian need is a progressive change, rather than this one-sided vindictive propaganda we're currently facing. Our persistent push towards a progressive state would eventually shoo out all elements of bigotry and backwardness currently plaguing us. My two cents... |
Lt. Col. Gowon cultivated a secret body of advisers who shuttled from Kaduna to Lagos and the Middle belt, consulting with traditional leaders, opinion moulders in commerce and academia. This was in March 1967. The group, known as the Kitchen Cabinet, worked quietly without public attention, mobilising support for the government, firmly manoeuvring to thwart Ojukwu's secessionist bid. Of course, Ojukwu's direction was obvious to everyone. But when it would come and how, no one was sure. The mission of the group then was that if war was unavoidable, its magnitude could still be tamed. In May 1967, for three weeks, the Kitchen Cabinet which comprised ten young men, mostly in their early thirties, met informally at No. 17 Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi to sift through the various submissions they had received on how to keep the nation together. The meeting-place was the residence of Alhaji Shehu Musa, who was a junior aide in the Ministry of Finance. The relative obscurity of his official position must have informed the choice of his house as a strategic cover from intrusive attention. Musa's residence, situated in the charming* exclusivity of Lugard Avenue with its luxuriant palm trees and scented orchards, was a one-storey colonial structure with sloping conical roof, low iron fence and with generous spacious garden where the young men met daily, conscious of the weight of the national burden, unrushed, sobered enough to seek a conciliatory middle-ground of arresting the dark portents. It was Alhaji Shehu Bakari, a taciturn geographer who steered the discussion of the group. Bakari who hailed from North Eastern State (now Adamawa State) was then a Director at the Ministry of Education. He was a man of unobtrusive intelligence. A graduate of the University of Ibadan, he had a grave and dignifying demeanour. He was well-respected both in the civil service and in the larger political arena. With able guidance, he nurtured the consensus of the Kitchen Cabinet, skillfully articulated the discernible national yearnings. The result of this was the recommendation to the Supreme Military Council to create twelve states from the four regions. It was on the rectangular ebony hue table in the high dome dining room at the Lugard Avenue residence that the first sketch of the new states was drawn. On May 27 when Lt. Colonel Gowon officially announced the creation of the twelve states, Lagos State finally emerged as a full, independent entity, beholding to no one, save its indigenes. For long treated as an orphan, its resources appropriated by foreign sovereigns, its people tossed about since 1861 cession like infants needing protective guidance, Lagos was now finally liberated from the clutches of its alien shepherds, eager to fashion its own destiny, enthusiastic about grappling with the challenges of its own developments, its own growth, raring to prove the world wrong! - From Johnson To Marwa: 30 Years Of Governance in Lagos State (By Prince Uthman Ademilade Shodipe) Source: bit. ly/1JkgIUR (remove space) cc: lalasticlala, obinoscopy. .....How can you claim to want to be President of Nigeria and then claim you are only able to work with people from your section of the country
.....All his campaign promises are being backtracked on and no new policies have been tendered or are being suggested
