Very true. But why create a replica of a trusted account only to be taken more seriously. You can make sense even if you are a nobody.

Good observation there. What expl0rer did brings to mind the popular quote - "When you point the index finger to someone, the rest fingers point back to you"

Nairaland / General / Buhari's Blood Type? by doncharleyosumo(m): 10:41pm On Feb 02, 2017
Just concluded running blood group and genotype for an unknown client of with "Buhari Muhammed" labelled on the specimen container. It got my mind wondering - "Is this actually Bubu's blood type?", "Is he back in the country?", "Does he need a blood donor?"...

Celebrities / Re: Meeting Mark Zuckerberg Or Jidenna 'Classic Man'? by doncharleyosumo(m): 11:29am On Aug 31, 2016

Some people will come here and yab whoever doesn't pick Mark.

The truth is, it depends on your person. None is more right or proper than the other.

For a musician, meeting Jidenna makes more sense. If meeting him would allow you access to showcase your work, your music style might appeal to him, before you know it, big things might happen.

In fact, there are more realistic opportunities that could spring up from meeting Jidenna. A blogger might be picked to document his local tour. Being a Fashion conscious person, emerging fashion designers might get big opportunities from him rocking their designs.

For a "no-computer knowledge"/ zero-business sense person who would claim to want to see Mark, because it seems the more mature, you are on your own. You will only be lucky to get a handshake.

Even in the case of a tech-savvy person, I doubt there is something you want to propose to Mark, that he doesn't already know about, or known by people who work for him.

For me, I will meet none of the two, as I am not interested in both their fields. I would rather sleep at home. Wake me up when I can meet Bola Tinubu and have a business chat with him.

Thanks.

You nailed it real good!

Am not a fan of PDP nor GEJ but you people has been brainwashed so much into believing that Nigeria is coming out from an apocalypse. Where is Nigeria coming from, really? In actual fact,we are coming from
1,being the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world to not even making the 1st 15 growing economies in africa!
2,From being an investment destination to sliding into the worse recession since 1991
3,From N202 to a dollar to N360-N400 to a dollar(first in the history of the naira)
4,From an electricity tarriff of N12.30 to N21.40 per unit of consumption
5,From N87/litre of fuel to N145/litre(first in the history of fuel pricing, despite the fall in the price of crude)
6,From a maximum of 1week fuel scarcity to an unprecedented 4months uninterrupted fuel scarcity(first in history)
7,From around 5,000megawatts to 0megawatts in electricity power generation(first in history)
8,Even tomato is now 4 for N1000(first in the history of tomato since creation)

The list is endless.
And you are here referring to 'where we are coming from?'
Son,you need to go wash your brain off zombeism and go learn the act of thinking objectively for yourself.

Now,to educate you a bit on the art and science of management. When a new manager takes over the saddle of leadership, the predecessor's 'poor achievements' automatically becomes his benchmark. His work from day one is to grow all the indices left behind by the former. Eg,if GEJ was hovering around 5000 megawatts, its expected that Buhari starts to build from there to 6000 to 7000 megawatts upwards, but instead it went down to 0.
Son,you don't grow like that. I wish you and many others to remove the cloak of tribalism, nepotism and look at issues from a more objective manner and you will realize that this govt has scored less than 8% as a govt. And since govt is assessed bases on a 4year cumulative result,he needs to perform exceptionally well in the next 3years to wipe off the poor ratings of the first quarter because this poor outing of year1 will still add to his cumulative scorecard. I hope you understand cos I've done my best to make it as elementary as I can

It gladdens my heart when I read an enlightened and unbiased opinion like the above. The elders say that when you point a finger, four other fingers point back at you. APC change your "chanji".

I won't be surprised if someone like you have not published a single book worth reading because it's quite obvious from your comment that you don't know how mentally tasking creating fictional stories can be.

Misquote, take this break and plot a solid progression in your plots and a befitting climax.

Kudos on your effort so far.

Happy Sunday Misquote.

It would be nice for us to see an update of your fictional story. I in particular am quite eager to know how she was able to scale through giving birth to her baby daughter and getting an accommodation, while still holding on to her "hussle".

Did she eventually find someone who turned her blood from black to blue? Or did the story tapper into a tragic climax?

We anxiously await the rudder of your imagination to steer us through this unanswered suspense.

Thanks!

As someone who strongly backed change.......I must say I am feeling very short-changed at the moment..... cheesy.....How can you claim to want to be President of Nigeria and then claim you are only able to work with people from your section of the country.....All his campaign promises are being backtracked on and no new policies have been tendered or are being suggested.....All we have heard is to fight corruption even that one.....we never see nada..... cheesy

It's refreshing to see people with genuine sense of direction voice out their opinions. What the average Nigerian need is a progressive change, rather than this one-sided vindictive propaganda we're currently facing.

Our persistent push towards a progressive state would eventually shoo out all elements of bigotry and backwardness currently plaguing us.

My two cents...
Politics / How The "Kitchen Cabinet" Started by doncharleyosumo(m): 2:05pm On Jan 21, 2016
Lt. Col. Gowon cultivated a secret body of advisers who shuttled from Kaduna to Lagos and the Middle belt, consulting with traditional leaders, opinion moulders in commerce and academia. This was in March 1967. The group, known as the Kitchen Cabinet, worked quietly without public attention, mobilising support for the government, firmly manoeuvring to thwart Ojukwu's secessionist bid. Of course, Ojukwu's direction was obvious to everyone. But when it would come and how, no one was sure. The mission of the group then was that if war was unavoidable, its magnitude could still be tamed.

In May 1967, for three weeks, the Kitchen Cabinet which comprised ten young men, mostly in their early thirties, met informally at No. 17 Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi to sift through the various submissions they had received on how to keep the nation together. The meeting-place was the residence of Alhaji Shehu Musa, who was a junior aide in the Ministry of Finance. The relative obscurity of his official position must have informed the choice of his house as a strategic cover from intrusive attention. Musa's residence, situated in the charming* exclusivity of Lugard Avenue with its luxuriant palm trees and scented orchards, was a one-storey colonial structure with sloping conical roof, low iron fence and with generous spacious garden where the young men met daily, conscious of the weight of the national burden, unrushed, sobered enough to seek a conciliatory middle-ground of arresting the dark portents.

It was Alhaji Shehu Bakari, a taciturn geographer who steered the discussion of the group. Bakari who hailed from North Eastern State (now Adamawa State) was then a Director at the Ministry of Education. He was a man of unobtrusive intelligence. A graduate of the University of Ibadan, he had a grave and dignifying demeanour. He was well-respected both in the civil service and in the larger political arena. With able guidance, he nurtured the consensus of the Kitchen Cabinet, skillfully articulated the discernible national yearnings.
The result of this was the recommendation to the Supreme Military Council to create twelve states from the four regions. It was on the rectangular ebony hue table in the high dome dining room at the Lugard Avenue residence that the first sketch of the new states was drawn.

On May 27 when Lt. Colonel Gowon officially announced the creation of the twelve states, Lagos State finally emerged as a full, independent entity, beholding to no one, save its indigenes. For long treated as an orphan, its resources appropriated by foreign sovereigns, its people tossed about since 1861 cession like infants needing protective guidance, Lagos was now finally liberated from the clutches of its alien shepherds, eager to fashion its own destiny, enthusiastic about grappling with the challenges of its own developments, its own growth, raring to prove the world wrong!
