lordally:Glad to know that bro. I'd try and keep the thread alive. Thanks. |
Rany4all:Do K! Thanks for the comment bruv... Na man you be ![]() |
ebenson90:I appreciate the comment sir. She's such a picky eater so I had to be creative with her feeding most times. Anyway I feed Booster dry food, beef liver, eggs, pap & milk, fish, chicken, sardines, and then bone broth (for treat). Rice sometimes mixed with liver, but she isn't a fan of rice like that just yet. |
Ebiz29:Of course, sure! 07063296273 |
Ebiz29:Well...that female you've got right there is from a good lineage hope you know, so expect all the qualities of a Gsd. Therefore proper training and socialization is advised. By the way, you're welcome man |
It seems Arya's familiarizing days are over so I relocated her to the backyard. She doesn't seem to like that very much, she likes chilling out at the frontage with me. We'll soon get back to town anyway, I know she can't wait to be in her crib.
|
Dorwadora:You're welcome my dear, glad I could help. I know you'd be tempted to spank her anytime she pees or poos inside, I've been there, but trust me that's not the best way to get her to act right, heed not to such idea/suggestion. Besides she's still very much younger a puppy you know, c'mon now... Anytime she mistakenly pees or poos inside just loudly and sternly say NO! (Not necessarily shouting per se) Then carry her outside to where you intended her to do it instead. However believe me, if you pay close attention to her you'd know once she's pressed and wants to relieve herself. And also if you'd keep to the schedule regarding her potty break like I suggested to you earlier, you'll not have such accidents (although not completely eliminated b'cos she's still very much younger). My girl whines or sniffs around restlessly anytime she's pressed and she can't go outside to do it. She even barks out at me if I'm not paying attention, however she's much older than yours. Even though mine is older than your pup accidents do happen still (pee anyway, but never poo). Reason I asked you to give yours some time, she's doing great already. Keep it up, e no easy with puppies honestly. They're like whinny little babies.. Lol |
Completely knocked off ![]()

Arya seeing a movie (Harry Potter And the Goblet of Fire) with me ![]()

Dorwadora:C'mon give that lil pup a break! She's still very much young you know, just a month, that's like a 5 month old human baby. What do you expect from a 5 month old human baby if I may ask? Would she answer to her name or even hear you call? Cats on the other hand are quite something else with taking care of themselves. You see how they clean up themselves and all that? They're intriguing. However, dogs are very smart, you remember that. And if you've owned breeds like Gsd, doberman etc you'd marvel at the level of intelligence. Just give your dog time. For her to even hold her urine & poo instinctively for that long at her age is a huge plus; pretty well behaved that one, watch out for her. Begin her potty training, she's already made it even easier for you. If you've been paying keen attention you must've timed how long she could hold on to the urine, get a dog collar and leash, once it's time put her on leash and take her to where you want her to be doing her business. Stay there with her as you guys walk around, she'd be sniffing the place, give her some time. Once she can't hold it any longer she'd grab the clue what is required of her and she'd do her business there. And again, the reason she's jumping inside your room to pee and poo is b'cos the veranda is already her crib, and dogs don't poo or pee where they sleep except they had no choice; Yes! They're that smart if you don't know. So she sees your room as going outside... You grab? So you have to find a way to change that. It's either you let her sleep with you inside then take her out at the veranda from time to time for potty break, or you divide that veranda into two (if it's spacious anyway).. Arrange one part to be her room (you can put blankets, wrapper or something to lie on), and then leave the other part of the veranda as a place of business (potty place). Come back here and inform me how it went. And remember to take her for potty break within 10 - 15mins after each meal. Then in the night during sleep, work out the time intervals according to your observation like I pointed out earlier. By the way your dog is cute. Keep tendering that care and love and you'd have yourself a great pup once you've been able to establish that bond. Dogs are little fascinating gods among us ![]() |
Ebiz29:I'd suggest you familiarize her well enough this early or she'd be weary of people when she grows up. Imagine you walking your dog and you wanna show her off to friends and she panics and starts barking or becomes aggressive. It's good she gets to know your immediate family but If she grows up with that believe me she'd be aggressive towards people, be it strangers or friends; Not act of guarding but out of fear. You wouldn't want that kind of messy or embarrassing situation. I take Arya for a walk sometimes, having completed her vaccination dose, and once she sees certain gathering of people she'd panic and stops walking, and I'll be urging her to c'mon and walk with me. And once she sees little children coming close to admire her she'd bark at them and would wanna bouce on them in attack. But I know with frequent walking and socializing she'd learn to guard properly as she grows, she'd be able to differentiate between harmless admirers and strangers. Arya is a very picky eater too. The booster for all life stages that I bought for her for 30k she doesn't even eat that very much. But I've learnt to be creative with feeding her anyway. So she eats the booster these days unlike before. In addition, kindly note that Gsd isn't a kind of dog you can just confine in a cage frequently for a long while otherwise they'll become bored and destructive. They'll just waste away. They're energetic type of breed, not a lazy type like boerboel. So they'd need to burn out all that energy. Good luck bruv |
Ebiz29:Good to know man I appreciate.Would love to see Ivy's pictures too as she progresses, if you don't mind tho. Suggestion, Just make sure to exercise Ivy so well in order to burn off all that energy, she'd be tired out and she'd get off your skin for a while. ![]() But moderation tho, she's still a kid you know ![]() |
Arya is becoming very much aware of her environment. The GSD baser instincts are kicking in fully now. I recall some people were telling me some time ago that the way I have her familiarizing with people will in turn make her not to be good guard dog as she'll now be friendly with everyone, that I supposed to lock her up in a cage away from people to make her aggressive and better guard dog; and I laughed ![]() It's either they don't know the breed Gsd, or they underestimated my girl ... Told them the only reason I'm familiarizing her this early is for their sake.Well, some of those people came around these past few days and Arya showed them a little of the stuff she's made of. And one of them cried.. "Aaah! I thought she was all peaceful before o". "Dey there dey mis-yarn na, make she kuku bite craze comot for your body", I whispered to myself, lol! Anytime there's a knock on the gate she responds, and if we don't wanna answer that knock, nobody go tell you make you kukuma carry yourself comot. GSD will always be Gsd folks, it's in their nature (once you get unadulterated bloodline sha). People dey fear her now wey she small, what would then happen when she come big?

Ebiz29:Na you come buy Arya's sister las las huh.. You're blessed bro Believe!Hello from here |
Abi o... I talk am! And someone was there telling me she resemble her mom. I tell am say na lie o..na for play, play she resemble her mama ![]() Rany4all: |
Arya received her 3rd shot of vaccine over the weekend. She has completed her dosage of vaccine normally, however she'll receive a Booster shot @5 months. She had her bath finally afterwards, how she likes water ehn So I filled the basin with water (not to the brim anyway so she doesn't drown) and I carried her inside... She was just wriggling pleasurably and playing "dead" in there.. Lol Of course I bathed her for the first time, all the while I've just been cleaning her up with towel soaked in warm water. Rubbed the coconut oil that I made myself all over her, and combed through, you need to see how her coat was shining afterwards eeh ... (Although shea butter was the first thing I used to bring out the beauty of her coat before I made the coconut oil )In the images attached she was just chilling while nibbling at the delicious bone marrow I used in preparing bone broth for her.

Eveezy:I know right Thanks for the compliment tho |
Due to certain technical error I wasn't able to access Nairaland for some days and so couldn't update the thread. I don't know whether there's any other person that experienced this same issue as well. So Arya barked for the first time in my presence few days ago oh..omo! Almost got me startled. Didn't expect her to have that kind of bold & loud voice, at least for her age. Someone told me that Arya is one of a kind kind of dog... That there's nothing soothing like having a pup that barks only when necessary, instead of those incessant, noisy, annoying and unnecessary barking. That I should enjoy it while it lasts. Well let's see how she turns out when she's older ![]() Doncolidon: |

mercy348:Thanks a lot dear How's Ambel doing? How old is she now? |
Rany4all:Yes oh I have finally ![]() |
All thanks to @Rany4all for this sweet girl. Finally welcomed her home 2 days ago. She's so meek and peaceful too much for my liking oh You may even mistake her for a cat. She's 3 months and hasn't even started barking yet.In all she's intelligent in a quite intriguing and funny way. I'd keep the thread updated if I see some interest from you guys. Rate her guys. ![]()

Free delivery huh.. Nice one man! Solid & well-fed puppies you've got there ![]() Rany4all: |
Hello Doc. How about 10 to 11wks old Gsd, is it okay to leave her all by herself for few hours while away at work? Thanks. seunH: |
But you missed the point man, both of you are of two different submissions. Posting the price helps, so that anyone coming your inbox will be to finalize the deal straight up rather than chatting you up just to ask about the price... filters the whole thing out for you, easy peasy. However, you're entitled to your opinion or what you think works for you. Wisdomlaw1: |
Yea, clearly the guy goofed by such conclusion.. Rany4all:...And also coming from someone who's just owning a dog for the first time makes it quite laughable. |
vawulence! Easy bruvRany4all: |
