I don't think there is any need to argue on this. The basis for the difference in B.Sc and HND lies in the design of both programmes. HND was designed to cater for particular technical niche in areas of practical applications of knowledge while the B.Sc degree was designed to explore theorems. A polytechnic graduate is usually taught and is made conversant with how things operate rather than why the are designed to operate so. In the scheme of design of the HND programme by the OBJ led Govt, a university graduate is meant to oversee the work of a polytechnic graduate. Yes universities were also designed to have the least tutor be a Doctor and as such university graduates are exposed to the same lecturers that polytechnic lecturers come to learn under. It's that same reason why you see that in most polytechnics in Nigeria, the highest degree is a Doctor and these are often few while a single Dept in a university can sometimes boast of 10 professors and hoards of Doctors. This therefore means that polytechnic lecturers and university graduates often drink from the same fountain of knowledge. All this being said, anyone can become whatever you want, I believe that all you need is more belief in yourself, coming from a polytechnic should never let you put yourself down anywhere. Peace!!! |
Thankx once again! I do appreciate your help. Before I bought the Oando oil, I checked to know that toyota uses I-IV but could not find it around. It was because of that, that I decided to the Oando since it was the best around. The one I saw in the type of can u just described is the seahorse type of gear oil which still is not I-IV. So I would appreciate if you can get me the exact market name for the toyota type since all my search is turning up dextrose type II and III mostly. I still await my ecm and will keep you posted once I get it. I will seriously appreciate the market name for the toyota gear oil. |
Thanks for your response. I have parked the car right now, pending when I can get the right ECM. After changing the gearbox, we put Oando transmission oil in it before we observed the jerking issue. using the cars vin, i was able to check on toyotapartzone and 2 other websites that the correct ECM for the car is either 89661-42B80 or 89661-42B01. using internet images and other internet sources to check, i was able to confirm that 42B80 should do the job. I am searching for the 42B80 right now but have not seen in Naija. I am hoping to have someone buy it from the US so that I can put it in the car and hope the ECM problem goes away forever. so is there need for me to change the transmission fluid from the Oando one that the car currently uses? I hope people can learn from me, especially those of us that are buying cars that have gone thru the hands of naija mechanics that believe any part can work in a car so far as it matches. |
Thanks for your post. I have changed the gear box for the car and now the car behaves exactly like the 2001-2003 ecm problem earlier discussed. It sort of ceases power between gears 2 and 3, then thereafter jumps into the 3rd gear. I went to the market in Benin and they did not have the ecm type I found in the car. The ecm I found in the car is 89661-42A91. So I am ordering the same number from Lagos and hoping it solves the problem once and for all. What I probably need from you now is for you to confirm if changing the same ecm type will solve the problem or if I need to get another type of ecm (if so I will appreciate the ecm number that will be compartible with mine above. Thanks for the great job you are doing on this forum. |
Sorry I have not been around to provide the VIN for the 2005 Rav 4 I enquired about. The cars VIN is JTEGD20VX56002042. Also the car is a Rav 4S. I will like to find out if I will require a different kind of gearbox from the normal ones for the Rav 4L or Rav 4J. Expecting to hear from you soonest and thanks for your immense help so far. |
I recently acquired a 2005 rav 4 in benin city that has gear shifting issues. The owner advised that I change the gearbox τ̅☺ resolve the issue. The mechanic on the other hand told me that the gear box was previously changed and the issue still persisted. My question is this; is it possible for this ecm issue to be present in a 2005 rav 4? How am I to know that if I buy a new gearbox, this issue will not just re-occur. You can contact me using my email idoksq@yahoo.com all help will be appreciated. Ʊ also stated that you have a place in benin, how can I reach you in Benin City |
a simple question should solve ur friends dilema. let him ask himself what if he dies today? will all members of his family die or life will continue for them. in this day and age, he should realise that even if he puts aside 10 years from today he will have just began scrating the surface of their needs. learn today that they will be ur cross for a long time and as such you will have to carry them along while fulfilling your own desires and needs. get married and have a life. there is joy in seeing ur kids settled before one dies, not starting a family very late in life. a word the say is enough for the wise |

redsun: We africans could be very unrealistic in our beliefs sometimes, god this, spirit that, all this beliefs are as a result of our inability to our understand our enviroment and nature in general practically and if we don't understand our enviroment,we can't control it, that is why we find it difficult to make head way as a people. We have to understand the meaning of life, what makes us breath, what makes us stand firm on the ground, then we will be able to work things out and know our purposes as humans.Myths is diffrent from reality,so far the only creatures in the sea that come close to looking like hollywood depictions of mermaid are whale species. We should introduce marine and oceanographic faculties in our universities so that we can study and explore the oceans of the world, instead of speculating.LIFE IS REAL.[color=#006600] So what happens to the Greek that have all the gods in the world? does it also mean they are stupid? please Nigerians are what they are for alot of other reason than the God or gods we serve |

Please, I do perfectly understand that even with an open process, a lot of people will still have doubts about NNPC employment process; this does not mean there is no credibility in the process. I know a lot of people who are currently in NNPC employment that did not know a single soul before they got in there. My advise is; if anyone needs a job, kindly apply, prepare well and keep your faith on getting the job. All the best!!! |
[b]Dont know about other cars though, the highest I have made on wheels is 240km/hr on Warri-Benin Expressway with my Audi A4 (quattro), 1.8 turbo engine. |

To be candid, I thought Baba Suwe was innocent till I watched UK border force on zone reality where a man lived on soda for 43 days after the same machine detected drugs in his stomach. I was shocked cos the man excreted his after so long after smelling fried chicken, now I know if he had been kept longer he would have excreted all the drugs he had in his body. Baba Suwe only got away because this Naija and he is a celebrity |
