I said it earlier that this is the EPL where anything can always happen and those empty barrels were just chestbeating and making the loudest noise. Our destiny is now purely in our hands. Our players now need to show the resilience and mentality needed for a big club and play for the fucking_ badge. We need to take the last 3 games as finals. It's good that we have a longer rest period than man-u before the semi final on the weekend. Hopefully we get to the finals and also qualify for UCL. My joy is unbridled tonight, Chelsea must not fuck_ this up. #focus. |
Afrodoc, you na you.. This egungu you dey like to shake, one day monkey go go market, e no go return. ![]() |
CapitalCee:You can never be too sure in football. Any of those teams could score you first and that would be the end. More so you are playing small teams that seem to be in form; Southampton, westham before Leicester. These are not totally smooth rides as you may think. |
All these permutations won't be necessary if united losses any of their own match. |
Weirdos. ![]() |
Emaprince:nice one |
sylvalord:Una turn go soon reach, don't worry. You go dey feel like say una go easily defeat us for FA Cup, forgetting that this Chelsea performs best when underrated. No p. Na next week. |
Roland17:Gerrahia!! ![]() No be like say your club arsenal get any hope. You dey there dey form trolling. |
TalabiAudu:Indeed. I remember how i always urged everyone here to lower their expectations when the players were giving Lampard their honeymoon performances. I'm criticized here because of my unpopular opinions and because i don't join the bandwagon. It's clear now that Lampard has become a victim of his over achievement. Before the season started, we knew that this was going to be a learning curve for both the manager and his players. We knew that even qualifying for champions league would be a very tough ask with the myriad of challenges we had then. Many people began to change their low expectations after the players flew out the blocks with honeymoon performances. I constantly advocated for tampered expectations but people would deride my opinions. It's funny now seeing people calling for lampards head because they refused to realign their expectations. The club promised Lampard time to build his squad, I hope they fulfill that promise this time around irrespective of how the season ends. Even if we don't qualify for the champions league, we must stand by Lampard. We knew what we wanted by signing him despite his inexperience. Guardiola went trophyless in his first season at mancity. Kloop also didn't qualify for the champions league in his first season and went trophyless for 3. But now both teams have become super powers in world football. Again, We have to stick to a manager for the long term.. No matter what happens, Lampard must remain. |
![]() I am yet to understand your fascination with snakes sha. Anyways, you are doing a great job on this forum. ![]() |
TheSourcerer:Why do you always look for followers? Just asking. |
nitrogen:I don go like and share am for you. |
Expert17:I know. It's normal for people to easily apportion blame unnecessarily, especially when defeated like this. I make good judgements because I am not easily swayed by emotion or sentiment. I give credit to Sheffield who were extremely good and organized as a team. Their organization stifled our attackers and our poor defensive organization coupled with our inherently bad keeper gave them a good result. This is my perspective. |
Expert17:WTF ![]() shebi you know say you be mumu. ![]() |
babytoun: RTSC:Typical short-terminisim we are known for. It's too early to begin to blame Lampard. No manager will succeed with the current crop of defenders we have. |
Ibime:Then what of all the goals we have been conceding in his absence? You are making him an unnecessary scape goat today rather than the shambolic defenders or the blunt attack. |
Ibime:Oboi, i don tire. All I know is that we need goalkeeping and defensive reinforcements. Bye |
When last we score corner abeg? ![]() |
Ibime:And jorginho is responsible for the goals ![]() Common, you have to see that you just trying to throwall types of blames on him, seeing which one will stick. His primary job is not to defend or to score. It is to recycle and maintain possession and he is doing that very well. It can even be argued that he is our best player on the pitch in this game. |
Ibime:Ohh, come on overrun on the counter. Need I remind you that this is th first game, jorginho is starting since the restart. Our midfield has been constantly overrun in all of them, we have been conceding bucket load of goals since, at least we are controlling the midfield today. Not every team will be as organized as this inform Sheffield. |
Ibime:You are looking at him from a prejudiced lens. We have dominated possession which is his primary role as a DM. The onus is on the 5 attackers ahead of him to score the goals. At least we are not being overrun in the midfield like we have been previously. |
Lampard brings in Rudiger. Without him we conceded 4 goals. I've always said that Rudiger is better than all our current defenders. We need a new world class center back to complement him or at least maintain a stable partnership with one of them. |
nateevs:It's no rocket science knowing that Giroud has a better hold up play than Abraham. His recent performances has shown that he links up better with pulisic and willian. |
DExponential:My friend, Sheffield have had very few attacking chances and have been highly clinical with them inspite of us controlling the ball. In another match, we would have been subjected to constant pressure in our own half by the opponent. Go figure which you prefer. Sheffield have been extremely organized while our defense isn't. |
nateevs:Football has two sides; attack and defense. While our defense is whack, it can also be argued that Abraham is blunting the attacks or not linking up well with pulisic and willian the way Giroud has been doing. |
We need to score a goal this half if we have any hope of rescuing something from this game. I think Giroud should have started this game. His form and his disturbing presence in the box would have given us a better chance of breaking this defense down. |
Kepa cant make any save! Any shot on target na confirm goal. |
This defense |
hensben:Stop talking rubbish. He has been good so far. We are maintaining possession and our distribution is too notch. The front three need to make better movements in the final third. |
Our defense has really been our undoing this season. |
Why all these wayward crossings? |
I feel so uncomfortable seeing Kepa in our post. He can't even touch the ball when he rushes out of his post. |
