As an electrical engineer at smc, your role will be strictly plant maintenance that has to do with electrical part of machines. Transformers, electrical installations, electrical repairs involving welding machines, overhead cranes, electric motors etc or maybe phase 2 is ready...my one cent, you should have experience in this role and be very confident regardless of who will interview you(India(Mr Vandam Vandam(lol) or Lebanese or Ukrainian or Mr Ojo or so). please dont ask me plenty questions,i have worked there before. |

eremy: Please advise the house. Share your experiences with us. Sorry I am posting this very late.About Smc,it is owned by Lebanese(so don't expect good pay to start with). Be ready to work 7am till 7pm(you will actually wake up by 5am to be sure you meet up with the bus). Saturdays and Sundays are working days(so wave goodbye to weekends) and when billet finishes you will be told to stay at home until it comes, definitely no pay. Lots more to be said(but it's upto you to decide). |

djblue007: Anyway that might be a better option but we can't rule out the use of npk as well. Mind u, it was only my suggestion. The ogas at the top might have better and more efficient options. Thanks! i hope we can work 2geda On the upcoming project.thanks for your time. |
Politics › Re: Amina Mohammed Visits Oil Spill Site In Rivers - Photos by donmatin(m): 8:33am On Mar 15, 2016 |
djblue007: Why not? Bioremediation will simply make use of either naturally occurring or deliberately introduced microbes to eat up the oil in the polluted water or land without causing any deleterous effect. The nitrate or sulphate salts will only cause the bacteria to multiply about 5x their original pop. density. i did my final project On crude oil spill remediation using npk and water Hyacinth, comparative study.so when I say npk isn't the best option 4 polluted lands around coastal areas,i knw what I am talking about.read up eutrophication and bod caused by run off water from npk remediated sites.npk is faster bt nt environmentally friendly. |
Politics › Re: Amina Mohammed Visits Oil Spill Site In Rivers - Photos by donmatin(m): 8:09am On Mar 15, 2016 |
djblue007: Nice move but necessary actions should be effected as quickly as possible as to contain the contaminant. As an EHO in training I'm suggesting bioremediation catalysed by sulphate or nitrate fertilizers. you didn't put into consideration rivers and streams around,eutrophication...processed water Hyacinth will do a better job. |

Good afternoon, how are you?please can i get nebosh materials from you? Thanks zeongeon: You can determine training by how competent and qualified some is.
Now who is a competent person : a competent person is one who knows well enough to get the job done properly. He has the capacity to identify existing hazards and predicting hazards in the work area that is dangerous to work men and he has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them.
Qualified person: is someone who by possession of a recognized degree, certificate or professional standing or who by training, extensive knowledge and experience has successfully demonstrated that he has the ability to resolve or solve problems relating to work.
From the above definitions you can determine training by some ones qualifications and his ability to get work done for example in hse, his ability to identify hazards, manage risk and all this is as a result of being trained.
You can also determine training by monitoring, supervising and measuring performance.
Note: its possible for one to be qualified but not competent hence how competent one is determines how trained or how effective the training one has undergone is. |

I'm not in ph. IHate9ja1: I knew you under went a training @ HHI,but the supposed crew am talking about......"The six vessels were built at a cost of $1.6 billion in South Korea. Two of the ships are being built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) while the other four are being built at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI). " "Some Nigerians were also taken to Korea for training on shipbuilding and management as well as other marine activities. Some indirect jobs are still being created as the NLNG in line with the Nigerian Content programme, insisted on use of some made in Nigeria products such as paints, furniture and cables leading to export of these materials to Korea. Some of the beneficiary companies include Berger Paints. With increase in production resulting from export of these made in Nigeria materials, the beneficiary companies will employ more hands to meet rising demand, the NLNG said. At least, over 400 jobs will be created by the time NLNG takes full delivery of the six vessels, the source said." But you are in pH naw?

Its nice to know you are updated,my advice is submit with faith n pray.i was part of d trainees 4 d just constructed vessels that came in. IHate9ja1: Thanks you boss for coming on board! I would need your input based on your experience,6 newly built nlng vessels has arrived 9ja and the construction of additional trains is imminent. Now the NLNG newly built vessel would create @least 300 jobs,50 crew per vessel, while the upcoming construction of the new trains is expected to provide between 16000 to 18000 jobs. Am planning to visit bonny again to update my profile, all things being equal by Gods grace I should have concluded my level 3 training @ ispon, today I have also contracted the service of Jarus to review and update my Cv and cover letter which is under processing. I would need your advice on what and what to put in place or do,a guy said you haven't even gotten me a security guard job I think this is your best avenue to prove him wrong? Lol Am not selfish neither are you boss,am posting this here coz of my equal love for humanity and to be of help to others, who knows where we would meet years to come. What do you think and this time I think I will board the nlng boat,I need directions on how to go about that? |

See you, you wey don beg for work taya and the dude dey use you dey play ten-ten, till today not even a security guard position has been considered you into. Dey dia dey deceive urself say u dey do boi boi to one iddiot who cant even help himself let alone helping another person.[/quote] |

This is my experience, might help someone.I graduated with 2:2 and the chances of securing a job in nigeria where 2:1 is the ish was slim. Then prayers was made on my behalf and also by myself, then an opportunity opened with almost 4000applicants writing an exam that requires 180people only.i wasnt the smartest but divine favour placed me among the 180people.I got an invitation for a job and tot i was so prepared,i was banking on my experience and strength, guess what?it failed me.i cudnt deliver but then i whispered a prayer as i was leaving the company,45mins later i was called back and offered another role as a trainee which i never had experience in.God is alive and he works, many live their lives in reckless abandon hoping that God will just intervene,it doesnt work that way.when you fall sick you turn to a doctor so it is with God,he doesnt force himself on you.you have to decide then he will take charge. |
