God1000: This is so racist and it's just too obvious considering the brutality with which the Trump administration is treating refugees from other countries that are already in the US
I hope Cyril Ramaphosa strips these freeloaders of their citizenship and ban them from coming back to south Africa Are they illegal immigrants to South Africa? |

A cardinal appeared on the balcony in St Peter’s Square to announce that American Robert Prevost, who will be known as Pope Leo XIV, had been chosen by the votes of the Conclave to be the next pontiff.
Shortly after, the new pope appeared on the balcony to cheers from the crowds filling St Peter's Square.
The 69-year-old Chicago-born pontiff delivered his first speech, bringing a "greeting of peace" and God's love to the faithful below him.
He paid tribute to his predecessor, and even spoke briefly in Spanish to thank his former diocese.
“Help us, and help each other, build bridges,” he told the crowd of more than 40,000 people in St Peter’s Square. |

Who is fooling who? Who is doing the right thing? Who is to be blamed?
In my opinion, if you like, let your child or my child fail, JAMB won't lower the standard to satisfy our excuses o.

immortalcrown: Before the introduction of evening lessons and holiday (summer) lessons, Nigerian people used standard six to excel locally and internationally.
The more the ill culture of those "lessons" dominate the country, the higher the rate of exam failure in the country.
They start the lessons from kindergarten level and continue till SS3. Yet, they can't pass any serious exam without malpractice. What then is the academic benefit of the lessons? I think that the only benefit of such lessons is that they keep children away from home, giving parents time for work and businesses.
I had school set mates that started such lessons from SS1 and continued till SS3. They were the ones that ran to questionable centers for WAEC and NECO.
Another factor is private schools. A Nigerian public school that has dilapidated buildings is better than many Nigerian private schools. But people think that every private school in Nigeria is credible. JAMB should begin to announce the number of candidates that come from public schools. The announcement will reveal what many people don't know.
Yet, they are busy shifting the blame to smart gadgets and social media. May you live long, sir/ma |

sprints1: I am a teacher let me share my opinion on this matter 1. The educatuonal system is a fallacy: our system of passing meaningful instructions to kids need to change. Time has changed so education needs to change as well. The insistence on rote learning and constant memorization has disrupt children's learning pattern. I did a seminar on this a long time ago. I emphasized on the need to focus on child - centered learning rather than teachers giving instructions on a platter. This is 21st century, the emergence of AI has affected children' development and teachers should as well stop incorporating many of it into learning.
2. Lack of critical thinking skills and millennial parenting: Millenials are the worst set of parents followed by the current Gen Z. These parents value money more than their wards. They leave everything to the their children class or lesson teachers. These children are lazy, can't think and have zero emotional intelligence. They don't understand the importnace of core values and show no discipline. These children spend half a day on useless programs such as freefire CODs, Blood strike and Tiktok challenge. Parents have destroyed the lives of these children exposing these kids to Cartoons and anime at early stage of development... Parents instead of looking for regular ways to nuture a child they will give a child of a year plus phone to be watching cartoons on YouTube. These things damaging effect on children... The sensorimotor stage of a child should be properly assessed. Engage these children in masonry toys, fixing puzzles building patterns, molding and identifying objects but no these parents prefer to buy a tablet filled with rubbish cartoons affecting the chromosome 6 and 8 of a child...
Children diet: The food these children eat are not good enough they are laced with lead and other supplements which calcify the pineal gland causing inbalance in the endocrine system. The fluoride in toothpaste and water are just too much for a child, you can all research on that. These destroys the ability of child to think well.
Education is still very important in life but must be restructured. We have failed as a generation to help these children. A survey currently shows 1 out of 10 children has ADHD which causes the child to restive more than they should be. The syndrome of parents trying to place children in classes they shouldn't be is also affecting them. JAMB should be scrapped it has lost its relevance. I regret to say you seem to lack direction in your blame game whereby all agents involved are faulty. You can't have an ideal state to pass exam. The level of development of the nation is not far from what is available for learning yet. I was hoping you would point at the education governing body for not sitting up to justice and transparency in its management We still have children in the developed world that suffer mental derailment. Thus, blaming the failure on diet and chemical reagents in foods is not sufficient to be listened to in a third world. I would advise you suggest achievable approaches within our affordability. I can assure you, these children will pass this exam once their school managers or owners, parents and exam invigilators stand their ground off supporting malpractices. But if you mean to speak outside of this scope of passing JAMB, you are welcome. |
