@ Redmi 6 pro OP, your device is hard bricked and can only be flashed using MIflash too but only after full authorization to do so by LORD XIAOMI.

I recently had my RN5 AI hard bricked after flashing a custom Rom despite following the rules. Thank God I'm outta that ordeal because it was a long and exhausting journey.

To recover your device, first check what arb version your phone is, download the latest fastboot Rom for it too.

Boot into EDL mode by using the test point method. (Lotta videos in YouTube showing how to do that.)

Or try miracle box software with appropriate drivers to force EDL mode via software.

Now the most daunting part...getting authorization to flash your device. Xiaomi recently took a draconian measure to secure their device by tripping an algorithm which bricks your device once you try to install a modified software or version different from that which your device is legally supposed to have. To make matters worse, they implemented a two step authentication process before allowing you restore the device.

There's no way to flash the device using Miflash tool unless your account is authorized to do so. In my case, I contacted Lotta peeps in different forums and @ adamix here too. (Thanks once again @ adamix)

Was lucky to get a dude on telegram who shared his authorized account details which allowed me recover the device.

Good luck getting your device back as you'll need all the luck you can get.

Cheers!

I dont know the way out. My bricked xiaomi redmi 6pro is not back 2 life. Now its no longer displaying the mi logo and the recovery page. It just plain dark screen with the screenlight on. And my system is not recognizing the phone as it isnt indicating qualcomm in device manager of the system as i bridged the testpoints. @acekid109, @lavenderjade @adamix.

If anybody her knows an engineer In comp village lagos that can help me flash the phone back to life. Abeg.
@noobody. @Gptech

Dude, don't even bother taking your Xiaomi phone to Ikeja. Half the folks there have never heard of the brand before and the other half are just high school dropouts with an archaic Pentium laptop and hunger driven audacity.

I remember when i took my hard bricked RN5 to one dude there in Ikeja and explained what happened to it in simple tech terms. Dude had apparently never heard of EDL mode and was hell-bent on cracking open the device as his primary intervention.

I kuku carry my device run for safety. Friendly advice tho, google and google till you find a solution.

Also, check telegram groups too. Lotta tech heads in multiple forums on that platform.

Best wishes sir!

I Finally got off the anti-roll back trap yesterday after almost a month in BREEKland! A kind dude on telegram was benevolent enough to share his authorised MI account to complete the flashing process... grin grin grin

What did i do immediately I was let off the hook? I installed TWRP and flashed MASIK rom with Magisk, Google camera and Dolby atmos which gave me a bootloop. Managed to uninstall the Dolby atmos and my device booted in a flash.

Big shout out to @ Adamix, dude was really really helpful during my wandering trials.

On the plus side, I learned a lotta extra stuff while trying to get myself outta those Xiaomi shackles and i am confident they'll come in handy in the nearest future. For those tinkerers like me, please exercise caution as there is still no unofficial way out of ARB and waiting for Xiaomi to grant your account the needed permission is an exercise in futility.

N.B: If you've managed to get a Dolby atmos zip which doesn't cause bootloops in RN5 Whyred, kindly quote me Asap!

Regards!!

Hello guys, help a brother out here.

I'm trying to resurrect a Hard bricked RN5 AI which just got caught in the anti roll back net arrrrrg!!! I just need an authorized Mi account to complete the flashing process in EDL mode.

Phone has an unlocked bootloader and is completely dead aside the Qualcomm USB driver which shows up on my win 10 device manager.

Never knew one needed to be authorised to resurrect a dead device even in EDL mode

If you got an account authorised to flash a device in EDL mode, kindly help a brother out...

Your fears are quite understandable. However, if you regularly visit this Thread and read the posts it would help you to determine the vendors here that you can take your first trust step with. Frankly our major vendors here are all tried and trusted. This is coming from a satisfied Thread member that also had those initial concerns and took the above suggested steps. Several different transactions and devices ordered and received from them since this and last year and still counting..

Just to lend a voice to this too. I bought my current phone from the US through Specuit cargo and currently have an order worth over 250,000 from Justi4jesus. **People i've never met or know where their offices are** I've also bought something from someone here in this thread. All transactions were paid for up front.

Everyone understands if you don't part with your hard earned cash easily but there are lots of honest hardworking Nigerians in here and out there.

Like seriously. Even I that love tinkering I still don't get the whole buzz about this Google cam craze when the default cam app is already great. [/quote]

Calling the Redmi series camera great by any standard may not be the whole truth or better still be an uninformed statement. Nowadays, even cheap potato phones come with a serviceable camera for casual snaps.

Low light photography is what mainly differentiates a good, great or awesome camera. Google camera takes the good camera in the RN5 or any Redmi series phone and makes it great especially for indoor shots.

If you know, you know!

In other news, for audiophiles, you should try out Dolby Atmos and Viper audio combo especially with any near decent earphone.

Thank me later!

I don't know why people will buy a nice , solid phone and be distributing it in the name of rooting and flashing ROM and reflashing ROMs ups and downs here. I think people romming and twerking heavily should stay away from this thread. May be they should create a thread at least to attract their fellows.
The way I see Xiaomi phones, they are well built and solidly protected. Single laptop crash during flashing can brick your phone. Tweaking and flashing should be only for high techky and developers that Xiaomi themselves are pushing to try something new. If you are not techky, you should stay away from even rooting, which to me don't even make much difference from unrooted phones. Back then, we root before for better performance, which is much easier on mediatek processors with just a click, but phones like Xiaomi and many snapdragons will give you headaches if you don't know how to. That's why they are solidly built with better ROM and ram.
Even my redmi 5 plus came with unlocked bootloader, if not, I will leave it as it is. All applications I needed are there or can be downloaded somewhere. Stay away from tweaking and flashing if you are not techky, I repeat. No body will save you here , may be noobody and his gangs by selling you new phones entirely. Enough said.

Dude! My mind was once murky with doubt and skeptism about android rooting in general. I could have reeled out same sermon as you have done or perhaps even lengthier ones self. That was b4 i saw with my eyes the stupendous difference Gcam and Dolby audio makes to a budget android device.

It's a travesty every android device doesn't ship with google camera.

True phone modding requires root access. Just like G-cam transforms your phone camera, Viper and Dolby Atmos do same to the audio.

Just check xda-developers.com and search for Dolby atmos. smiley

I think muiu 10 phone update series has the feature. Just download gcam that works with it.

This feature works on any Snapdragon device... just download, install and profit.

And yes... you won't believe the difference it makes especially in low light snap shots. This alongside viper audio and Dolby atmos is compulsory in any phone i own.
