#NaijaSingers as obtained a copy of a text message sent out to Nigerian Senators urging them to accompany embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki to his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja today.


Mr. Saraki and the leadership of the Senate have consistently shut down the Senate to enable senators to storm the venue of the CCT tribunal in a show of solidarity. In previous outings, more than 60 senators had showed up with Mr. Saraki at his hearings. Some civil rights activists have accused Mr. Saraki of using Nigerian taxpayers’ time and funds to attend to his personal corruption trial.

Yesterday, Mr. Saraki adjourned the sitting of the Senate until November 10, shortly after releasing the list of newly constituted committees of the Senate.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has restated that Nigerians won’t tolerate military dictatorship from President Muhammadu Buhari since the country runs a constitutional democracy that allows citizens to speak out their minds on national issues without fear of any sort.
Fayose was emphatic that the statement credited to the Special Assistant on Public Communications to the President, Mallam Garba Shehu warning him against speaking on the running of the economy by the federal government was tantamount to dictatorial mentality.

Governor Fayose said it was undemocratic and saddening for the presidency to be warning a Nigerian, who is heading one of the country’s federating units on what to say and what not to say.

This is the baby has been born with two ‘noses’ thanks to an incredibly raregenetic condition.

The tot, named Baby Angelito [little angel] by his parents, was born in Chimbote, in the western Peru.

Paediatrician Jose Castillo said the strange deformity was a very rare disorder called Patau syndrome, which happens once in every 10,000 to 15,000 births.

He said that the baby is stable and keeping down the food he is being given and that his heart and respiratory system are also working fine.


The boy’s parents, mother Lorena Rodriguez Zavaleta, 20, and the father, who has not been named but is aged 25, are constantly at their son’s bedside.
The baby was transferred from his home in Nuevo Chimbote to the Hospital del Nino some 300 miles away in the capital Lima where he will need to undergo an operation to treat his malformation and give him a normal nose.


The hospital’s neonatal care boss Carlos Arrestegui Ramos said: “He doesn’t have difficulty breathing now, but he will need plastic surgery.”

He added that further tests would be needed to determine how else the boy’s mutation had affected his body.

The mayor of the Nuevo Chimbote district in Lima, Valentin Fernandez, has presented the young parents with a gift of nappies, milk and money to cover their stay in the capital whilst their newborn receives treatment.
