US President Donald Trump’s net worth has fallen by half a billion dollars in less than a week after he implemented a sweeping wave of tariffs, according to estimates by Forbes.

Last week, Trump announced a broad range of new tariffs on the imports from dozens of countries to the US, including a 34% levy on Chinese goods. Beijing has vowed to retaliate with a proportional 34% duty of its own, prompting Trump to escalate the blanket tariff on Chinese goods to a total of 104%. Fears about an escalating trade war have shaken global equity markets and wiped some $10 billion from stocks as of Monday, according to Bloomberg.

The net value of Trump’s own assets fell from an estimated $4.7 billion to $4.2 billion in less than a week “as the value of his public stock and private holdings fall in tandem with the broader market,” Forbes wrote on Tuesday.

The outlet offered a detailed evaluation based on the sum of Trump’s publicly traded stock and estimates of the worth of his privately held companies.

The Trump Media and Technology Group, the president’s most valuable asset, depreciated by 8%, wiping roughly $170 million from his stake in the company, Forbes said.

His commercial and residential real estate holdings would have fallen by around $110-142 million, judging by the average fall in the stocks of other major real estate firms after the president’s ‘Liberation Day’ tariff announcement, according to the outlet.

Trump’s golf clubs likely lost some $70 million, due to the possibility of “belt tightening” among members, Forbes said. His hospitality assets could have also declined by some $65 million, while his smaller licensing-and-management business may have shed a further $15 million, it added.

Forbes estimated that Trump could have lost tens of millions more on assets held in cryptocurrency.

Russia is at the forefront of a global rebellion against US hegemony, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Speaking on a visit to Tajikistan on Monday, Lavrov stated that Russia’s diplomatic corps is increasing its global engagement after a period of disarray that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union.

“Over the last couple of years, we have been returning to Africa [and] Latin America. A determination has accumulated never to accept the ‘rules’ that Washington is imposing. Its role is diminishing, slowly but surely. An increasing number of nations are disillusioned with it,” Lavrov insisted.

The US-backed ‘rules-based order’ is prone to inconsistency whenever any nation attempts to determine its own policies, Lavrov said. He added that Russia is “at the very forefront” of resisting Western pressure, despite the US and its “subjugated” allies targeting Moscow with sanctions and attempting to isolate it. In practice, they have failed to separate Russia from the international community, the diplomat argued.

Lavrov said that US foreign policy was aimed at destabilizing certain parts of the world, so that Washington could “fish in the troubled water” under the guise of fighting terrorism and offering security. This is among the ways Washington coerces others into accepting its orders, the Russian foreign minister added.

Lavrov made the comments as he addressed Russian troops stationed at a military base in Dushanbe. The site is one of a handful of military facilities that Moscow operates on foreign soil. The diplomat said that whether dressed in suits or bearing guns, people were serving Russia “each in our own place” as they oppose Western machinations.

Russia conducted airstrikes overnight targeting Ukrainian military airfields, and delivering significant damage to aircraft and facilities, Moscow’s Defense Ministry has said.

The attack, which was carried with the use of “long-range precision-guided air-launched weapons,” achieved its goal, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

“Command posts, a radar installation, Ukrainian aviation equipment, and storage facilities with weapons and ammunition were hit,” the statement read.

In another strike, near the city of Dnepropetrovsk on the Dnepr River, a Ukrainian drone assembly workshop was destroyed, the ministry said.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian air defenses have shot down two UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles, 14 rockets fired from US-made HIMARS and Soviet-era Uragan multiple rocket launchers, as well as two Tochka-U tactical missiles, fired by the Ukrainian forces, according to the statement.

A total of 21 drones have also been intercepted in Russia’s Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, the country’s Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and over the Black Sea, the ministry added
