That's actually the opposite of what has been observed by people across the world over. Children respect those who connect with them on a level close to their more than they do those who stand high and mighty above them in the name of being grownups.

I have had the same exact experience with the kids I am in touch with. They relate and bond with me on a level that they don't share with their own parents. That is what bonding with your kids is meant to produce, isn't it?

2. Oh, please! The reason that Nigerians don't even attempt such feats has to do with herd mentality and lack of innovation. You said you used to draw cartoons so what stopped you from pushing on to writing and maybe even working on cartoon shorts here and there? The average Nigerian would rather go out and do what everyone else is doing to make money than try something entirely different. That is the major reason why there is near no animation industry in Nigeria even though talent dey if you search well.

Based on my experience with kids my nephews and niece as case study.When you do and act like them, they will bond more with you but the respect they are naturally supposed to accord you will start waning. These kids will turn my room into their playground and mess it up simply because they know I won't act tough on them.Even though I love been around kids but I'm learning how to balance things up now.

Cartoon has gone past the stage of what you used to know. There re animated cartoons of different types and genres. And only people that are smart can understand cartoons due to its nature. There's nothing wrong with an adult watching cartoons, there are advanced cartoon.

because he cries alot (He is the Lastborn)
and I always Try to make him stop.

Their mom doesn't watch cartoons with us because it wasn't really part of her growing up. The OP is lucky to have such a wife. She's a child at heart.
