Raise the draft together with a covering letter showing the fee breakdown.

azeezbaba:

Am in the same shoes as yours but I guess you meant to type "Payment of the Application for Permanent Residence Fee" for your spouse instead of Payment for Permanent Residence Fee for my spouse.

I have been asked to pay Application for Permanent Residence Fee for my new baby too. I want to know if I can raise the draft together with the draft for the Payment for Permanent Residence Fee for my me and my spouse or I raise the drafts separately

Firstly, it is not a rule of thumb that an applicant will be asked for updated POF.
Secondly, if at all you are asked, more specifically in your case, you can send copies of invoices/receipt, LPO/agreement if any. Just gather all relevant documents to the supply you did and in my opinion they will suffix - that was simply what I did and it worked.

LadyGuinivere:
Thanks Kollins and Solomon!
I have a question with regards my POF . I had up to 1.9m as at january which I had been saving up. In jan we withdrew 1.7m for a business of supplies my hunny did which we put back again . My question is , will they ask for proof of this business and if yes, what kind is acceptable? Reciepts? Cos the truth is that the money came back in piecemeal for d supplies to another account.

Thx a lot DoubleBam,

Regarding the POF, can you send just a statement that simply mention you have this amount of money xxxx, under this bank xxxx and on the date xxxx? Or you must also send the POF that has list of debit and credit transaction?

Thx

I sent full statement of account showing all debits, credits and end balance for a period of 6 months alongside bank refenrence letter.

May i know what sort of docs you submitted to AVO?
Thanks

Hi skidmarkz, the AVO requested for the following docs:

1) Updated POF
2) Proof of involvement in family business and right to profit from same (this came because I claimed in my initial application that I was involved in running a family business)
3) Police certificates for me and spouse
4) Forms like IMM5669, IMM0008 etc
5) Payment of Right of Residence for me and spouse
6) Payment of Permanent Residence Fee for my new born
7) 4 passport photographs of my new born

I am excited you scaled the hurdle.

For the benefit of everyone, how were you able to provide the documentation requested relating to proof of settlement fund and documentation about your spouse's unregistered business?

I must 1st of all appreciate the fact that I joined this forum and specifically thank Solomonwis, Damkollins and other contributors.
Proof of settlement fund: I printed a 6-month statement of account with several supporting documents including letters to buttress sources of income, invoices issued to customers by my spouse's business/ invoices received by same business from mega stores where my spouse bought goods, agreements of lands/cars sales etc. These all corresponded with some transactions in both my initial application and the updated POF. I also mentioned (in my letter) that my spouse's business had been affected by austerity which drastically reduced income from that quarter but that my real estate business is still much viable.
Proof of "unregistered" business: like solomonwis advised, I included copies of invoices as mentioned before, Local Govt tax receipts etc. I also drafted a letter to address the fact that the business was not registered with the CAC.

I hope this helps

Seems a third approved hospital is in Ikeja now,I've not heard of anybody use it but I want to assume its good for the mere fact that CIC approved it.
I'm confident that Qlife in VI and The children practice in Ikoyi are both fine. The one in VI will charge between 20k and 24k for children depending on their age while adults are charged 28k.The children's practice charges 28K flat for all age group but you can walk to them and do it anytime while you may have to book for appointment with Qlife.
wish you the best.
Cheers.

Thanks a bunch @damkollins.

To say the least, this forum has been extremely resourseful.
I got an MR mail from AVO this afternoon with attached forms for me, spouse and kid - I'm FSW 2014 applicant.
Kindly advice on which of the approved medical centre is better in Lagos especially in terms of cost.
Other relevant advice and suggestions too will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot @damkollins. Your readiness to help is incredible. God will reward you tremendously.

damkollins:

Congrats.
1.Raise a single draft ...either CAD draft or USD draft.
2.You should raise the 1130CAD draft as a whole and include a cover letter that shows breakdown for the three payment.
3.You need to have a domicilliary account ......better still, look for a friend or relative of yours that have to raise the draft on your behalf payable to "Receiver General for Canada".
Cheers

Hi everyone,
AVO asked that I pay for RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE for me and my spouse and APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE for our new born.

Questions:
1) Should the bank draft be raised differently?
2) From the fee guide, I deduced that the right of permanent residence fee is CAN$490/person and Application for permanent residence fee is CAD$150 for a new born. Am I correct?
3) I do not have a domiciliary account, how can I get a bank draft raised in foreign currency?

I will anticipate your kind reply.
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by DoubleBam2X: 9:26am On Feb 15, 2015
Thanks a lot @solomonwis. I will endeavour to provide all evidences as you rightly suggested.
You have been of tremendous help on this forum. God bless you bro.

solomonwis:

It's a difficult scenario here. It will be difficult proving the source of your fund from an "unregistered" business that is lucrative enough to provide you the much that you need as proof of settlement fund.

Whatever anybody gives you here will end up as a 50:50 chance.

Please draft a letter explaining that the business that your spouse run is not registered but you have provided pictures (This in itself is not a strong basis because you might have taken the pictures anywhere anyways),you must also provide tax receipts, tax documents showing that this business exist or the individual's name with which tax is paid on the business( This might be another difficult point as question will arise as to what business name you registered with the govt. for tax purpose). At some point, the business must have purchased the "building materials" from a company, please provide invoices detailing the purchases by this company as well as receipts showing how payments are made for the goods purchased - This must have some form of correlation with withdrawals in your bank account. You also need to provide copies of sales invoices together with copies of stamped deposit slips corresponding to the lodgment in your bank account.

In your letter, please indicate the profit sharing formula {If any}.

Remember that this fund cannot be borrowed and you must prove that this fund is available to you and must be unencumbered by any debt or lien.

Like I mentioned earlier,it is always suspicious when proceeds from "unregistered business" is presented and there are no proper accounting records for the business to a consulate/an embassy. It is easy to dismiss this on the basis of ingenuity than waste so much resources for the immigration office{ers} trying to do the accounting for the business {and their knowledge on accounting may be limited anyways}.

The ball is in your court, present the business, providing the much facts at your disposal to show this business exist though unregistered.

If you ask me,I'd say you should present a new and GENUINE bank statement altogether if there is with prove of the source of fund - NOT A FIXED DEPOSIT ACCOUNT RECENTLY OPENED but a proper bank statement showing transaction for at least 6 months. This however does not douse the suspicious already raised on the initial "unregistered business'" bank statement
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by DoubleBam2X: 9:04am On Feb 13, 2015
Hello Gurus,
Kindly look at part of an email (in red below) from Accra Visa Office regarding my application:

1) Updated Proof of funds: you must have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations. Send updated bank statements, fixed deposit certificates, etc. If you have made large deposits into your accounts or fixed term investments, you must provide evidence of where the funds originated. For more details please see:

2) Proof of your involvement and right to profits from family company (company code, registration, letter from the bank, company bank statements, etc.

My questions are:
a) At this stage, can I still change my account type? I sold a landed property recently and I intend opening a fixed deposit with it. A new addition to my family has made the former POF insufficient.

b) In my application, I attached a letter to buttress my source of POF explaining that my wife runs our family business. Now, CIC wants proof of this family business as stated in (2) above. But the problem are that, the business is not registered with CAC (because it's just a small store that sells few building materials) and we do not have a separate business account (we use our personal account which we submitted the statement of account to CIC earlier). Now that AVO wants this proof, what can I do and I have less than 30 days?

Please, I need your advise urgently on these.

Regards

This timeline is only approximate as am not the main correspondent.
- Submitted June 2013
- PER 3 months later ie September 2013
- Got pregnant Novemmber 2013 and the result of the pregnancy test sent to our case officer via the case specific enquiry page. This turned out good because when the medical request was sent they suspected I may have delivered and requested a new generic form, additional dependant form, passport id and birth cert for the newborn.

- Medical Request 11 months later ie August 2014. About 2 weeks later medical request for the newborn was asked for. They also requested for a fresh police report for both spouses. They did not request for a new bank statement even when they suspected there must have been a new addition to the family. The reason for this i can only speculate. Firstly the first account sent during the initial submission was way over the requirements. This include bank savings and pension funds. Fortunately, the bank saving is still intact till date. The second reason doesn't make sense but symbolic grin cheesy grin

- November 2014 passport request for all.
- December 2014 visa issued
