PoliticsGive Us Pipeline Security Contract- Niger Delta Militant. by DoubleObee(op): 8:42pm On Oct 27, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged by some repented Niger Delta militant leaders to consider giving pipeline surveillance contracts to youths in the area.
The ex-miliant leaders, under the auspices of Leadership Peace and Cultural Development Initiative ( LPCDI), made the appeal during their meeting with the Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.), Daily Post reports.
The LPCDI said:”We appeal to the presidency to consider giving the pipeline surveillance contracts to the youths in the region who know the terrain better.
”The development, no doubt, will accelerate development of the region rather than granting the contracts to a particular person or group of persons who will end up doing little or nothing to better the region.”
Going further, the ex-militant leaders also advised the federal government to allow youths operate modular refineries in the region.
”We are advising that anything pertaining to surveillance contracts in the region should be channeled through the Amnesty Office because its Coordinator, Paul Boroh, knows the leaders and youths on the ground who can ensure that the contracts are adequately executed and everybody has carried along and happy.”

PoliticsBuhari doesn't deserve second term-Junaid Mohammed by DoubleObee(op): 11:30am On Oct 21, 2017
A lawmaker of the Second Republic, Junaid Mohammed has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has not done enough to seek re-election into power.
The lawmaker in an interview with Vanguard said President Buhari does not deserve a second term.
Mohammed said he is yet to see any evidence that the present administration led by President Buhari has done enough for an average Nigerian.
He said:“I have not seen evidence as a Nigerian, who goes to the market that the life of the average Nigerian is getting better. It is either these governors have their ambition or maybe they are beginning to think of what they can do."
‘’They are making noise as if 2019 is achievable on the pages of Newspapers. I have no objection to any politician having an ambition or a politician who is trying to play games with our own situation.
“In the case of APC, we have not seen any clear sign that they are serious or they mean business,"Mohammed said.Citing a remark made by an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Mohammed said it is important for the party to allow for an open candidacy in 2019.
He said: “Politics has never been a rational game in Nigeria. Sometimes people vote in Nigeria because of primordial sentiment and geopolitics. It is unfortunate, it stifles our democracy and makes it impossible to have a national dialogue.
“I have known Buhari for more than 47 years.
‘’Flying a kite is a legitimate trick. I have known Buhari for more than 47 years. I knew him in 1967 during the civil war. I think if Buhari were to fly a kite about re-election, I don’t think he would do it with the governors of Kogi and Benue states,"Mohammed added.
NAIJ.comearlier reported that the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District Shehu Sani urged President Buhari to ensure his administrationincludes names of corrupt APC members in the list of looters to be published.
Sani said the names that will be published by the federal government should not be limited to members of the PDP.

PoliticsWe Need More Bailout Fund- Governors Tell Buhari by DoubleObee(op): 12:48pm On Oct 18, 2017
The state governors have made a fresh demand of bailout funds from President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governors represented by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state urged the president to ensure the release of the 50% of the Paris Club loan refund.
The governors said the fund could be used to cushion the budgets of the state governments in 2018.
During the meeting which was held at the Presidential Villa with President Buhari, the Zamfara state governor said the federal government's intervention through the bailout funds were utilized by the state governments.

He also said most of the governors inherited a backlog of unpaid salaries and huge debt portfolios from their predecessors and are trying their best to manage the resources made available to them.
Yari also said part of the funds were being used by the state governments to alleviate the workers challenges.
He said: “Our mission here is simple. We are here to thank Mr. President for his concern about the state of the economy and for giving us several supports, ranging from bailout, restructuring our debts, Paris Club exit payment.

“We also told him that we think that it was because of his decision to grant us bailouts and pay the refund of the Paris Club loan that many Nigerians are criticising him; this is the reason why we got out of recession."
He also said the Nigerian Governors' Forum hopes that both the Debt Management Office, the Ministry of Finance, Attorney General of the Federation, and other consultants are concluding the reconciliation process.
He said: “So, we want to crave your indulgence so that we can factor the numbers into our 2018 budget, so that we can use it for projects and other recurrent spending according to the specification given by our respective Houses of Assembly; and that’s why we are here.
“Mr. President was prompt being that he has a representative in the National Economic Council; that is the Vice-President, and the minister of finance is away. We are going to work on the numbers when he (Buhari) returns from his trip. We are going to follow up this meeting with him so that we can conclude on what is going to be done next."

Christianity Etc10 Biblical Reasons Thatt Jesus Is Lord. by DoubleObee(op): 8:46am On Oct 18, 2017
At a crucial point in his ministry, Jesus asked his disciples,“Who do you say that I am?” ( Matthew 16:15). The answer to this question is more important than anything else. Nevertheless, today, just as in Jesus’ day, when Christians ask people the question “who do you say Jesus is?” there are various answers given concerning his identity. But what does the New Testament tell us about who Jesus is?
Understanding the deity of Jesus is fundamental in defending the truth of the Christian faith.
All major religions 1and cultic groups 2reject the doctrine of deity of Christ. Some of these objections are a result of rationalism (“reason” is supreme, not God) over revelation or a misunderstanding of what the doctrine teaches. Another more common objection results from revisionist history, which claims that Christ’s deity was invented at the Council of Nicaea in the 4th century 3and not something believed by the early church. 4
The reason Christians believe in the deity of Jesus is that we are forced to come to this conclusion by the clear teaching of Scripture. It is important to get Jesus’ identity because if we deny the deity of Jesus then we do not have the Father ( 1 John 2:23; cf. John 5:23). Here are 10 Scriptural reasons for the deity of Jesus.
1: The Bible Teaches That There Is One True God:
Jesus’ divinity is part of the doctrine of the Trinity.
This is important to understand because many objectors to the deity of Jesus misunderstand what Christians believe about the Trinity. Christians believe what the Bible teaches—that there is only one true and living God ( Deuteronomy 6:4; cf. 1 Corinthians 8:6). However, we must not confuse monotheism (belief in one God) with Unitarianism (the belief that the being of God is shared by one person).
2: The Bible Teaches That Jesus Pre-Existed:
Before The World Was
The New Testament in several passages clearly teaches that Jesus existed in eternity past before his birth in Bethlehem.
Genesis 1:1tells us, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” In John 1:1we read the same words, “In the beginning.” 8John informs us in John 1:1that in the beginning was the Word (logos) and that the Word was not only with God but was God. This Word is the one who brought all things into being at creation ( John 1:3). John 1:1teaches that the Word is eternal, the Word has had an eternal relationship with the Father, and the Word as to His nature is deity.
3: Jesus Is Creator Not Creature
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Paul’s statement in Colossians 1:15that the “firstborn of all creation” teaches that Jesus was a created being. However, the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ teaching resembles the view of the ancient Colossian heresy that Paul had to combat.
The Colossian false teachers advocated the idea that Jesus was the first of many other created mediators between God and men. By using the specific Greek wordprōtotokos, “firstborn,” Paul rules out the idea of Jesus as a created being. “Firstborn” does not mean “first created.” Rather, Paul uses a term that was based on the ancient designation of the authority, or pre-eminence, metaphorically given to the firstborn ( Genesis. 49:3–4; Exodus 4:22). In the same way, David, the youngest of Jesse, was named “firstborn” ( Psalm 89:20–27) who ruled Israel. Manasseh was born to Joseph first, but Ephraim, his younger brother, was “firstborn” due to his position as given by Jacob/Israel ( Genesis 48:13–20, Jeremiah 31:9).By describing Jesus as the “firstborn over all creation,” Paul is saying that he is the absolute ruler over all creation.
Furthermore, if Paul had wanted to describe Jesus as a created being, he could have used the Greek wordprotoktistos, which means “first created.” So why didn’t he use it? Because Paul did not believe Jesus was created. By describing Jesus as the “firstborn over all creation,” Paul is saying that he is the absolute ruler over all creation.
In fact, the evidence that Jesus is supreme over all creation comes in Colossians 1:16. Here, Paul absolutely rules out the idea that Jesus is a created being because he presents Jesus as the Creator of the entire universe which exists by his creative power ( John 1:1–3; Hebrews 1:2, 8–10). The reason Jesus can “create all things” is that “in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” ( Colossians 2:9). The Greek word for “Godhead,”theotēs, refers to “the state of being God.” It is only God who can create ( Isaiah 42:5, 44:24, 45:18).

Let me just stop here.

CelebritiesHere Is The Reason Why Fela Kuti Statue Is Headless. by DoubleObee(op): 9:19am On Oct 17, 2017
Hello guys,
Lagos State Government unveiled the Statue Of the great legendFela Anikulakpo Kuti yesterday at the State Capita Ikeja, to round up this year Felabration and to also celebrate his 79th posthumous birthday.
However, there is a confusion and something we all don’t understand.
Every yearFelabrationattracts over hundred artistes-both locally and internationally- and the 2017 edition was no different as Nigerian musicians showed up en mass to pay homage to the legend.
This year’s celebration was a special edition as it marked the20th year anniversaryofFela’s demise, and the Lagos State government commemorated the legend by erecting ‘The Liberation’ a statue of Fela at Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, Lagos.
Fela’s daughter “Yeni Kuti” explain why Fela’s Statue is Headless, Read below.
Responding on behalf of the family, Fela’s daughter and social commentator,Yeni Kutihas justified the design of the monument, saying it was the expression of how the artist felt about the late legend.
She said:-
‘Before people on social media will start to say the Fela has no head or it has no hand and so on, it is art and before you abuse us, let me answer quickly. It is art.
How an artist feels is how he feels because if he had put a head and the head did not look like Fela, everybody will say the head did not look like Fela so now you cannot abuse the head because it is not even there.’
The visual artist who designed the effigy, Abolore Sobayo said the work was an expression of how he feels about the late Afrobeat legend, saying that it was designed to generate discussion about the emancipation of the people.
While justifying the fact that the art work had no head, Sobayo said the design came out of extensive research on what Fela represented through his music, and how to use same to correct some of the things he complained about years ago that are still happening.
‘For me as an artist, art transcends beyond beauty or aesthetics. For me, art should generate discuss; art should ask question and art should provoke our thoughts. For me, the creation of the Liberation Statue is to represent the essence of Fela by using his costume.
For me, I believe that this should serve as a conscious to our subconscious that twenty years after Fela’s demise, most of the things he talked about are still happening. For me, this work should come to us not just as a beautiful work, but it should come to us as something that will ginger us to look at the positivity in our lives; positivity in the values of his music; for us to start to emancipate our people positively.
Going forward, I have been able to use symbolism as a medium to represent Fela through his costume and to represent his essence,’ Sobayo said.
The reasons are not good enough if you ask me – Makinde!
PoliticsNigeria Will Collapse If The North Insists On Power In 2019 - Arewa Chieftain by DoubleObee(op): 8:33am On Oct 17, 2017
Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman who is the secretary-general of the Arewa Consultative Forum has warned that any attempt by the north to retain power in 2019 may lead to disaster.
In an interview with The Sun, the member of the National Executive Committee said Nigeria belongs to everyone and the north must stop giving the impression that it owns the country.
He noted that President Muhammadu Buhari came into power on the basis of an alliance and called on the north to respect it.
He said:“We must not lose sight of the fact that it was an alliance that brought him in.
“The North and Buhari must get serious and behave themselves. Nigeria does not belong to the North because if you maintain the position, grandstanding that the North is powerful in Nigeria, you are wasting your time and Nigeria would collapse and crash.
“Why is the North asking for eight years? It is because of incapability to put in a leader. After Buhari, the best is Buhari. I am telling you now; go and write it down.
“The best the North can ever offer is Buhari. He failed three times woefully until the South West came and they had an alliance. Why are they trying to abuse that alliance?
“Four years is enough for the North. Let us respect each other.”
He said 2019 is for the southwest and the Action Congress of Nigeria which formed the alliance for the 2015 presidency.
Meanwhile, Chief Ayo Adebanjo who was a close associate of Chief Obafemi Awolowo blamed the national leader of the APC, Chief Bola Tinubu for the suffering of Yorubas.
In an interview with The Punch, the elder statesman reacted to the statement credited to President Buhari that the World Bank should shift its focus to the north.
Adebanjo said it was an indication that President Buhari has always been for the north and that Yoruba people are already regretting voting for him.
