Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo has said that only two politicians are against President Muhammadu Buhari contesting for presidency in 2019 and urged them to change their minds.
Vanguard reports that the Imo state governor spoke at the government House, Owerri, when members of Democratic Youth Congress (DYC) for Buhari paid him a visit.
Okorocha said he was confident that he would win if he contests for president but said he chose to step down because of President Buhari.
He noted that the country was going through a difficult period and that Buhari is the best man to handle the country.
Okorocha said all southeast governors have chosen to support President Buhari’s second term ambition.
He said:“I must say to all of you that I believe in the youths of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and I am happy to see you form an association called Democratic Youth Congress, DYC.
“The country is passing through a crucial moment. There was a time speculations were in the mind of some people that the President might not make it back and it takes people of unusual faith at that time to say Buhari will continue in 2019.
“I am a believer of Buhari. I made it clear, years ago that if President Mohammadu is running for President, I will not run.
“I am sure that my statement came as a shock to most Nigerians that I have subsumed my President ambition to someone and this is the first time I have taken such a step.
“There is no better time to have a President if not Buhari. I have seen Presidents but I have not seen the President and Vice President that have worked as brothers as Buhari and Osibanjo.
“I have looked at the political situation and I have done the political calculations, and found out that the best thing that can happen to Nigeria is to allow Buhari completes his term.
“I did not step down for Buhari because of popularity, religiosity, I step down for whom he is. I want him to run and he will have my support.
“I want to also appeal to those who have Presidential ambition to shelve this ambition. This because our nation is going through a challenging moment and it requires a man of his calibre.

It is ironic that Olamide’s Instagram post announcing the release of his forthcoming “Lagos Nawa” album would rile up his millions of fans in excitement while in a smaller circle of music critics, the post bears both good and ominous signs.
The fans on the streets are only excited that Olamide is performing his annual rite of releasing an album but for people like me, who pay attention to detail;hmmI’m scared.
First of, I’m scared that after managing to find a facelift inWo!Olamide still sees annual album releases as a MUST. Then, my fear is heightened by the fact that theLagos Nawaalbum would be relatively a one producer album (except one or two self-produced tracks on the album). I’m even more scared that Olamide “made the album in 48 hours.”
In the business of album compilation, I’d like to think that there is an under wraps difference between quality and quantity. An artiste can be prolific with album releases but to be prominent for the quality of your albums as an artiste; the standard is quite different. Asa is known to make classic albums, M.I specializes in compiling first gradeNaija rapalbums but Olamide is known for album numbers (and I fear that it would remain so even after the release of his forthcoming album).
‘Lagos Nawa’would be Olamide’s 7th album and 8th music project in seven years. Yes! He has released a shitload of tracks but the quality of his albums have been questioned a lot, especially when Olamide wants us to believe his projects are “hip-hop albums.” Clearly, music comes easy forbaddo,and I heard that a call fromAlabais all the motivation Olamide needs to release an album, but an artiste mindful of the fact that the inspiration to create a great album is never always there, such artiste would consider the fact that artistes don’t just subscribe yearly for great creative processes for albums, and if the longterm impact of an album means anything to such artiste; then he/she would resist the temptation from the middle-men, record as many records as thewobe spiritleads and concentrate the best products into filling up great albums.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has said that Nigeria is presently undergoing a division that is worse than it has probably ever experienced in its history.
Atiku based his assertion on the secession threats, inter-ethnic discontent and hate speech that have become the order of the day in Nigeria.
Premium Times reports that Atiku said this at the 40th anniversary of the Federal Government College Okigwe in Imo state on Saturday, October 28.
He said: “This celebration is coming at a critical time in our country’s history.
“All of you must be aware of the recent agitations from different parts of the country, with some groups threatening violence and, in some cases, secession. These agitations are the result of a number of factors which I will not bother going into at this time, although since you are all enlightened men and women, I have no doubt that you are well and fully aware of what they are.
“As a result of these various forces, the Nigeria of today appears more divided than it has ever been before. Our country is not at war in the sense of guns and bombs, but the level of inter-ethnic discontent, hatred, and hate speech is at an all-time high.”
Atiku, represented at the occasion by his media adviser, Paul Ibe said what is needed is unity among different ethnic groups.
“You know from personal experience that the Hausa man’s problem is not the Igbo man, that the Igbo man’s problem is not the Yoruba man, that the Yoruba man’s problem is not the Hausa man, etc.
“You know the beauty of unity, of living together as brother and sister, in the same dormitory, in the same classroom, of belonging to the same house and working towards the same goal, whether it be winning a medal during inter-house sports competitions or a prize during a quiz competition. You know that, at those critical times when everyone’s eye is on the goal, the Hausa and Igbo and Yoruba need one another, must depend on one another to achieve.”
