PoliticsRe: APC Considers Akume, Remi Tinubu As Saraki’s Replacement - NationalMirror by Dozzysamuel(m): 2:13pm On Sep 23, 2015
zik4ever:
Apart from Senator Akume who is from the North Central zone and Remi Tinubu, no other names were mentioned but sources said other two ranking senators also from the South West are being considered on APC shop list.

Feelers from Abuja reaching Kaduna, the second home of President Muhammadu Buhari revealed that, barring any ast minute change of plan, Saraki may be asked to resign or if he refused, may be impeached on moral ground to concentrate on his trial.

National Mirror gathered that, Senator Ahmed Lawan who was anointed by APC as its sole candidate but lost to Saraki would emerge senate leader from the North East, since the Speaker is also from the zone.

One of the credible sources explained that, though Saraki and Dogara jettisoned APC’s ,earlier zoning of National Assembly principal officers which favoured the north which has both the Senate President and Speaker but that under the new power sharing deal, South West zone may produce the senate president.

South East and South-South have no APC senators and are already out of the new deal.

Meanwhile, one of the anti -Saraki’s groups, Northern Ethnic Nationalities Unity Congress, NENUC, had called on the senate president to resign or face impeachment over CCT 13 count charges against him.

A police man was beaten up by people in Ogbomoso road in Oyo state this morning after the police vehicle he was riding in was accused of causing an accident in the area. The eye witness who spoke to www.metronaija.com said the police van was chasing a taxi for reasons he doesn't know and the taxi crashed into another car and into the bush and burst into flames. People then descended on the policemen who managed to escape in their van except for one. (pictured above). More photos after the cut...

This is getting more interesting. El Rufai definitely cannot pull that without the consent of Buhari. I don't see Saraki remaining in Apc after this. I'm not a fan of his but the man has tried all reconciliatory moves with buhari, even prayed side by side in the mosque with buhari and his son. What kind of man is buhari that dosent forgive?
...my dear ask them jooorr. This Buhari of a man is atrocious and also a sadist.
PoliticsRe: Osun Government Provides Free Train Service For Sallah by Dozzysamuel(m): 9:54pm On Sep 20, 2015
GOATandYAMtheory:
Osogbo  – The Osun Government on Sunday said it would provide free train service for its citizens who would be travelling to Osogbo from Lagos for the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Semiu Okanlawon, the media aide to Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

According to the statement, the free train service would convey people from Lagos to Osogbo on Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00 am.
It stated that the return journey to Lagos from Osogbo would hold on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 11: a.m.

The statement said the gesture by the state government was aimed at facilitating a stress-free homecoming for the people during the festival.
It noted that the state government had, since 2011, been making such similar arrangements for the people of the state to travel home during festive seasons.

The statement urged the travellers to take advantage of their homecoming to assess the ongoing developments in the state.

“We encourage holiday makers to use this opportunity to update themselves about the developments that are taking place in the state as against the persistent negative media campaigns by our traducers.

“This is one of those opportunities they have to see things directly in order to be guided by future campaigns of calumny which our political opponents are committed to,” it said.(NAN)

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Kicks As Obasanjo Suggests Soludo To Buhari As Finance Minister by Dozzysamuel(m): 8:49am On Sep 20, 2015
Kingsley1000:
Soludo: being promoted as Finance Minister under Buhari
Following the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the presidential elections, internal
politicking over the formation of the cabinet of president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has started in
earnest.
Although, some individuals have been penciled down for certain offices, selection of those to fill the
coveted “juicy” positions may not be an easy task as powerful party members and others who gave
Buhari support from outside the APC are pushing one or two nominees they believe can do a good
job.
DAILY POST on Monday gathered that former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Professor
Chukwuma Charles Soludo may have been presented by former president Olusegun Obasanjo as the
possible Minister of Finance for the Buhari administration.
Soludo was a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration prior to becoming the
governor of the CBN.
Soludo’s presentation to the incoming administration as candidate for Minister of Finance is
reportedly causing disquiet within the inner circles of the party, 247ureports said.
Many APC chieftains are said to be against his candidature on two grounds. One is that Soludo
remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and his appointment
would been as taking from Peter to pay Paul.
The other is that it was under Soludo that the banking sector almost collapsed, a situation
confirmed by former CBN chief and Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a staunch supporter of the
APC.
It was also under Sanusi that the banking industry went through a recapitalisation process that led
to the reduction in the number of banks from 50 to 25.
His clean up also witnessed the prosecution of bank Chief Executive Officers who were discovered to
have robbed their own banks by almost unilaterally awarding contracts to phoney organisations and
companies they either own or had substantial omnterest in.

...I think this Soludo has got good brain and will handle the post well if given the opportunity.
