CorperKola:Lol. The holes are way too many that it generates doubts. A good content writer should have done his or her homework before writing this piece. |
Sad story but there are holes in it. I find it hard to believe that she was born with HIV, only to be discovered at 8 years of age. That is practically impossible as the disease would have advanced so much so that i don't expect her to be alive without anti-retroviral drugs. Which begs the next question, if she was infected much later, how did she get it? Was she sexually abused by the dad who is also HIV positive or transfused at some point with his blood? Did they share sharps? The story about the grandmother just handing her drugs is also unbelievable. Where was she getting the drugs from? I know for certain that she didn't buy it because they are expensive so she must have gotten them for free from a hospital. Which begs the next question, who on earth in an hospital environment will give HIV drugs to a healthy person for a sick person? Or did the grandmother take some of the dad's meds to give the child. If so, how did the dad convince the health care providers the reason his medications were finishing so quickly. I would have suspected that he was selling the drugs and flagged him from getting any further drugs. And then finally, when she went to the hospital to collect her drugs as a teenager (several years later), she learnt the truth about her status. That makes no sense. What about her latest CD4 count, periodic checks on other investigations to ascertain if there are side effects to the drugs etc. How did she manage to remain stable up until this point without ever been in a clinic and being monitored by a doctor? Like I said, there are holes in this story but it makes for an interesting read and most importantly draws attention to HIV in children and its attendant negative social effects. So well done. |
Nemesis0147:Same. Please enlighten us further on where to get this |
luminouz:Fingers crossed |
Still at phase 1 clinical trial. Let's talk when they proceed to phase three. 4400 comes to mind |
Same here |
Didn't bother watching. Definitely not hypo. No company will generously fill that bag with their product. It will decrease the net profit margin and that is far more important than an adult who is trying to gain attention via fraudulent means. |
DiasGodinHeaven:Still not a good enough reason to have kids. Your kid must not inherit what you have left behind. |
Not enough reason to have kids. |
This is just disheartening. All these changes and yet salaries have remained the same. |
59 years? Interesting and yet unbelievable that he is that age |
daniwise:He was a well known singer before the role |
stormborn28:You talk as if all children are mandated to look after their parents. Sadly, that's not always the case. He should have made some provisions for the wives all the same and not discard them simply because 'they are no longer useful'. I will be using this memorable quote when next I have a discussion with my husband on why I should further my career to the very end. |
This is beautiful. And she looks happy. Well done to the parents |
As they well should. Chatgpt has no notion of right and wrong in the real sense of it. It has been programmed by developers to provide unequivocal support to its user's ideas and fantasies no matter how outlandish. Someone should take the blame for that. |
stormborn28:I am discussing marriage please. |
stormborn28:From my experience, that term 'entitlement mentality' always rears its ugly head when the man suddenly starts doing well and feels the wife is now feeding fat off him. The same wife who stood by you through thick and thin during the early years of the marriage when life wasn't so rosy, is now seen as not bringing enough to the table or in this current case 'no longer useful'. What an insult. My advocacy remains that women should learn from other's experiences and grow as the men grow otherwise you will outlive your worth and 'usefulness' and be a burden to everyone around you. |
Only 6? |
Simply put, it is dangerous for any woman in this day and age to be idle or to live under the delusion that her role as a housewife is crucial for the future and growth of the family and children. What about your own future? To bring it closer to home, if your husband dies right now, how confident are you that you can stand on your own two feet and take care of yourself and your children without depending on the largesse and mercy of your in-laws, friends, well-wishers and the church to literally survive? And as a housewife, if you are entertaining discussing this concern of your future with your husband, who is probably in his prime or thinks that he is, I bet that he will misinterpret it to mean that you want him dead so that you can seize his properties. The best thing for any woman to do right now is to invest in herself (besides just face/body) so that she won't be a burden to her children or extended family when a benefactor is no longer in the picture. Think of it as a solid PLAN B. |
Stupid move |
OnlyChris:Not sure I follow |
OnlyChris:You tell me since you are clearly triggeted |
I eat a lot of vegetables, should I be worried that I have a high risk of dying from cardiovascular events |
Is this thread a form of joke? |
Skeyskey:If you say so |
Very true. 32 more characters needed 10 more characters needed |
Commendable but not nearly enough particularly for doctors. The brain drain continues |
Terrible and someone out there is berating kids for using intradermal contraceptives. |
My best dish if done properly with roasted plaintain, ukpaka, onions and utazi |
chiagozien:Lol. You have a good sense of humour. The man gave the ring and got the woman's heart and consent in return. Not fulfilling the promise of marriage will most definitely lead to mental torture which will significantly affect productivity and a potential loss in the quality of life of the woman which the man must account and pay for. |
