Dragonking: you still haven't answered the questions...
I ask, what do you think will happen when I go to the police station to report my wife who is maltreating me by slapping my face and hitting me on the head (even though it wasn't easy for me to do so)? what do you think will be their response especially from this part of the world we are in?
Also, why do you advise men to walk away from such marriage but support the women to report similar incidents to the police, then get divorced and carry about 70% of the man's assets? why the biasness? I can see that fhemmmy has indirectly avoided the questions knowing fully well that his response won't favour the ladies here whom he tries so hard to deceive.. |

Fhemmmy: You think the woman has no pride as well, you think it is easy for her to walk or call the cop that she has been beaten? Then, sum up the courage and dont worry about your ego to go and report if that is what you would rather do. you still haven't answered the questions... I ask, what do you think will happen when I go to the police station to report my wife who is maltreating me by slapping my face and hitting me on the head (even though it wasn't easy for me to do so)? what do you think will be their response especially from this part of the world we are in? Fhemmmy: If your wife always slaps you on a daily basis . . . Pal, there is something wrong somewhere for you to have remain there, NO need to go to police, go to court and tore the marriage license into 2 You didn't answer the question...also you advise I walk away but you support the woman who goes to report her own maltreatment to the police and who eventually come up and arrest the husband, then the woman gets a divorce and walks away with more than 70% of the man's assets.. so why sing two different tunes? aren't you being biased? |

Fhemmmy: Go and check well that thread and you will see my comment there . . . I still blame that man for what happen in that case, cos he had been stabbed before and yet remain there . . . MInd you, i am not saying women dont have their share of the issues, as a matter of fact, anyone called human is not perfect and we are all work in progress . . . . And a man that is abused and ashamed of reporting it is NOT a man, no need to even report it, if you know you cant handle it - WALK AWAY . . . Marriage is a NOT a do or DIE. Like I said...stop deceiving yourself...take for example, I am married and my wife always slap me...if I go to report that my wife slaps me and hits me in the face, what do you think the police will say or do especially from this part of world we are in? I need a truthful and honest answer from you. |

Fhemmmy: So cos it doesnt favor them, they should put up with abuse and allow their kids to see that on a daily basis? only for the kids to now think it is normal for MOM to slave for papa? My brother stop saying what you don't know ..men abuse women and women abuse men...the only difference is that a man feels ashamed to report such issue becos people might make jest of him instead of treating the issue as a serious offence...read this and stop trying hard to win sympathy from the ladies here.. https://www.nairaland.com/2132096/woman-allegedly-kills-husband-stabbing |

Politics › PVCs Ready For Collection — INEC by Dragonking(op): 11:17am On Feb 03, 2015 |
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday said the commission had produced Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for all the registered voters in the country.
Deputy Director, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, Mr Nick Dazang, disclosed this at a workshop organised for journalists in Kaduna. INEC had in January announced that it registered 68.8 million voters in the country for this month’s general elections. Dazang said although the commission earlier had challenges in the production of the cards, it was able to overcome the challenges.
He said the commission had produced cards for those whose data were lost and those recently captured during its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). “At a point in time, the contractor producing the cards had machine failure, but after sometimes, he overcame the problem and was able to boost level of production from 350,000 to 600,000 per day. “The one we sublet was able to produce 1.4 million daily and that explained why we keep telling people that we have confidence that we will produce the card and every one will get it.
“Now, as we speak, the cards for those whose bio-data were captured during the Continuous Voters Registration are available for collection.” He said the cards had been distributed to respective states for collection and owners could collect theirs at the distribution centers.” Dazang also said that no fewer than 65 per cent of the cards had been collected nationwide as at yesterday morning. “As at last week when we had a meeting with our Public Affairs Officers in Abuja, the commission had distributed 63 per cent of the cards.” He assured that those who registered would collect their cards before February 14.
Dazang said the commission had taken delivery of 152,000 card reader machines, which would be used at the 120,000 polling units during the polls, adding that each card reader was configured for use at specific polling units. Dazang also said that non-sensitive materials had been distributed, while the distribution of sensitive materials would begin soon.
Dansang, who commended the level of collaboration INEC had with the media, said the commission would continue to work with journalists to improve the nation’s election process.
“For any election to be successful, the electoral body must work with the media,” Dazang said. As ex-confab delegates seek polls’ postponement Meanwhile, barely two weeks to the general election, some former members of the 2014 National Conference, yesterday, called for the postponement of the election, saying INEC was not ready for the polls.
The delegates, in their separate presentations on the issue at a symposium entitled “The National Conference and the 2015 Elections” organised by the HH Macaulay Centre for the Advancement of Democracy in Abuja said going ahead with the election when many Nigerians were yet to collect their PVCs would mean disenfranchising thousands of eligible voters.
Some of the delegates who were mainly discussants included Col. Tony Nyiam, Mr. Dan Nwanyanwu, Madam Anko Briggs, Chief Mike Ozekhome, Mr. Yinka Odumakin amongst others. Senator Femi Okoromu, who was also a delegate to the defunct conference was the chairman of the occasion.
Though some of the panelists differed on the postponement of the elections for fear of prompting violence and protest in the country, some however were in favour of the call. For instance, former National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Chief Dan Nwanyanwu was one of those who supported the call. According to him, INEC had fallen short of the expectations of many Nigerians in the distribution of the PVCs.
Also speaking, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Chief Mike Ozehkome also advised that it would amount to the disenfranchisement of many Nigerians should the elections be held as slated without considering the inadequacies of INEC. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/pvcs-ready-collection-inec/ |

Politics › Buhari's Lawyer Decamps To Pdp, Describes Apc As A Sinking titanic by Dragonking(op): 8:04am On Jan 31, 2015 |
Mike Ahamba SAN, attorney to General Muhammadu Buhari, has dumped the All progressives Congress (APC), for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
He said he jumped ship because the party is riddled with so much dishonesty and lack of transparency .
Ahamba maintained that incumbent Governors were invited to the fold with the sole aim of securing their states funds for elections .
Below is the full text;
My brothers, sisters, friends and supporters, I salute you. It is a fact now self-evident that I am involved in a political re-alignment and movement that has necessarily resulted in my return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of which I was a pioneer member, having abandoned the sinking APC political ship which has proved soon to be a political ‘Titanic’. The merger of three national political parties, a first in the history of Nigeria, had been full of hope with promises of change. But the center could not hold, things have fallen apart, and no one in the party is at ease any longer? Brethren, I have bailed out of that ship because I find myself unable to continue with membership of a party which (a) places preferred runners in a 100 metres race at the sixtieth metre point in a supposed democratic setting leaving others at the starting blocks, (b) has not published its manifesto after more than eight ( months of existence, thereby keeping its membership and the polity in a blindfold as to its true objectives, (c) has not been able to set up elected administrative structures at any level more than eight months after registration but, instead, is developing a sit-tight syndrome in the interim officers, (d) invites governors into its fold for the purpose of using them to secure funds for election purposes, which funds would naturally be the product of looting of the respective state treasuries, (e) has manifested lack of concern for the well being of the generality of the society, particularly the less privileged, by directing its members in the National Assembly to block the national budget, a directive that could never be justified, to mention a few reasons. I have therefore opted to return to my original political platform the PDP which till date has not be parochialised either ethnically or religiously. I firmly believe that this platform is, in the Nigerian situation, the best avenue of political service to my people and the nation at large. I assure my numerous supporters and admirers that change of platform will not transform into a change of the personality you ever admired in me, and crave your understanding and support. I remain committed to justice to all, at all times, at all cost. As I declare my membership of the PDP on Saturday 22nd February, 2014 my major request of you is your earnest prayers for me to continue to be who I have been. May I also request your support in welcoming Mr. President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to this epoc event. In God I trust. God bless you all, and our Great country. Chief Mike Ikenna Ahamba KSC, SAN. http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/news/buharis-lawyer-decamps-to-pdp-describes-apc-as-a-sinking-titanic/ |
