DEAR MR OGUNDAMISI,

SHUT UP AND LET THE GOVERNMENT WORK..

THEY CAN'T WORK AT YOUR PACE...
You are just too naive about the way terrorism should be curbed. I am very sure you were one of those blaming Goodluck Jonathan for been purportedly clueless. So we should be patient before the northerners become refugees in their own father's land? So my friend, what pace are you talking about?

Politics / Re: Ex-minister Faults Buhari On Empty Treasury, Says Jonathan Left About $30bn by DrCaleb: 12:35am On Jun 24, 2015
Since this present regime climbed unto power, complaint has been the order of the day. Accusing the past regime of handling over an empty treasury is quite disappointing to say the least. I was an agent of Change, but the president should get to work and stop accruing blames and excuses just to score cheap points. It makes no sense

There is a life line. If we can win U.S.A with a wider margin on goals on our next match, and Sweden draws Australia, we stand a chance of qualifying. That might be too much to ask considering Nigeria's horrible performance with the Australians.

Hi house.
Apart from one's Visa and I-20, what other documents are being required to be taken along and most likely to be presented at the port of entry? Comrades that are right now schooling in the U.S, will appreciate your respond to this inquiry. Is there anything called yellow card?

Hi house
Was granted Visa last week at the U.S embassy, after I was placed under administrative processing for months. I want to appreciate everybody's effort in this thread, you guys have been supportive. I give glory to almighty God and may his name be praised forever. However, I have a question. I had to differ the semmester to August after I was initially supposed to resume by january 12, 2015 because I could not meet up with the resumption. Is it possible to travel anytime soon before August since I have been granted Visa.

Dear Visa officer
I was placed under administrative processing since December for an F-1 visa. I checked my status online, and it still depicts 'Administrative processing on-going'. Its like over 70 days so I decided to email the consular at Abuja, and I got a response that I should come drop my passport for issuance. Though I still checked my status online and its still administrative processing ongoing and that I will be contacted when they are done'. So what's your view on this ma. Thank you

The line is back up again. To those that sent text messages or tried calling but to no avail, you can call again. Proximity would not be an issue because a Vet would be close to where ever your pet house is situated.

My visa was refused yesterday @ the US consulate in Lagos. I'm so surprised I was refused my visa despite confidently answering all questions asked, clearly.. This is my transcript for the gurus in the house.

Interview commenced @ about 9:00am after all the checks and screening.. Then my number appear @ box 2:

Me: Goodmorning!
V.O: Goodmorning (female Consular officer in box 2)

After placing my fingers on their stuff..

V.O: Why did you choose the school?
Me: I choose the school because it offers me a curriculum that addresses the features of professional communications that will help me to be proactive in my decision-making process, especially in the area of administrative affairs.

V.O: How did you find out about the school?
Me: I searched through some educational websites like Princeton reviews and USnews.com

V.O: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My father

V.O: What does he do?
Me: He is a structural engineer and real estate investor

V.O: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before?
Me: Yes

V.O: Where
Me: I have been to Ghana

And then she was typing.. Then I was expecting to hear OK, congratulations or something.. Then she handed back my passport, I20 and DS160 confirmation back to me, including the blue paper and said, I am sorry.. bla, bla..

------

The blue paper says.. this is to inform you that you been found ineligible for a nonimmigrant visa under Section 214(b) of the US Immigration and Nationality Act. A denial under Section 214(b) means that you did not meet the requirements of the classification of the nonimmigrant visa for which you applied for. Today's decision cannot be appealed. However, you may reapply at any time. If you decide to reapply, you must submit a new application form and photo, pay the visa application fee again as applicable and be interview by a consular officer. If you choose to reapply, you should be prepared to provide information that was not presented in your original application, or to demonstrate that your circumstances have changed since that application.
Sorry to hear this Bro. You might have been denied based on ur answers. Remember she has all ur information on her computer in front of her. One of ur answers perhaps contradicted what u filled in ur DS-160 application form. So brother, make the necessary corrections and go back to collect ur Visa. God bless you

Hi friends, I was not granted Visa today at d consulate in Abuja. Below is my story and please I will be welcoming your comments and judgement to make me well equipt for my next appointment by the special grace of God. It goes like this.

Me : gud morning
V.O: Silent
Me: Good morning ma
V.O: pass me ur documents please
She scan through my documents starting with my passport then spent more time looking at my I-20. Noticed I was awarded a scholarship of almost half the tuition.
V.O: Why do you want to do MPH
Me: I gave her a convincing and detailed answer.
V.O : Nods head and ask: why U.S
Me: told her about hw committed U.S is to excellence, flexibility and all dat
V.O : who is ur sponsor
Me: My dad
Asked for his statement and I gave her
V.O: looked through the statement for like a minute, then turned to her computer and was busy typing, then she handed a white paper to me and said sorry bla bla bla. And returned my passport and I-20.
The first sentence is ' dear applicant, this is to inform u dat u hv been found in eligible under section 214(b) of the U.S immigration and nationality act. A denial under section...................means u did nt meet d requirments of d classification of d non immigrant visa for which u applied for'

Pls house help me out on what I need to do as I plan to book for another appointment. Thank you

In filling the section 11 of the I-20 form, what name do one start with? Is it one's surname or first ( which one comes first ). And what date to be precise should be written on d I-20.
Thanks in anticipation.

It is not uncommon to find Univ. that send admission letters via email alone, but it is weird if you ask me. If the school insist that they won't send you a hard copy via regular mail (assuming this is their policy) find such policy on their website or request for it and print it out.

Also, check with the US embassy here, explain things to them that, your school will not send you a hard copy of your admission letter as per the Univ. policy, make sure you communicate the link to the policy from the univ website, or any of such.

If possible, you could request that you pay for the shipping cost, it's worth the effort.

http://college.usatoday.com/2013/04/11/should-college-acceptance-letters-be-sent-via-email/

Am assuming they won't do same for I20, because there are no two ways to that, it must be sent via regular mail or courier.

http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/sevis_qa_may2009.pdf

All the best.

P. S. Alternatively, you could ask them to hold on to the admission letter for now, when it's time to send your I20(assuming they will send this via mail), then request they send it together.
Some schools also have special arrangements with courier services whereby you get heavily discounted shipping rates. Check to see if your school has this.

By the way which school are we talking about here?
