I haven't used geany for python programming before, I will suggest you Google how to run python source code in geany.
There are loads of ways to run a python source, you could use your terminal, IDLE (python very own IDE),pycharm, eclipse and loads of other text editors and IDEs
I suggest you use IDLE , it's super simple and get think python book or how to think like a computer scientist, also PLEASE learn how to Google eg how to use geany to run python code.

Specs:An Intel core preferably i5 and above but i3 will do and a minimum of 4gb ram, 8gb and above for optimal performance.

My bad, I I just get really frustrated when someone thinks it's way cooler to write a hello world application in treefrog than writing a complex web application in Ruby or php.
OP, my apologies. I you should try oriely's programming Python 4th edition it has what you are looking for. Once again sorry.

As for buying the software: sure i'll just go withdraw $1000 from my bank account for vray and then another $3000 for lumenrt.

You can visualise Windows on free softwares like virtual box or paid softwares like vmware workstation. But since you will be running mostly cad programmes you will need to install Windows side by side with the mac OS. It is relatively safe, I run 3 totally different operating system on my laptop and I don't have a problem with it.
Or you could just buy the software like every body else don't let those poor software developer go hungry.

In my opinion, I am I don't see why you want to reinvent the wheel. I bet you don't use class libraries, you don't even use a programming language. You code in Binary. You don't even need code, you process data manually since you are a boss man.

Trust me bruva no knowledge is a waste, your inspiration is the main thing. before you learn anything programming it is advisable to have a reason for learning it. so thatcwhen you learn anything new in that language all that comes to your mind is how you can apply it in the project you have in mind. i've seen lots of people take java courses for example and at the end of it they say they dont know where to apply it. the motive behind learning it is very important in my own opinion

Some really good job you lots have done here, i like it when Nigerians come together to help ourselves, and i'll like to contribute my own quota.
For newbies still wondering what programming language to start with: to be honest no one can tell you what to start with. what rocks a man's boat may sink another man's ship. my advice is this: If you want to learn programming first, as yourself this questions
1) What do you hope to achieve with it?
i.e are you gonna be building websites? mobile apps? web apps? etc
2) If you are looking to work in the IT industry with the knowledge, check the companies you hope to work for and the programming languagies they request in the vacancies

Your answer lies somewhere in between those questions. and pls note most of these languages are very similar, knowledge of java will help in javascript, vb.net, c#, php and vice versa so when you know one, you can always learn others

Good day, sorry to bother you, I want to know if it is worth it to learn desktop application development.

Web development is broken into three fundamental parts.
1 client side or front end.
2 server side or backend.
3 server.

Client side - html,css and Javascript.

Backend - c#,Java, php, python, pretty much any
language that has library for web development.

Server - Ms sql server, mysql,nosql

You can choose a web stack to make it easier for you such as MEAN, LAMP, WASI, WAMP and so on.

You can use any programming language to do anything you want,so Identify the area of programming you are. Interested in.
Desktop, web, systems, distributed applications, android, iOS windows phone and so on.
Look into any of the above and find out the most popular language to learn to develop programs in that area.
