President’s visit: Anambra Govt. debunks N10bn allegation.

Anambra State government yesterday rubbished speculations making the rounds in the State that it voted out 10 billion naira to host the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday.
The deputy governor of the State, Emeka Sibeudu who briefed reporters yesterday in Awka on the readiness of the State on the President’s visit, in his office, said security had been beefed up adequately.
Sibeudu, who described the 10 billion naira allegation as distracting and ridiculous, said the money the State government was spending for the presidential visit was as minimal as expected.
He said that some people want to make fun out of the visit adding that the Obi administration which had been adjudged as the most prudent administration in the country, does not have such amount of money to spend.
He noted that why the state government had not taken over zik’s mausoleum was because it was federal government’s project, adding that already, talks had been going on between the President and Governor Peter Obi.
Some of the projects to be commissioned by Jonathan included the Jerome Udorji Secretariat complex in Awka, the new Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board ASUBEB office, the newly constructed Zik Avenue in Awka.

Others included laying of foundation for the theatre block of the Anambra State University Teaching Hospital in Awka, Inspection of almost completed famous Odor Bridge that spanned about 164 metres, commissioning of JUHEL parental infusion plant Awka and INNOSON vehicle manufacturing company among others.
