Classes of people campaigning for APC in lagos
1. Those that work for the government
2. Those that work for big companies that rarely see their pay checks to know how much they are being taxed.
3. Those that are unemployed who basically have nothing to be taxed

if you own and run a business in Lagos that's actually taxable, there's no way you would vote for apc. Every year, you would pay levy to LASAA for your signboard, Multiple tax to the local government and finally another tax to the state government. How would a small to medium scale business survive such taxation.
Forget about the rhetoric and planting of flowers along the street, Lagos is about the people who live there and not just the flowers on the road. If JK would reduce the multiple taxation and thereby support small to medium scale enterprises with tax relieves then he should be given the chance.
RomanceRe: How I Started And Overcame 17 Years Masturbation(tears) by drfk001(m): 12:05pm On Apr 06, 2015
diamondtutu:
My names is Desmond,am from delta state,25 yrs old, today I write this article to all with joy and regrets to what I have lost in these past years I have lost to a very bad habit. MASTURBATION.

How it all began.

I was only seven years old,we were five in the family,i am the 3rd child. I had two elder brothers above me. My eldest brother, who happen to be a lecturer now was more of a problem child, then he was very stubborn,he stole, from my parents and even from my neighbours,it was so bad that then. My parents tried their best but to no avail.
One afternoon,he came home when my parents wasn't around as usual,he took me to the parlour and ask me to watch him. He then brought out his penis and masturbated,i saw sperm for the first time. I never knew anything about sex, because I was just seven. After he left,i was still wondering"what is the meaning of what he did". Now I believe that demons can multiply in a man. We all knew then that he steals, but now he has added mastubation.

Two days after,i decided to try it. I did.(tears) it felt good. I continued, everyday, later 3 times a day, before I knew,it became a strong habit,it was like I was under some spiritual influence. It got so bad that whenver the urge comes, anywere I am,even in the church,i wud look for a corner to please myself and masturbate.

I masturbated from my early primary school till I finish tertiary, there was no dat I didn't masturbate at least 8-10 times daily. I hated girls, hated relatinships, infact then when I see any girl I like,i ll just go home, imagine her face, and masturbate.to me I have slept with her. I could masturbate even in a cab,on benches in the farm, mum's shop etc.

Everyone saw me growing up,as an innocent boy,but no one knew what I was passing through. As I grew older,i started making enquiries about it. I discovered it was a sin before God,and it was harmful to my health,my eyes went blur,i loose so much weight, even when am weak,i masturbate.
Later in my teens,it bacame a form of cure to depression, wenever am depressed,i masturbates, then slept off. I was a very active brother in the choir,i was made the choir director twice. Everyone loved me,but I was dying slowly. During the year 2000,i swore never to do it anymore, but wen the urge comes,it overcomes me,and I yeild.

Later in life whenver I do it(masturbates) I felll guilt afterwards,i felt dirty. Then I knew I had to change... To be continued
Dude I believe your story. nobody understands what you went through except for you. Although it's unlikely actual sperm was produced but @ age 7, a boy can ejaculate a watery substance and considering your age @the time compared to now it's likely you don't remember what you saw.
All the same thank God for helping you through the addiction.

InvestmentRe: Results On Comparing Fixed Deposit Interest Rates Between First Bank And Gtbank by drfk001(m): 9:56pm On Dec 13, 2014
naijacutee:
Last month, I happened upon some money from an old investment which had matured. Rather than have it collect “one one naira” in my standard savings account, I decided not to be the fly that follows the corpse to the grave, and put it in a fixed deposit. Fixed deposits are a very popular investment option in Nigeria, and you’ll hear about them 8 times of out 10 if you do happen to ask for advice regarding how to invest money. The attraction to this sort of investment is that returns are guaranteed, and the duration of your investment is flexible. We probably like this sort of investment because they help us mitigate risks – in a country where nothing is guaranteed, we don’t tend to tie money down in long term investments and fixed deposits are the perfect solution to this investment problem. In the course of my search for a decent return on my investment, I “burnt” at least N5,000 in credit, calling banks and waiting in queues for information, and was only able to reasonably compare two banks – GTBank and First Bank.

What is a fixed deposit?
A fixed deposit is a lump sum deposited with a bank for a varying period, in exchange for interest.
How to put your money in a fixed deposit: You will need to have an existing account with the bank of your choice, and then you deposit the sum into this account. You will then need to inform your bank of your intention to “fix” the said sum for “X” number of days. It is very important that before you make your decision, that you shop around for the best rates. You are not obliged to fix your money with your existing bank, just because you bank with them. You can earn a significantly higher amount by just picking up the phone. It is the more difficult route when you consider call waiting times, credit spent etc but it is worth it, and what’s more I have done some of this hard work for you.

How long is my money fixed for?
Most banks offer flexible periods of 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 180 days and one year.

How do I get paid?
Usually, the money is removed from your account and the interest is paid into your account. So for example, you want to fix N500,000 for 60 days and the bank has offered you an interest rate of 7%. You have N550,000 in your account. Once you confirm you’re making the arrangement and sign all the necessary documentation, the N500,000 “disappears” from your account to be “fixed”. At the end of 60 days, you get paid back your original N500,000 + an additional N35,000 interest accrued. A simplified version of what really happens behind the scenes is that the N500,000 is given to another customer who has asked for a loan – but he will be charged 20% interest (or N100,000). After 60 days, you get back your N500,000 + N35,000 (7% interest from the other customers N100,000). Not bad business for banks, if you ask me.

Bank interest rate comparisons
For my enquiries, I called First Bank and GTBank.
I rated both banks on customer service quality (pet peeve of mine, because time is money) and interest rates.
tbankvsfirstbank

Interest rates
First Bank
7 days (First bank does not offer this service)
30 days – 9.25%
60 days: 9.50%
90 days: 9.75%
365 days: 10%
GTBank
Available from N100,000 to N1m.
7 days – 3.75%
30 days – 180 days : 6.25%
Some notes:
Call times. My initial contact with both banks was on a Friday afternoon, at about 5.30pm. My second contact attempt with GTBank after the first one proved futile was at 3.20pm on a Sunday.
Omissions. I initially wanted to include Accessbank in this exercise, but have been unlucky in getting through to a knowledgeable person on customer service. The frontline staff I have spoken to, all seem to lack basic knowledge regarding what services their banks offer and where to get information outside the limits of their knowledge. I would recommend that training is provided for all front line staff as a matter of urgency, as customers otherwise have no way of getting informed about competitive rates for your most lucrative services.
Am I an agent? I work for neither of these banks. My selection of this two is purely by chance and accessibility of contact information via the bank websites. I simply picked the banks with the most prominent contact information via websites. My reviews are unbiased, and if I haven’t reviewed any others yet, don’t worry – “life is turn by turn”.

:

Op don't be deceived with whst the banks tell you. I have fixed 1M before for 90 days at 9% interest rate with access bank. What I got was 44k. when I asked the manager how come, I was told it's compound interest and not simple interest like you thought. If you ask me, fixed deposit is a poor investment option. Before fixing your cash ask the banker what is your expected earning before tying down your cash...you just might be disappointed

There is no justification whatsoever for physical abuse. There are always channels for resolving issues and those should be explored. Some of our ladies have so gotten the comfort of slapping guys with knowledge or belief that the guy will not raise a hand on her. Afterall if he does, he becomes a woman beater and if he doesn't, he is a wimp. I wish such decisions are taken on a more regular basis so that all parties will know that there are limitations in a sane society. To think that these ladies slap around men, hold their shirts and do all sorts. You hardly ever see them do same to fellow ladies. The understanding is clear. A man will probably not slap you or hold you back but your fellow female will hold you down to a fight, so they choose to abuse the guys who society expects to be gentlemen.

Unlike in 2011,
- Buhari has a bigger political Party backing him.
- More politicians who understands everything PDP now in support.
- APC also have many loyal fans in PDP.
- Nigerians are not satisfy with what Jonathan has done, we need Change.
- Buhari will have larger funds to execute his campaign.
- With Ngige and Rochas in APC, the party will get larger votes from the SE than in 2011.
- With Amechi, Sylvia and others from the SS in APC, more votes will come from SS than he got in 2011.
- SW will massively vote APC this time than what happened in 2011 (where PDP won most of the States).
- The North will vote en-mass for Buhari.

So where is Jonathan going to get his victory? If he try to rig, it will be check mated. APC is better prepared this time around. Corruption will be voted out.

Nairaland GeneralBoko Haram Engaged Intalks Over Kidnapped Girls by drfk001(op): 11:29pm On Sep 21, 2014
(CNN) -- Nigerian government officials and the International Committee of the Red Cross have had talks with Boko Haram about swapping imprisoned members of the Islamist terrorist group for the more than 200 Chibok school girls kidnapped in April, a source involved in the negotiations told CNN.
The officials met four times in mid-August with two senior members of Boko Haram in Nigeria's capital, Abuja.
The swap would involve the release of 30 Boko Haram commanders in the custody of the Nigerian government, according to the source, who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue.
Boko Haram submitted a list with the names of 30 members who were either convicted or awaiting trial on terror offenses.
"The two Boko Haram negotiators assured the ICRC and government negotiators that the girls were never raped, were never used as sex slaves and were never sexually assaulted," said the source, who attended the discussions.
The terrorist group abducted an estimated 276 girls in April from a boarding school in Chibok in northeastern Nigeria. Dozens escaped, but more than 200 are still missing.
Boko Haram has expressed a willingness for a swap with the ICRC at an undisclosed location, according to the source. But there was disagreement on some terms, including the number of girls involved in the swap.
Boko Haram had insisted on an even swap -- 30 girls for the 30 commanders -- but the government refused, according to the source.
"They were only ready to release one to one, which the government was not going to accept," the source said.
Another hurdle in the talks was Boko Haram's insistence on meeting the imprisoned 30 members involved in the swap, but they only had contact with six at a prison outside Abuja, the source said.
"ICRC couldn't find where the remaining 24 were being detained," the source said.
The six prisoners included Kabiru Sokoto, a senior Boko Haram commander convicted in December 2013 of terrorism charges related to the fatalChristmas Day bombing of a church in the town of Madallah in 2011.
The Boko Haram negotiators said they would get back to the government after consulting with superiors

Nairaland GeneralCourt Sentences 12 Soldies To Death For Mutiny by drfk001(op): 7:40am On Sep 16, 2014
The Military Court Martial on Tuesday morning sentenced 12 soldiers to death.
They were among the 18 soldiers charged for mutiny on the 13 and 14th of May 2014 at the Maimalari Cantonment.
The soldiers were charged with six count of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny, disobeying lawful orders and various acts said to be inimical to the military service.
The nine-member military Court Martial, also found the soldiers guilty of insubordinate behaviour, use of abusive language, leveling false accusation against their superior officers, among others.
They were similarly found guilty of attempting to kill their erstwhile General Officer Commanding7 Division, Major General Ahmed Mohammed by shooting at his official car, between May 13 and 14, 2014. The car was bullet proof.
The court also found them guilty of preventing the movement of some of their injured colleagues to hospital and obstructing evacuation of their dead ones who were killed in ambush on their way from an operation in Chibok, Borno State.
The incident took place at the Maimalari Barracks, Maiduguri in the course of the ongoing counter insurgency campaign.
Those to die are: Cpl. Jasper Braidolor, David Musa, Friday Onu, Yusuf Shuaibu, Emmanuel Igomu, Andrew Ngbede, Nurudeen Ahmed, Ifeanyi Alukhagbe, Alao Samuel, Amadi Chukwudi, Alan Linus and Stephen Clement.
Jeremiah Ichocho, who was found guilty of Absence Without Official Leave (AWOL) was sentenced to two years without labour.
Five were discharged and acquitted, having been found not guilty by the court.
The legal team of the convicts pleaded with the court martial to temper justice with mercy.
The team reeled out pathetic stories about the family backgrounds of the convicted servicemen.
One was said to be the only son of his octogenarian widowed mother.
Another is the father of a five-month-old baby.
The defence team argued that giving them maximum sentence would do more harm than good, adding that it would increase the agony of their dependants.
The court said the sentences were subject to confirmation by higher authorities and acknowledged the right of the soldiers, who pleaded not guilty to most of the charges, to appeal the judgment.
The court was presided over by Brig. Gen. CC Okwonkwo.
Other members of the court are: Col. TS Nurseman, Col. TO Olowomeye, Col. IG Lassa, Lt.Col. JK Feboke, Lt. Col. CR Nnebeife, Major I Yusuf, Major TA Yakubu and Major AE Martins.
Lt. Col. AA Audu and Lt. Col. U Ukpe served as prosecutors.

HealthHuman Trial Of Experimental Ebola Vaccineto Start Next Week by drfk001(op): 4:59pm On Aug 28, 2014
(CNN) -- A highly anticipated test of an experimental Ebola vaccine will begin next week at the National Institutes of Health, amid mounting anxiety about the spread of the deadly outbreak in West Africa.
After an expedited review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, researchers were given the green light to begin what's called a humansafety trial, said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
It will be the first test of this type of Ebola vaccine in humans.
The experimental vaccine, developed by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and the NIAID, will first be given to three healthy human volunteers to see if they suffer any adverse effects. It will then be given to another small group of volunteers, aged 18 to 50, to see if it produces a strong immune response to the virus.
The vaccine will be administered to volunteers by an injection in the deltoid muscle of their arm, first in a lower dose, then later in a higher dose after the safety of the vaccine has been determined.
Some of the preclinical studies that are normally done on these types of vaccines were waived by the FDA during the expedited review, Fauci said, so "we want to take extra special care that we go slowly with the dosing."
The vaccine did extremely well in earlier trials with chimpanzees, Fauci said. He noted that the method being used to prompt an immune response to Ebola cannot cause a healthy individual to become infected with the virus.
Still, he said, "I have been fooled enough in my many years of experience... you really can't predict what you will see (in humans)."
According to the NIH, the vaccine will also be tested on healthy volunteers in the United Kingdom, Gambia and Mali, once details are finalized with health officials in those countries.
Trials cannot currently be done in the four countries affected by the recent outbreak -- Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria -- because the existing health care infrastructure wouldn't support them, Fauci said. Gambia and Mali were selected because the NIH has "long-standing collaborative relationships" with researchers in those countries.
According to the NIH, officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are also in talks with health officials from Nigeria about conducting part of the safety trial there.
The GSK/NIAID vaccine is one of two leading candidate vaccines. The other was developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada and licensed this month to NewLink Genetics, a company based in Iowa.
According to the NIH, safety trials of that vaccine will start this fall.
Earlier this month, the Canadian government shipped what it said was "800 to 1,000" doses of that vaccine to Liberia, at the government's request. It's not clear whether it has been given to health workers or anyone else there.
Worth noting: in 2009, an earlier version of the vaccine was given to a lab worker in Germany after he thought he had pricked himself with a needle tainted with Ebola. He did not develop the disease.
While there currently is no proven treatment for Ebola beyond supportive care, government agencies and small biotech firms have been scrambling to speed up development of several potential therapies and vaccines.
A third vaccine, also developed by the NIH, was recently tested in primates and found to protect them from infection; it was given in combination with Depovax, an adjuvant that has been used with other vaccines and cancer therapies to boost the body's immune response.
While vaccines might be given to prevent infection among health workers or other people thought to be at high risk, development has also been speeded up on drugs that might potentially be given to patients who already have the disease.
The drug that's received the most attention is ZMapp, which has been given to at least seven individuals in the current outbreak, including two American missionary medical workers, Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly .
The drug has never been formally tested in humans, and while the results in humanpatients are encouraging -- five of the seven known to have received it are still alive -- experts say there is too little data to say whether it played a role in their recoveries.
Earlier versions of ZMapp, which received backing from the U.S. and Canadian governments as well as from biotech firms, have shown some ability to protect rhesus macaque monkeys more than two days after they were infected with the virus.
Another drug, TKM-Ebola, has been tested for safety in a small number of humans. That trial was put on hold in January, after one volunteer developed moderate gastrointestinal side effects after receiving a high dose of the medication.
Last week, the FDA modified the hold to a "partial clinical hold." In effect, this means that Tekmira could potentially be allowed to give the drug to doctors or hospitals who request it, on an emergency basis. There's no indication that the company has received any such requests.
The vaccine going into trials next week is based on an adenovirus -- a type of cold virus -- that's found in chimpanzees. The virus delivers genetic material derived from two species of Ebola virus, including the Zaire strain that's responsible for the current outbreak. Those genes are meant to trigger the development of antibodies in the person who receives the vaccine, antibodies that can specifically defend against Ebola.
Another trial, using a version of the GSK/NIAID vaccine that uses only the Zaire strain of Ebola, will be launched in October, according to the NIH.
All participants in the trial will be evaluated nine times over a 48-week period. NIH expects to reveal the results of the trial by the end of the year.
If it's approved for widespread use, the first priority will be to give the vaccine to health care workers or lab workers who are fighting the spread of the virus, Fauci said. It will then be considered for people in the communities where outbreaks occur.

CrimeBoko Haram Abducts Nearly 100 Boys And Men During Village Raid by drfk001(op): 9:26pm On Aug 15, 2014
Suspected Boko Haram fighters abducted nearly 100 boys and men during a village raid in northeast Nigeria, witnesses who fled the violence said Friday.
Residents who escaped the Sunday raid on Doron Baga, a sandy fishing village in Borno state near the shores of Lake Chad, said the abductors burned several houses and that as many as 97 people were unaccounted for. The witnesses also said six older men were killed during the attack, details of which took days to emerge because of the village’s remote location.
“They left no men or boys in the place; only young children, girls and women,” said Halima Adamu, sobbing softly and looking exhausted after a 110-mile road trip on the back of a truck to the northern city of Maiduguri. “They were shouting 'Allah Akbar' (God is greatest), shooting sporadically. There was confusion everywhere. They started parking our men and boys into their vehicles, threatening to shoot whoever disobey them. Everybody was scared.”
Nigeria’s military spokesman Gen. Chris Olukolade earlier said on Twitter that he was unable to confirm the abductions.
In November 2013,Human Rights Watch accused Boko Haram, an Islamist anti-government group, of using children as young as 12 years old as fighters — actions that draw parallels to Uganda’s Lord’s Resistance Army, which has operated in Uganda, what is now South Sudan and central Africa for decades.
The latest incident comes four months after Boko Haram, which has been fighting forthe creation of an Islamic state in religiously mixed Nigeria since 2009, abducted more than 200 schoolgirls from the village of Chibok and threatened to sell them into slavery and as child brides. Dozens of the girls managed to escape their captors, but most remain missing since the April kidnappings.
Boko Haram, seen as the number one security threat to Africa's top economy and oil producer, has dramatically increased attacks on civilians in the past year, resulting in rapidly waning support for the movement. So far in 2014, more than 4,000 Nigerians – mostly civilians – have been killed by Boko Haram and government forces battling them, Amnesty International said earlier this month.. america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/8/15/bokoharam-nigeriaabduction.html
