hisgrace090: Nobody is threatened, just a handy work of the investigators of our looted fund. Even you Mr Jonathan are not happy that Nigeria is trying to recover what it lost to looters?
The best president Nigeria has ever had is Dr Goodluck Jonathan. He is clean, he is honest and intelligent, he laid the foundation for a free, strong and sustainable democracy in Nigeria.
But some people were so threatened about his move to change the old, corrupt order, they quickly rallied round to kill his government.
They used accusations of fraud, blackmail, threaths and propaganda to remove him. He played along with a smile, knowing that we are walking into the most evil regine of all in 2015.
Ride on Sir, save your time so you could aim for United Nations secretary general.
He will shock the country really, if we see the number of people who has committed suicide in this country, lost their jobs because of useless economic policies or slaughtered by the Fulani herdsmen who has a licence to kill, lost their will to live because of the hopeless conditions in Nigeria.
igbozionism: This is a rebuttal to ango abdullahi write up.
I want to start by saying that there has never being anytime when the groundnut or any other agricultural product of the north was used to sustain Nigeria be it from 1914 to 1973 or till date.
in fact it was the coal and oil palm from eastern region and the cocoa from western region that was used to sustain the country. the southern and northern protectorates was amalgamated because the northern protectorate was running on deficit budget while the southern was running on surplus. the British wanted the administration of the two protectorate made easier economically
prove:The unification was done for economic reasons rather than political —Northern Nigeria Protectorate had a budget deficit ; and the colonial administration sought to use the budget surpluses in Southern Nigeria to offset this deficit. [1]
secondly, Nigeria was divided into regions and it was these regions that funded the central government so there is no way the northern region could have sustained the country with their agricultural products.
for every yam, potatoe, carrot, groundnut etc that the north sends to the south there is palm oil, cocoa, coco nut etc that the south sends to the north or has palm trees started growing in sokoto?
in conclusion, the north have never being the sole or major contributor of agriculture in today Nigeria. even during the colonial era the east was thriving wonderfully well in agriculture likewise the west and before colonial era Igbo land was growing their food and feeding themselves likewise Yoruba land and other southern groups!
For every single agricultural produce the north sends to south the south pays for it with money. The north doesn't dash the south yam to eat for free unlike the revenue generated from oil and ports in the south which is gifted free to the north!
money is the most important thing because with money the south can decide to import agricultural produce from abroad or buy from Cameron or Benin.
Japan imports large chunk of her agricultural produce from China but that does not mean that without China Japan will starve since Japan can easily buy from Korea,Mongolia,Russia etc. because Japan has the PURCHASING POWER which is money
The groundnut pyramids was a publicity stunt, as well as the cocoa wealth. The only thing that sustained the country then was coal. Tell me why nobody plants cocoa or groundnuts again?
QuotaSystem: ...and once again SE politicians exhibit their political infancy.
Instead of grabbing the opportunity to be politically relevant in the PDP under the legally recognized chairman, they have allowed sentiments to becloud their reasoning and have naively blown their golden chance.
By the time the Jonathan/Wike faction rebellion is finally sunk, they will start screaming political marginalization and resume sponsoring their touts to waste their lives through civil disobedience in the name of Biafra agitation.
CzarChris: As a full fledged complete igboman, I weep when I see articles like these. We should hold our current leaders in the East accountable 1st before even thinking of seceding because, if we secede with same crop of greedy and wealthy individuals biafra would be a hell hole. Mark my words, cause these guys weld a lot of influence and will use their ill gotten wealth to turn the republic on its head. Deal with our "leaders" in the East 1st IPOB, before even thinking of seceding.
Our problems are from Abuja. The leaders here in the state are puppets who must collect handouts from Abuja. Fight for resource control and restructuring first.
Go farming you will know that all farmers are with him
Both their dependants and friends
Same to other sectors that he's doing well

Sanity back to the land and many more
Farmers with who? Lol The farmers are changing to armed robbery because Fulani herdsmen has chased them out of their farms while burantashi, buharry and others watch and laugh
